Nothing more precious than newborns!  Take lots of pics because they won't be in the nest for long.

Best of luck to our little parachutist goslings today or tomorrow ..   8)

We definitely have some very curious adorable yellow peeps already poking their heads out this AM.

Moonset over by the raceways at the hatchery and a early feeding by a BE by the road bridge I believe.

I wonder if the Goose Gang is on the Ground because I think these Goslings are going to 'GO' today.   :)

All 6 goslings made the leap from N1 a about 8:34 nest time.

All 6 jumped really fast, no dilly dallying at all.
Less than a minute for all 6.   :o

We'll find out later how they all made out ....

PER RRP!
"The goslings took their Leap of Faith from N1 this morning! The drop from the nest to the riverbank is about 70 feet. Five of the goslings made it: the sixth hit a branch below the Y and did not.
The five that made it quickly re-joined their parents on the riverbank and are currently downstream from Siewers Spring Road. Make way for goslings, everyone! Hatch watch for N2B begins on Friday, April 18."

Get ready for LOTS of pics from the jumping event this morning.  BL reports that all of them jumped within a minute of 8:34 AM. RRP reported via Nora that the last one hit a branch on the way down and apparently did not survive the 70-foot fall.  Five survivors is great odds for goslings!!

Waking up and getting their bearings.  These goslings are raring to go.

More jump-day pics.  Seems unusual, but the first gosling jumped with N1MG on the nest and N1FG on the Y branch.  One gosling followed N1FG onto the branch and lost its balance and jumped.  N1MG flew to the ground immediately, and N1FG followed, leaving 5 goslings on the nest.  Bing, bing, away they all went in rapid succession.

In previous years, the parents have been on the ground calling the goslings for a time before the first jump.  Watch and learn.

Pics of the N1 family on the ground under the nest, near and in the creek.  Five goslings survived. The last to jump did not; so sad to lose one of these brave little goslings.

Congratulations to the N1 geese!  Watchers hope to see them often as the goslings grow up this spring and summer.

Hatch watch at N2B starts on April 18.

I'm hazarding a guess here and only based on my field observations of CG ground nests.

5 out of 6 N1 Gosling's swimming downstream on the Trout Creek towards Trout Run wit N1MG & N1FG for and aft.

Those new little paddles motoring under water like the 1st Best Day Ever.

See Ya' at the Retention Pond.

1st gosling to the other ..

Hey I just jumped off of that cliff up there.

I just jumped out of a 70' high World famous Bald Eagle nest. Live.

I hope we see them soon around the retention pond.  :)

Yup, me too, about seeing the N1 family at the Retention Pond.  The rewind found adult geese in the creek, but I didn't see goslings.

After midnight, a raccoon or two raided the N1 nest, eating the unhatched egg and eggshells left from yesterday.  Early this morning, several geese visited the nest and loudly and actively competed for occupancy rights.  Is it too late for a new clutch of eggs here?  Watch and see!
