Our little fluff ball chicks are growing daily.  Parents filling up those little bellies, despite rainy day.

June 2, 2021, Wednesday, 12:30pm -- Turkey Vulture Chicks  --  Marshal, Mo

From : Vulture Biology and Management, pp 278  "Nestling Phase: ... Behavior of adults changed as the nestling phase progressed.  Continuous brooding during the day ended about five days after hatching, which, according to Coles (1938), is about the time hatchling Turkey Vultures begin achieving thermal independence.  After this intensive brooding stage, the time parents spent in the nest decrease rapidly until, about fourteen days after hatching, adults made only brief, infrequent visits to the nest."

Turkey vulture chicks grow fast!  Fun to watch them walking and exploring their nesting area in the hayloft. They make lots of sounds.
