Kb - Good news on your car, and glad it was not too expensive.

Lani - Thanks for the Royal and Hellgate updates.  I voted ..... I like the name Kiwa! Crab cakes were delicious.

(((Hugs to All in the Beak Room.)))

(((TSK))), oh, it had to be so very scary for you, and for (((Tim))), to be so confused in that painkiller/meds haze from hell. Prayers they can start to get dialed back bit by bit sooner rather than later. Prayers for that infection to clear faster than expected so the surgery can be done sooner. Prayers for comfort and some calm for Tim so he can rest better, too. Prayers for you for your own health and wellness, too, as you deal with all the doctor/hospital "stuff" - I know so well how that so often goes from much time spent looking after, and advocating for, my own seriously ill hospitalized immediate family. You must be exhausted. Prayers for a restful night.

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

GOOD MORNING

Up since 4 so thought I would get this update out there.

KB  Seeing the Pallas cat reminds me - Has anyone caught the new series on PBS about the Big Cats?  First 2 episodes were this week back to back.  5 or 6 professional photographers following a tribe of lions, a cheetah and a leopard over a period of I think 6 months.  Such a struggle.  Fascinating program.  Good to see you got your Nellie to the "doctor" and is in the waiting room  LOL
Ollie says " Mom I love you"   :-*     I had no idea that water was involved in AI  :o   So much new stuff - I can't keep up!!   Good to have a mechanic that knows your car.  Good advice tho about a car that is not driven much.

PHYL  Colorful AM pics series yesterday  :)

LISA   Gosh - and you've been driving such long distances with that recall issue.  I'm kind of surprised you can't just take it in to the dealer and say fix it.  Is it a waiting for "parts" issue?

CLYNN  Beautiful shot from NEFL yesterday  :o

LANI   Awww TFT - safe travels  ;)   Interesting about LGL's attempted feeding of TF    Awww WYL looking for his kid who forgot to say good bye  :'( :'(    I voted  ;D ;D

OLDGUY    Kilauea having another hiccup I see.  ??? :-\

Mind racing with all the information given yesterday.  Non stop from 8:30 to 5!   4 of the 5 discipline docs made appearances as well as PT - excellent , and the most impressive " nurse diabetes navigator" educator ever! ( ordered by the endocrinologist who we should have been directed to eons ago!!!)  She spent 2 -1 hour sessions with us instructing about diabetes and the use of insulin which will now change our lifestyle in addition to the issues involved with the gall bladder - Yikes.   Really doubt he will be discharged this weekend as you well know not much happens on weekends.  So much as yet to be done and coordinated between disciplines.
So up early watching videos on insulin pen injections to supplement what the nurse made Tim do in front of her with a practice pen.
Once in the new routine it will get easier.   Confusion still hovers but is improving and early yesterday the white blood cells trickled into the normal range.  Phew!  Lots to learn yet and maybe some can be done this weekend.  Thanks as always for your thought and prayers that keep me going.

Good Morning Beakers!  CATURDAY!!

oldguy, looks like things are calm but simmering in Hawaii...

Lani, so interesting to read about the Royal Albies and the fledging of the chicks one by one. Good luck TFT chick!  I also voted for Kiwa! Thanks for sharing the last sightings of Antali, we will miss all of our Hellgate family! Such a wonderful season they gave us! Beautiful sunset at Katmai...

Phyl, beautiful picture of the moon atop the rocka at Bryce Canyon!

baz, love the goodnight words!

Lisa, I drove my car all over the place yesterday, all is good! That sounds like a serious recall, hope you can get it fixed quickly. Recalls are a pain in the patuttie.

tsk, hoping Tim is feeling better this morning... Hugs for both of you.

Sam and Sophie are very intently watching a squirrel or chipmunk!  And Sam reading the Beakroom chat!

The sounds!

Morning all.

tsk - thanks for the heads up about the PBS big cat series....come winter I'll be looking for things to watch.

Best wishes for your new learning curve....you'll do fine.

Reminds me when Scott had his Pic line and sent home with personal instructions directly to me, to flush twice a day.
I kept running out of supplies so the VA called and said they told you wrong. You only need to flush it a few times a week!

Bounce
KB... Indeed! Like, yesterday, I made reservations for a hotel for next year, through my rewards with the hotel chain customer service. The website only showed a regular 2 bed rm. I had questions that were not really answered... partially due to a language issue. So I then called the hotel directly. The manager was surprised the requested rm. option was not offered. She switched us to a King accessible on the first floor and made notes to not switch us to a different rm. We had a great conversation. In the other words, it often pays to double check!

(((TSK and Tim))) Yay, for lots of good help from the specialists, and a great improvement re. the WBC count! Hope that means the gallbladder can get taken care of sooner than anticipated! A lot of info and changes for you and Tim, but I hope that means Tim will start feeling better soon, and also feel better long term with all he's learning from the navigator. Hope Tim can be home soon, and start getting some of Lulu's loving healing kitty purrs, too. Keeping you both in my prayers. P.S. I saw that Big Cats PBS program on my TV channel guide. It looks excellent, but I haven't watched. I've kind of gotten where I have a hard time watching animals having a hard time.

Clynn, Sam and Soph. So cute!  :D :-* :-*

Waving to All the Beakers! Happy Caturday!

I'm off to pick up some things at the store to take to my friends (retired married couple) in a neighboring county who lost much of what they own in the flooding rain last week. They lived right next door to me for several years. I just adore them, and have missed them being my great good neighbors. They are in the process of packing everything into storage till they have a place to use it, and the rest of what's in the house is going into a pod getting delivered to them Monday. It will stay there till their house is repaired and livable again. Everything has to removed from the home for that to happen. They are waiting for the Red Cross to get back to them, hopefully, with a lead on an apt or somewhere they can move to very soon, even if just temporarily till a longer term rental is found, while their home gets repaired, which will take a long time. Many people in the area need the same. All the walls in their house will be ripped out back to the studs from 4 feet high down to the floors, which will all be removed as well. I will take a ferry to get to them because I can't get there by road due to so many roads and bridges and highways washed out or closed or impassable. I hope I can get on the ferry - it will be in big demand by residents cut off by road, and by delivery trucks that will need to use it to get supplies into the community otherwise cut off from the usual road routes. It's going to be a long slog getting things fixed. The impact was over a large area/many homes and people and businesses. Their county's schools continue to be closed - damages, and also buses not able to run many of the routes due to impassable/closed roads and highways. The kids in that county already missed a whole week of school since the storm last Monday, and will start remote learning this Monday. Ugh for the kids and their families.  My next door neighbor's good buddy (older retired gentleman), and his dog, who lived in our county in one of the beach areas that got flooded so badly from their 20+ inches of rain received in 12 hours in that particular area, had to be rescued. The unexpected sudden rise of waters was 3 feet deep at his home. He couldn't even open his door. All the slowly rising water suddenly rose almost from out of nowhere and flooded his home through walls and from under the floors - not just under doors and such (this same story was told by many people in many places). He got help from 911. They had to break the door down to rescue him and his dog. He lost everything he owns. He is also waiting for the Red Cross to help locate alternate housing. The Red Cross is inundated with these kinds of needs by so many people, and there is probably a great lack of available places to put people. I imagine some hotel rooms may be brought in to play for this, as has been done in the past. Four of my area counties were declared disasters, so that helps with getting services. World Kitchen was here in a flash. They are a miraculous operation. Many people are offering volunteer labor, food, supplies, etc. Bless all their hearts.

Prayers for all who were in the path of the flooding rains and all in the path of severe weather.
