Dad RLK/A85 big wing stretch.

Then 13 seconds later  :-*

Lani, LOLOL! I love this 2-shot series of Dad RLK and his chick!!  :-* :-* :-*  Yay, Mike's on his way home!  :) What's for dinner?  ;) :D

Howdy Beakers!  :)

My dentist visit yesterday went well - he only had to re-glue the crown on my molar. Yay!!  :D

The forecast is showing 5-8 inches of snow over this weekend across much of Iowa, including the northeast corner - Decorah! Ugh, hope the Norths, and all, will be safe and their eggs warm. Poor things... but thankful they have all those warm feathers, great nest bowls, and great parents, who all have succeeded through such weather before!  :-* :-*

Clynn, it looks like the Des Moines/West Des Moines area won't get as much snow as the Decorah area this coming weekend, but it looks like another few inches for your area. Stay warm! Brr!!

I'm still catching up on all of today's posts...

Take care, and Stay warm, Beakers!!  :-*

 Good Afternoon Beakers ...

Today 45F cloudy    and   Tonight  24F

I'm running very late today...hobble, hobble, hobble.

Yesterday's Doc appt.:
Got the results of my MRI in short down underneath inside the joint,  it all looks  fine... just as it should.  The trouble is the bursa.
She was thrilled to see how good my poor battered knee looked. Complimented me how I was taking care of it.
I have two more weeks of icing and elevating.
Amy Jean also aspirated what fluid and blood remained and then broke up the blood clot and pushed it out the hole made by the needle. My right knee  almost looks normal.   Almost!  ;D I also got two injections into the knee...steroid to dry it up and antibiotic as precaution plus an Rx for same.
She said I could  iksnay the cane right now. Wear the  black brace I brought (she approved my selection). Oh joy!
And begin to walk normally wearing the brace only.  Oh joy!
After the two additional weeks of icing  elevating I could do housework...no brace ...and use my stationary bike. I'll probably wear a light brace, for a while,  just to make myself feel more supported until I regain strength.

I have an exercise sheet. These are to strengthen the knee.
I' m to wait until mid March  resume my walking outside in the evenings.  ;D

Phyl - no not a main water pipe. Instead a restaurant on the corner....apartments above it. And, across the street from my favorite restaurant. Same owner.

So, it seems the culprit will be a building owner, not the public main water pipe......ugg.

Glad to hear of your results.

BTW, it's not atypical for water pipes to burst inside even homes with this long of cold temps...like I said we've been below average for 6 weeks. below zero at night by a mile, and in the single digits/teens for highs for weeks.

Tig, my paternal grandfather along with his mother and siblings settled in Wisconsin and I never heard of them leaving a Christmas tree up until February so of course I looked it up and found these interesting things Catholic Germans follow the practice you describe and leave their tree up till February the protestant Germans leave the tree up until about January 6 Epiphany or as they called it in parts of Chicago ,little Christmas .I thought this was very interesting To see how people from the same country have different practices with a Christmas tree . Germany is I believe the founder of decorating Christmas trees for the holidays.

Phyl, I am pleased to hear the results of your MRI and consultation with the PA. You are well on your way to recovery now, and must feel much better knowing that there’s an end to all of this and that your knee itself is in good shape I would probably still keep the Kay near in order to be sure I don’t do any more damage, but I’m just overly cautious.  I’ve only fallen once, and don’t you look forward to a repeat
Lani, I am continually amazed at how calm The royal Albies are , they act like they expect people to come by and give them a pat on the head and maybe something to eat and just don’t seem nervous at all around humans. Amazing. I hope Mike made it home safely and can rest up for a few days before his next adventure.
Tsk, Be sure to post a picture of your 1000 piece puzzle. As soon as you finish, you know you might want another one to work on during March when is sometimes lingers.
Nice Morning, Valentine posts, lovely hearts, and flowers
As I said no snow, but the backyard looks like a lake as we have had quite a bit of rain. I wish I could send some of it west, but then the landslide seem to be kicking up and they don’t need too much water, but maybe some that were just sort of trickle in in a gentle manner. Piper does not want to go out and there is no roof over her bathroom no plans to build a roof either. She is fairly waterproof though and I suspect she can swim if she has to lol.  Going to dig around in the freezer and see what we have for dinner. Don’t have a taste for anything that will eat. Baz, Good quick Dental fix

Out running errand - never saw who to credit for the raccoon in NN.  DNM wasn't interested however.  Laid on the side for quite a while.  Now she picked it up and took it away.  Where did she drop it?  Cam never honed in on it either.  Could be she wanted the eating crumbs not to end up in the bole?  Meanwhile E#1 is getting col in the single digit temp.

Good Morning Beakers....Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Lani - Sweet good night pic.  Glad to hear that Mike arrived home before the rain.

karen - Aww, Snoopy.   I saw on radar all that rain you got yesterday.  Jeff keeps saying, who said we were going to have a mild winter?  If its not snowing, its windy or raining.  I see rain for two days for us, starting tomorrow.

Puff - It was Mr N who brought in the raccoon, and an interloper followed him from what I could tell.  DNF got up off the egg for a bit to take care of business, and run off the interloper.

Phyl - Thanks for the 365, and RRP post.  Sounds like your results appt went well.  Take care.

baz - Yay, on your re-glue, and not a re-do.  :D

kb - Yikes on the busted pipe.

Off to the dealership this morning to take Jeff's car for a oil change and tire rotation.  Catch up later.

Lisa - Spent a good part of the day keeping tabs on DNF - She was more then a little bit angry and defensive against intruder.  She did leave a large part of the coon on her nest.  I have the opinion that the bole is too small.  Not only that but it's up against the trunk of the tree, she was beak to trunk at times, too many cornhusks and not enough soft stuff to her liking.  Needs some interior designer help.  Hope we get a valentine egg today.  Definitely need some more room for mom's girth and more eggs.

Trempealeau chatroom aims to open today.

Don't know why - but looking at my avatar pic today - Thinking Woman let me use it years ago when I first started.  What a special person and friend to me and quite a few of us.  RIP  :'(

Special Valentine Hugs for all of you today.   :-*
