From RRP's FB and blog pages:

At least three subadult eagles are hanging around the hatchery right now. Could they be making a visit home? One of them is roughly 2-1/2 years old, which means it hatched in 2020: the last year that Mom and DM2 nested in N2B.

The 2020 Decorah eaglets were D34, D35, and D36. D35 was killed by eating a lead slug embedded in game. D36 is still alive but wears a transmitter and sports a band. If - and it's a BIG if! - this is a 2020 Decorah  alumnus, it must be D34!

Is that subadult eagle a Decorah Eaglet? - https://www.raptorresource.org/2023/02/03/is-that-subadult-eagle-a-decorah-eaglet/?fbclid=IwAR2q4-svEAZLweulpJIsy3B3rO-fw84gU-06fzyllOK-QnwhurYI-_sdzZ0

At the same time as Lisa's pics of the geese, there was at least one deer on the far side of the stream/creek (see pic).  Which is correct, stream or creek for this area around the hatchery?  On one map, I saw it called Trout Run Creek.

Cam ops showed us N2B at noon -- snowy and unoccupied for now.  And earlier, a tranquil scene alongside the stream/creek where visitors can sit, both birds and people.

Phyl - I love chat, and have learned so much.

STL - Great pics, and great catch on the deer.  I love that tranquil scene.  I got my pic taken on the bench when I was ATF last year.  :D

Indeed 'Chat ' is a great place to learn, learn, learn about eagled and all birds.
Unfortunately, those of us w/arthritis in the hand joints  will never be able to
keep up with the rapid pace of Chat.

Phyl, I say hello and when it starts getting fast paced, just read along.

Lisa - I couldn't stop staring at your snip of HM preparing to fly off the limb. She's stacked! And those legs are huge! Big, healthy girl. :-*
