BTW I'm going to post a pic of Scott's favorite HUGE wool blanket that he always sat with. I put it in the Jeep for potential winter emergencies. Just washed it by hand and hung it to dry.

Does it look like some kind of Southwest motif? or just any old wool bankie?

Boy kb I'm stumped on Scott's vintage wool blanket.

I googled the heck out of that stripe pattern and can not find a match for it by any of the old blanket Manufacturers.  :o

I think you have a fairly rare or very old camp blanket there.   :)

Any idea how old it is?
Any idea where Scott got it from?
What are it's measurements?

Hnmm, I have no idea how old it is other than it "came with Scott"....so now at least 25 yrs. old.
and, don't know where it came from.

It's very large 83 L by 53W .....I almost wonder if it isn't really a rug...like a Mexican/Indian rug?

For some dang reason? I'm very attached to it, other than that Scott loved it and sat with it. Something else speaks to me about it or I wouldn't have asked for help with identifying it..

A little more history on Scott. As a kid he lived on a horse farm...he took care of the horses, watering and feeding them etc.

As an adult he told me he more than once drove, meaning rode, horses to one of the Dakotas. I have no idea what that meant.

Could be nothing, in fact, he could have purchased it at a garage sale.  LOL

kb Pretty sure it is not a rug.
Could be a horse blanket, but not likely due to it's size.

Might have come out of a trunk in Grandma's attic ..
Could be from a small batch of blankets from an obscure maker from who knows where ..   ;D

The good part is you can go out in the poring rain or heavy snow and it will still keep you cozy warm.   8)

Well enjoy it, because they sure don't really make them like that anymore.  :-*

Clynn

The Highline Trail in Glacier National Park[/size]

Clynn that Highline Trail in Glacier NP is one humdinger of a trail hike !
It's an 'out and back' foot trail, it's 7.5 miles one way and there are some very serious mammals to contend with in that neck of Glacier.

It's pretty close to the section of the C.D.T trail I did in GNP.  8)

~ EDIT ~ the trail is 7.5 mile one way to Granite Park Chalet, so 15 miles total out and back.

Happy Caturday Beakers!
Morning Tsk, Karen, Clynn, Lisa, Paulie, Eagles4, Baz, Phyl, Lori, Kb, Tig, Oldguy, Puff, BL, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Blschue, Peep, Jaspurr, Lindy, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Nrstooge, jicaji, LB, and All!

Clynn, cute Caturday pics.... Like you and cc... Mike feels the same about any type of cheese, don't even try and sneak it in something... There is one thing in the almost 55 years together he hasn't caught on to the fact that I put cheese in his beloved scalloped potatoes.  8) ... looking forward to pics of S&S in their new bed... great pic updates of The Big Bear Eaglets.  ;D. ... awesome fossilized footprints!

Lisa and Jeff, Happy birthday and congratulations to your Aunt! ;D

Tsk, I love the plant id app! I just discovered a plant that i had thought was a perennial was a weed (horseweed) and is very toxic to dogs! And I discovered another one is a Sunflower and not a weed. I was ready to pull that one out. I'm excited about the sunflower, I'm sure a bird must have transplanted it to its spot. The app wrote that the Sunflower was very healthy and happy where it was. LOL!! Now, I use that app at the plant nursery checking to see the health of the plant before I buy it.  ;D ... I just watched Mash last night. RIP Loretta Swit.  :-*

Phyl, love the Caturday window pic!!  ;D I hope you, Jim and Miss Maggie are well.

BL, thanks for the Caturday links, pup links too! I saw that cute cub and chewy box.  ;D....  Kilauea keeps growing and growing! stunning Starling murmurations!

Lani - that is too funny that you have sneaked in cheese in scalloped potatoes all these years!

I have tried to do that with Chris in some recipes as well. The only one he tolerates it in is my Million Dollar Chicken recipe.

I do try to sneak in horseradish but have not been successful, even in small dollops.....LOL

We are the SNEAKERS!....I think there's a movie with that name.

How are all of you Beakers in the Midwest making out with the wildfire smoke coming out of Canada ?

It's going to get pretty unhealthy bad over the next week so keep your KN95 masks handy  ::)

You might have to hit the refresh button on you browser.
Once all of the images load hit the Bounce button on the map.

https://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrr/HRRRsmoke/jsloopUpdated.cgi?dsKeys=hrrr_ncep_smoke_jet:&runTime=2025053112&plotName=trc1_full_int&fcstInc=60&numFcsts=49&model=hrrr&ptitle=HRRR-Smoke%20Graphics&maxFcstLen=48&fcstStrLen=-1&domain=full&adtfn=1&resizePlot=1

Vertical Integration:
It represents the total amount of smoke present in the atmosphere within a specific column, from the surface up to the highest levels of smoke.

Units (mg/m2):
"mg/m2" means milligrams of smoke per square meter of ground surface. This unit allows for comparison of smoke amounts across different areas.

So far so good, BL...was supposed to get bad by this afternoon. I googled if it's okay to walk a pup in this and said no..I think it's coming in later today now or tomorrow through June 2...

duh, on me, if not okay for humans, of course not for pups.

KB   It looks similar to Mexican rugs Tim picked up whenever he was in Metamoras for work at their Zenith plant back in the days.  He'd watch them making the rugs on the dirt streets - Selling them for nothing by our standards. - like $5-$10.  Tim would give them $20.  We gave them to all family members at Xmas.

LANI   That kitty is TOO MUCH   LOL   Mike not recognizing cheese in scalloped potatoes  LOL

KAREN  ( thanks Lisa)   I don't think I agree about all those signs your cat doesn't like you.  Lulu gets a little bit of a Delectible lick-'um as a night treat - Airplane mode is the position of choice  LOL  So funny watching her .  Her little tongue goes a mile a minute  LOL

BL  Beautiful sunny day here but they are saying we have haze.  Hmmm  Don't see it.  Need to be a seasoned hiker for that Highline trail :o
