Cameras on and off because of heavy rain storms in the area this morning.  Some GREAT views, thanks to the intrepid and expert cam ops.  Feeding and flying are way better on the rewind or video.  Pics are just teasers.   ;D

Right after DH2 fledged, there was mention of a "gang" of eagles he/she seemed to have joined. I wonder if the two sub-adults in the area are part of that gang.  They seem to be compatible, perching near each other upstream from N1, at those bluff trees.

Great pics, STL

I have not heard that mentioned before about DH2 joining a "gang" of eagles.  Interesting.

One of the two sub-adults from earlier this morning has been perched in the trees bluff side most of the afternoon.

Angelo, the ATF will likely have the details of the fledging.

About 7:00 this morning, HM provided a lesson on nest cleanup for DH2.  Both of them have been doing that off and on all day.

Red winged blackbird males are very pesty this time of year.  Perhaps because they have nestlings nearby.  Same happens every year here and also at the North's area.  Watch rewind for good video about 1:00 while DH2 was on the Y.

Lisa, great pics!  The RWBs are really cheeky aren't they?

This morning, HM (I believe) spent several hours perched in a large cottonwood, being harassed by the RWBs.  Not sure which tree; it's pretty hazy early on.  About 10:15, HM brought something to the nest, perhaps a muskrat carcass, and DH2 fought her for it, not sure who won, but HM was trying to swallow the large, bare tail at 10:30.  She left and DH2 was on the nest picking at bits at noon.

Lisa, love the creek pics! Was this before or after the pigeon for lunch? Watchers can see the details on the rewind.

Some good closeups of DH2 on the Y this morning about 9:00.

Ha, Ha, the pesky RWBs sitting on DH2 reminded me of my grandma, who used to carry her parakeet around on her shoulder!   ;D

RWB harrassment still going strong this morning.   DH2 puts up with it for a while then flies to another location.  Cam ops found a doe and fawn grazing along the mowed edge of the Pond area about 7:00.
