Tsk-  So glad you & Tim are dinning out...tell us all about it. Jim leaves at 530 AM for work. Guessing he had them in his car all night, as they were waiting  for me when I got downstairs this AM. I had left 2 valentines courtesy of Cornell Lab of Ornithology website. I can't drive and didn't think a head. So Providence provided something. Oatmeal cookies a lovely 'thank you'.
I bet you're right on Mrs. DN

Karen -  Sweet little   orphan otter.  :-*

Tig- I hope you and Camper have a wonderful Valentines

Lori - all those  Valentine treats you made for today . Nobody does holidays better.  Charming greeting's  ;)

Lani -swan 'heart' how nice

{{{OllieMan}}}  KB  you're a good mommy.

Pip, Kopje and I are back home safe and sound in Joisey.   ;)
Just to be on the safe side we bugged out of Maine, M.D.I. earlier than planned due to the winter storm rolling into the NE this weekend.   :(

It's rather easy to get stuck on the Island for a few days at this time of year.  ::)
We often do our traveling up/down to MDI in the middle of the night as the Interstates are practically empty except for the truckers.
We almost always hook up with them via CB radio. Still the best Smokey look outs on the road _ hammer down.   ;D

ME-NH-MA-CT-NY back to N. NJ.
General route of travel:

Trust me it's always longer than 8 hours !

We did a layover in CT at Pips best friends house in CT Yesterday.
We traveled the last 2 hrs back to home this AM.

Even the Energizer Bunny, AKA Kopje is tuckered out.   ;D

Good Evening Beakers

We have been without internet service, since a lil after noon, and it just returned. It seems they were doing some major maintenance, as it was a widespread outage in my area.

Phyl - So ready for Spring! Sorry about losing your post.  Thanks for the pics of DNF.

Lani - Pretty Valentine post/pics.

karen - Look who let me pet them today  :)  I wasn't sure how they would feel if I tried to pick him up, and I didn't want to find out, if he clawed me to death.  ;D  Baby otter so cute!

oldguy - Happy Valentine's Day!

kb - Boy, you and Ollie had a chilly walk.

Lori - I am like Phyl, I sampled a lil of everything.  ;D

tsk - Yum on the cookies!

BL
- Thanks for the DNN info...yay for the Valentine egg!  Welcome home.

Good night, everyone  :)

Lisa, don't you feel a bit lost when your internet is down?!!  Thank goodness for the smart phone!  Is that your little Cat Village? Jeff even put tarps on the fence to keep the wind away, what a sweetie!

Phyl, Audacity is still brooding the first egg, right? I know the second and third eggs broke, at least that is what they think. I sure wish the pair would find another place to build a nest, something is not right with the fish in that area... I was curious so I looked up some information on that nest. This problem goes way back EXCEPT for 2018 when three eggs were laid, hatched and all 3 fledged!  At least twice they have had 8 eggs total and all broke.  https://www.iws.org/sauces-nest-history

Lori, what a Valentine's Day spread! I think we are all snacking!  Hope you and Destini are doing well, we miss you but glad you bring us goodies on special days!

BL, yay on Egg #2 at DNN! Glad to hear you and your clan are safe at home once again!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPndmL6HfIs

tsk, I had to run to the grocery store to pick up a prescription. Man, it was almost a steady stream of men coming and going and a long line at the floral department. Kind of like Christmas Eve shoppers. A bunch at the Hallmark area as well!

Lani, love your morning pictures!

karen, baby otters are so darn cute!

The Hoover Dam is located right on the border between the states of Arizona and Nevada. Because these states are in different time zones, there is a one-hour difference between the two sides of the dam for most of the year.
Nevada is in the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8) and observes Daylight Savings Time, moving forward one hour between March and November. Arizona, on the other hand, is in the Mountain Time Zone (UTC-7) but does not observe Daylight Savings Time, except on the Navajo Nation. This means that between March and November, there is a one-hour time difference between the two sides of the dam, while the rest of the year the time is the same on both sides.
This peculiarity makes the Hoover Dam a unique place, where, depending on the time of year, you can be in two different time zones just by crossing from one side of the dam to the other.Credits to Pierangelo Piacentini of the group Art, Architecture, Places & Cultural Heritage Around The World

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

BL   What did I tell ya'  Mrs DN  laid #2  YAY   Great map and fun to see your route.  You're at the very tipee top of NJ.   Time to do laundry before the next outing.  LOL

LISA  Thanks for the glimpse of the B&B  Such a nice area for the kitties - Love the rooms  ;D  Is that fence covering to block the wind?

CLYNN   Wonder if MPMOM still watches that nest.  I wish they would move - Something is wrong there.  Funny you should mention the store.  Wanted a few things from Trader Joes this AM - Took me 5 min to park! - Most everyone in line with flowers.  Then at the grocery store the same thing - You're right to compare to Xmas eve.  ::) ::)  Hoover Dam  Quite and amazing structure.  Tim and I went there when we did a long weekend to Vegas in the 80's

Tsk   ;D  So happy for the DNN pair.  8)

BL   What did I tell ya'  Mrs DN  laid #2  YAY   Great map and fun to see your route.  You're at the very tipee top of NJ.
Time to do laundry before the next outing.  LOL

We bought a commercial grade heavy duty front loading washing machine (think laundromat) maybe 20 yrs ago due to our lifestyle and laundering needs.   :)

It has no computerized BS electronics to deal with. It's almost purely mechanical and the electronic solid state boards are plug and wash.
It's very easy to maintain. Take the panel off the back and replace the readily available easily accessible parts.
Not that I've had to ever .   8)

It washes mud caked ATV Carhartt's and fire smoked turn out gear and everything in between  etc etc ..
It goes all the way down to it's "gentle cycle" for things like blood stained Fleece and Gore-Tex without damaging any of it.
We just use good old fashion cheap powdered detergent without all of the scents, waxes, chemical additives and dyes like Dear old Mom use to use.   :)

Powdered Tallow basically.

Pip's has a regular LG POS washer/dryer stack right next to it for her unmentionables which we have had to to replace twice in the same time period for $$$$.

Laundry room efficiency design so important to a homestead like ours in IMHO.
Our floor is a non slick/slip something, subway tiled from the floor 3/4 up the walls to the ceiling. Direct drains in the floor with water leakage alarms.
4 x 8' island white Formica laundry folding table. Snuggled warm missing cats are often found here in the unfolded.
Enough stout steel rods and plastic hangers to dry hang an army.

I have been known to create an army's worth of laundry on my outings as Pip would say.   :-*
You leave with a backpack and a dry bag ?

We have and never will look back again.
