The forest fire smoke is staying above use for now - 55 AQI, but at 6pm you could look directly at the sun - not much brighter than a full moon on a clear night.  Had a high of 80 today and sunny.  Heading for 92 tomorrow and storms on Tuesday.

To clean an MHP grill, focus on the grilling surface, grates, and overall interior. For grates, soak them in hot, soapy water and scrub with a nylon brush. The grilling surface can be cleaned with a wire brush before each use, or after each use. For heavy buildup, use a degreaser and a wire brush or abrasive pad.
Detailed Cleaning Steps:
1. Grill Grates:
Soak in hot, soapy water for 15-20 minutes to loosen debris.
Scrub with a nylon brush to remove stuck-on food.
Use a degreaser for stubborn stains.
2. Grilling Surface:
Clean before each use and after each use with a wire brush.
Use a wire brush or abrasive pad for heavy buildup.
Consider a steam cleaner with a metal brush attachment.
3. Grill Interior:
Remove the grates and drip pan.
Vacuum out loose debris and ash.
Clean the drip pan with a scrub brush or abrasive sponge.
Clean the interior of the chimney cap with a scrub brush.
For interior stains, use a damp sponge or cloth with mild dish soap.
4. Burners (if applicable):
Clean the exterior of the burners with a clean grill brush.
Carefully remove burners (if applicable) and clean the interior with a flexible venturi brush or pipe cleaner.

Lani, happy to hear the rain came! We are getting some starting late tonight, and looks like all day tomorrow! TWC says 89 high today, 71 tomorrow. I agree, where does time go... Erin's birthday this week, he will be 34! So hard to believe... Awww, sweet Mama and baby rabbits!

Lisa, beautiful flowers yesterday. Oh, I wasn't asking you how to explain how the chiggers get where they go, I just meant that they are very sneaky and you can never see them, and they are awful!  The itching is intense!  I told Mom I wasn't going out there again unless she gets it sprayed!  Dad had sort of built a trellis thing out of limbs, and planted some starts from the Wisteria.

karen, you are having some hot weather! Our yards are pretty shady, a sunny spot in the back where we had the dead ash tree removed and half of the front lawn. The two big Pines and a big and bigger Maple shade the back, a big Oak in the front along with a big Crabapple. That's why I grow Hostas and Impatiens in the front! Cutting down the dead Ash gave Ed a place for his raised bed tomato plants, perfect! And, of course, Bella's little wagon garden.

clynn - Ohh, I had thought you meant I had chiggers.  As a kid I did get red bugs from playing outside in the woods.  I believe they are the same as chiggers.  They were very itchy. For some reason, I remember my grandmother covering them with clear fingernail polish to stop the itch, must have been a home remedy.  Love the colorful flowers this morning.

I don’t know what was in there that made that work but somehow it stop the H probably some thing that you couldn’t do today for some health reason But one of the all-time remedies

Darn. I had some other comments to others but didn't write them down. I forget now.

Short visit to cabin Sat morning return yesterday evening went well. We rode with our oldest son. I enjoyed not driving this time.
I stayed away from walking in bushes and anything green or 4-wheeler. I had no itching. Yay! It was cold! We got wood stove fired up when we arrived and kept it going until we had to stop before leaving. There was a frost/freeze warning last night.

Here at home today we've got the smoke in sky from Canada. Not as bad as last year though.

tsk - I have the original hard copy of directions, plus the installer from my utility company stating: do not use metal on any part of this grill.

Mostly cleans itself when heated with wooden tools Scott made to fit the grates....Once or more a year I shop vac out the ash but that too mostly ends in the cup outside the grill except when juices clump it up.

Nonetheless, it's still an icky, greasy job. Glad I'm done.

Had lots of intentions outside today but it's too hot and smoky already so inside I stay. Did prune and weed some earlier.
