More pics continued…Spooky pasture tree where the eagles eat, osprey trying to fish over retention pond, one of the parents above the cams, and parent again on N side of N1

Been a long while since I visited here .
Lots of great snaps and videos everyone. Many thanks.

Lisa enjoyed your photos of days 1 and 2. These are really nice for those of us who've not been there.

Lisa, love your pics of the Decorah locations!  Keep 'em coming; it's second best to being there, for sure.

Early morning, big shiny sunrise, then DH2 perched (with RWBB) in a dead/dying pine tree near park benches at the creek, then flying away.  Tree in oval at center, DH2 in oval to right.

Thanks for sharing, Lisa! I've been there, but looking at your beautiful pics brings back wonderful memories of Decorah and their eagles!

DH2 spent some time early this morning in the same old, dying pine tree as yesterday.  If the tree doesn't already have a designated name, maybe it could become DH2's Tree.  What do you all think?  Too early to decide?

Have a wonderful ATF day!

STLbf I don't think that pine tree is dying necessarily.
I think that pine tree got struck by lightning up high while semi-top-wet .. the woodpeckers have had their way with the stripped off bark of that strike. Pine sap heals so nicely.  ;)

You have my vote STL.  ;D

I mentioned DH2's Pine Tree Perch in a post on 07/04/23.

DH2 took to this lovely perch spot above The Trout Run shortly after leaving N1 on day 3.
I think she thought the RWBB's wouldn't find or follow her to this Pine.  ::)

Some boots on the ground ATF attendees that wake before the eagles are there I here.  :D
Perhaps they have seen DH2 on The Pine Perch above Trout Run ?  ;)

Here are some maps to orient peeps unfamiliar with the Hatchery area to "DH2's Pine Tree Perch".

This early riser was there this morning when DH2 was perched on the pine and 1st  bluff closest to Trout Run Rd.  DH2 also likes to soar around with the Turkey vultures.

Tsk, nan and STL, thanks for the kind words on the pics.

STL, Nan, T40 and all, many thanks for all the snaps and videos from yesterday.
And, sure hope DH2 learns that important lesson.  ;)

Looking forward to more of Lisa's snapshots.

BrokenLug, thanks so much for the maps & pics that locate the pine tree that DH2 likes to perch in.

Hope everybirdie is having a super time at the ATF celebration!

HM brought a fish to the Y and DH2 grabbed it, 7:00 this morning.  The RWBB was very brazenly pecking at DH2 on the nest while she/he ate the fish.  DH2 left the Y to get away, but the RWBB flew right along, watch on the rewind as they perch together on a bluff ledge upstream.
