Francine has made it on shore this evening - a tornado warning has just been issued for the area just south of Bay St. Louis - aiming for Gulfside.

update 10pm - it is now a tropical storm - rainfall amounts in the area from the gulf shore up to New Orleans  ranged from 5 to 9.5 inches.  Rain has almost stopped for the area south of Lake Ponchartrain is coming to an end for the evening.

Lol TSK. Except for some TVs and other various birds, and the hawks that sent us on our way and welcomed us back, we were not fortunate to see an eagle. Glad your friend did. We did, however, see at least 5 herd of bison and were close but carefully driving by a few single animals. Yesterday, in Custer State Park Camper got pretty close to a mom and calf that were behind a fence. She lay down for a while but sure kept an eye on him. Camper knew when it was time to retreat. They looked hot and bothered by flies... didn't need us hanging around.
We are about 15 minutes from home. Thanx for all the thoughts and prayers all. Except for that one hail storm, it has been a perfect trip.

Griffin Jax, a Minnesota Twins pitcher is also an officer in the US Air Rorce reserve.

2 of the 4 F-35 fighter jets that flew over the game tonight are his brother and his SIL both pilots in the "Black Widow" squadron out of Utah.

In memory of 911...pretty special for our pitcher.

Ollie man is very uncomfortable. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. I can't tell if it's his back left knee/hip or his lower spine...
Having trouble getting up and down off couch and bed...and steps inside and outside of the house.

I'm very worried about him.

I may have to re-schedule my planned big clean out of my garage for another day.

So apparently OG and I need to start brushing up on our bush skills and start carrying more duct tape and paper clips.   

Both of which have saved my bacon more than once.

I always keep a dowel wrapped of what we call 100 mph tape in my pack. 

The paper clip a 9 Volt battery steel wool and dryer lint PooF.

I've stood on the original Brooks Falls observation platform twice and watched the grizzly bear gorging on salmon.

It's pure cheeks hurt for sure.

I'd sorta trust an expired pilots license rusty no seaplane experience Bazi to land us on Lake Nakek and taxi us all in.

BAZI  Sounds like OG and BL will be like our "McGivers".  LOL ( MacGyver is a top agent for the Phoenix Foundation, a progressive agency devoted to righting the wrongs of the world. Even more progressive is the genius MacGyver, who never carries a gun and always thwarts the enemy with vast scientific knowledge - sometimes with little more than a paper clip and the duct tape in his pocket.)
   Fascinating discussion about the mis- mannered alligator.  I know when one usually sees a raccoon in daytime to be leery .  Could that alligator be ill as well as how it was habituated?

TSK, LOL on the MacGyver reference!!    I thought about him when I mentioned the paper clips/ink pen thing. LOL. The mis-behaving gator's apparent health will be checked when he's re-located. That is something that alligator specialist biologist does review. He also locates gators that people have reported as having something wrong with them, like fishing lures attached to them, etc., so they can be helped, where possible. He had a very interesting related story he told me about one such gator... who did get the fishing lure removed.

BL, I agree!! If only we knew who that stupid human is... likely not someone living near me, though, since that young gator just arrived at this pond in the last 2 weeks and was already displaying that behavior then... so he likely was fed by someone at a previous location. My neighbor and I scolded another neighbor once, many years ago now, when we caught her throwing food to the then-gator in our pond (about 15 years ago). She was throwing chicken to him to lure him. We caught her doing it a 2nd time after we had already scolded her for that, and we had to basically read her the riot act to get her to stop. She did. She hasn't lived here for a long time now.  In all fairness to her, she "wasn't right." But we had to impress upon her the importance of her not doing that anymore, and I think it really did get through to her since she didn't do it anymore after that.

I got the recently approved new Covid Vaccine this morning. Yay! Stumbled upon it by accident while making a quick foray to Walmart. LOL. Worked out great - their pharmacy wasn't crowded - only 1 person waiting on an Rx (wow!). So it took only about 15 minutes from when I asked if they had it, to walking away with a bandaid on the injection site. Easy peasy. Tonight, I only have slight soreness in the muscle at the injection site - otherwise, wouldn't know I had gotten it. I'm glad I got that checked off my list, because I was wanting to get one a few weeks before I have an outpatient procedure that's scheduled for about a month from now. My neighbor contracted Covid last month while she was a patient in the hospital! I will at least have some immunity for the newer covid variants circulating now, so that should help me fend off any such cooties the doctor, nurse anaesthetist, and assistants might breathe down all over me while I'm knocked out.
