Felipe Pimentel (photographer) writes:

Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus). Seen today (12-4) in Long Island, NY. The photo was taken with an 800mm lens from a safe distance.

Hmm, I wonder if BL/Pip see snowies often in the NE....I hadn't known that.

We get lots of them here in MN during years when lemmings and voles are particularly in short supply in Canada.

Happy Friday!

KB you've got us a pondering the geographic boundary   NE

Less than all of your digits lets just say Pip & I combined.   ;)

And we are both missing 3.

Good Morning Beakers!

oldguy, ooh, lots to look at!  Thanks for the entertainment, will check it all out a bit later!

Lani, your good night dog sure looks like a cuddler! AI can produce beautiful pictures, but like I said before, I think somewhere it should be labeled as AI! Love the naughty/nice dog, he looks like a nerd...  ;D ;D

nr, good to see you!

tsk, it always amazes me that even with all the toys we provide out cats, they find the simplest things to play with! Like your Yasso stick and my Healthy Choice fudge bar stick!  Springs and pompoms! And a basket full of other toys! Ed has long strips of leather that they love to drag around. !Got my automatic litter box yesterday but am waiting until after Christmas to set it up!

Lisa, wow, you are doing big changes! I see on many of the home shows they are using Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring, is that what you are getting? When Kay had her floors done that was what they used, throughout the whole house. It was very nice! I want to have both of our baths changed in the coming year. A shower stall in ours and a new tub enclosure/shower door in the other bathroom. We shall see...

Phyl, love the Christmas Cardinals! And Santa's sleigh! Those prank gift boxes, how funny!

National Geographic · Photographer Tony Austin recently captured an extraordinary moment during a 3-hour nature walk. As a murder of crows landed nearby, one of the crows caught his attention with its unusual behavior. Curious, Tony started taking photos—and what he documented was fascinating!
The crow was “anting,” a unique behavior where birds land on anthills, letting ants crawl through their feathers. The ants release formic acid, which acts as a natural insecticide, fungicide, and bactericide—helping the birds rid themselves of harmful pathogens. Nature’s self-care routine at its finest!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good Caturday Morning Beakers

tsk - We are keeping the floors laminate.  The one that looks like wood.  He told me to get a waterproof one.  I picked out one at Home Depot, and I know I should have not done this after I picked it out, I went browsing someplace else and found another one I like.  Im having a hard time deciding now.   Enjoy your day out.  :D

nrstooge - Good to see you.  Oh, would love to see a pic of your holiday tea set.

Lani - I am a lil OCD when it comes to things out of place, so my kitchen being out of place will drive me nuts!

oldguy - Thanks for all the videos.  Need to watch a few more.   :D

clynn - The bathroom remodel is next on our list.  Jeff wants just a shower, but I said no a tub/shower combo.  If we sell this house in the next couple years, someone might see just a shower as a non-selling point.  We only have one bathroom.

Phyl - Yes, lots of improvements, and thanks for the 365!

Puff, kb, tig, karen and all - Morning  :)

Remembering today Jane CR  heavenly birthday

PHYL   Thanks for the Pearl Harbor history review.    12 days of Catmess  LOL   Like the shirt idea instead of a cone - if the cat can tolerate it  LOLOL

LISA   Is there a way you can do some internet research on the brand of Laminate?  Love the ones that look like wood. - In two previous homes Pergo was the newest thing in laminate and we used that to update the kitchen in our first home.  Loved it as it was so easy to clean and not the upkeep of wood floors.
When we built this home the builder said if you don't have a tub in the master it's a no sell to the next buyer.  So we have a useless tub and a walk-in shower we both use.  ::) ::)    As you know  the upstairs has the tub shower combo.

Very interesting kb!  Has to have a purpose between the cats or an understanding/message of  sharing rules.

Clynn  NG  I also found interesting the crow/ant relationship.  That is a great sample of a symbiotic  relationship.

Always like when someone posts Pearl Harbor anything.  If you're ever on Oahu and within 100 miles of the monument IT IS A DEFINITE MUST.  They really have a fine presentation/organization of the whole event.  Not only do they give all the facts and details, you will walk away totally understanding and feeling the emotions and horror so many went through.

A special connection would be my father's involvement.  Being a welder/boilermaker, he was hired and moved to California.  He worked on converting battleship's into aircraft carriers.  He only had 2 or 3 pics of the dock/ship (censored for military).  My second brother, year older than me, was born in SFO.

I have 3 days in a row that get shared with my Dad.  December 6 was his birthday (1918), December 7 the Pearl Harbor association (1941), passed away December 8 (1983), he was only 65.  Even now missed so much. :'(   He was my Christmas coach.  We didn't have anything back in the day, but he loved Christmas and always overdid it.  Wish I could give him a hug.

I'm been feeling nervous since this morning, bad vibes from SWFL.  Mom in nest keeps calling for her partner.  They seem to be panning the area looking for anything.  One short posting about a intruder last evening.  No one posting at all today, just a short signoff last night.  Anyone have news from another source?
