The eagles at Decorah are on hatch watch for the geese at N1, just like us!

BE paired was on bluff perch early morning.  Male moved to the lower bluff tree, and female move to tree top near bluff perch.  N1MG shows off her eggs.

Activity is great to watch at Decorah's nests and perches!  That's a great closeup of N1MG's 7 eggs.  About 9:00 a goose was resting in the creek under N1.  Probably N1FG.   As of noon, no pips and N1MG looks calm.

No hatch or pips visible at N1 as of almost noon today.  But N1MG is restless, getting up and down and rolling the eggs often.

The eagle pair are watching the area from several familiar perching spots.

At N2B, there are 5 eggs, with N2BMG caring for them as expected.

It's like the soap opera for eagles and geese!

As of just after 7:00 this evening, no pips at N1, but N1MG has been off the nest several times since about 3:00.  She doesn't stay away long, 15 minutes at most.  We'll see what morning brings.

No fuzzy yellow chicks at N1 yet.  Darn.  N1MG is rolling the eggs frequently again this morning, but no pips are visible.  Things look OK at N2B also.

Great pics, STL  :)

I did catch one egg early morning at N1 that is starting to PIP.  Last egg, close to her leg.  Soon, lil yellow chicks!

We have babies at N1 this evening!  Several goslings have hatched, I think 3 by about 9:00 PM.  N1MG helps eggs hatch by moving them around in the nest.  N1FG is right there on guard.  In the morning there will be lots of fuzzy yellow and brown little ones for the goose parents to look after.

Four hatchlings in the N1 nest this morning about 6AM, and a glimpse of two yellow cuties peeking out from under N1MG at 7AM.
At 8:25 AM, five little beaks are visible as N1MG raises up.

It's grand to see that all 6 of N2MGs eggs hatched successfully.  Great pics, Lisa.

So far I have seen only 5 at one time on the rewind.  I'll keep watching.

Do we know what N1MG does with the old eggshells?  Does she push them off the nest, or eat them?

STL, I saw N1MG reaching down earlier, as one was by the rails and she looked to be eating on it.
