tsk you probably won't really notice the smoke in the Chicagoland area until Monday morning.

Note these smoke model forecasts are not an exact science either that's why they only go 48 hrs out max, but they'll give you a pretty good indication of what smoke conditions to expect for a given area.

You really don't want to be in those orange/red/purple colors.
Not real healthy air for sure.     

If it's clear out very early Monday AM you'll see a very eerie red/orange sunrise I would imagine.

Lani - that is too funny that you have sneaked in cheese in scalloped potatoes all these years!

I have tried to do that with Chris in some recipes as well. The only one he tolerates it in is my Million Dollar Chicken recipe.

I do try to sneak in horseradish but have not been successful, even in small dollops.....LOL

We are the SNEAKERS!....I think there's a movie with that name.

Lani, I do hope you get rain tomorrow! And I wish I was there to walk through your beautiful forest after the rain! Will be 87 here today, and hazy. 91 tomorrow, then 71 Tuesday with thundertorms. I will have to settle with walking around under my pine trees after the rain... 

Phyl, what a sweet picture of Bob, it could also be my Harley! And the white kitty on the chair... How are you and Jim doing? Have you been able to check on your Bluebirds? Jennifer monitors a couple of dozen nests every year for the University, she sent this picture of baby Bluebirds, a few days apart.
 

BL, talking about the Highline Trail and the length of the hike made me think of Becky and Jennifer's (my sis and her partner) excursion to Mount Blanc a few years ago. They did the 12-day hike around the mountain, they said it was most beautiful! They do a lot of hiking and kayaking, they have a lot to do on the coast, like you do. karen, quit hitting the wrong button! Good article on cats, some are right on (not all though)! Harley loves to be petted, but after so much he acts like he is going to bite. That is when I stop, and he is fine. When I put my feet up on the coffee table he is right there on my legs, and I can't move!

Lisa, chiggers!  Last time I walked in the little woods at Mom's I got several chigger bites. How in the world do they get to their destination way inside clothing! And you can't see them.

Probably another week to ten days to go at the Charlo, Montana Nest of Lola and Charlie before their eggs begin to hatch. (About 60 miles from Iris's nest at Hellgate)
