Good Morning Beakers

Lani - I will have to go back and look at the horse video.  I missed it.  I am not sure about her eating it if it was the only food down there.  She is a whiner, so I am sure I would be listening to her whine, and then I would give in.  ;D

tsk - Yes, thankful for places like CROW.  That is a cool enrichment toy!

Puff - I hope you were inside, nice and toasty looking at that view.

Phyl - The Christmas ornament funny!  ;D  Wow, windy for you too!  Thanks for the RRP  blog.

karen - Pretty pic!

kb - We are having those gusty winds today.  Congrats to Wisdom!!

baz - Stop in and let us know how you and Zippo are doing!

clynn - Love your morning pics.  I know we have wasted alot of money on cat food just trying different ones to see what these cats like.  Oh, you are gusty winds too, today!

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Eagles4, Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Clynn, pretty morning pics....  The Hyperion tree so old, ancient almost, can you imagine all the historical events that occured around it... When I walk these hills, I think about what life must have been like. It's like that old olive tree in Italy that you posted a few months ago. Can't you just envision Jesus walking past it...  :)

Tsk, I think I will get my boys a treat puzzle for Christmas. Thanks for the suggestion.

Phyl, Fun videos and info on RRP blog...also, congratulations to RRP for the $6,481 online donations they received Giving Tuesday! .... A few tourists have become lost or needed to be helicoptered out looking for the lost mine. And why is it they are never prepared with having water or good hiking boots and wear.  ???

Lisa, if you go back to look at the horse rescue video you may have to fast forward it. I did, it was difficult. I'm so glad to see the poor horse standing at the end. And the reactions of the cattle dogs were heartbreaking too, they were so concerned... I'm going to go to the Rocky M facebook to see if they post an update.

Hi Kb, Tig, Karen, Puff, Baz, Oldguy  :)

Howdy Beakers!  :)

Well, it's been a week and a day since I was last posting here, and that was after a week since my post before that, so I have at least 2 weeks of posts still to catch up on! I will... sometime... I hope. LOL.

Yes, it's been very busy around here, and I have not even signed on to my computer or checked my email every day, but when I have, it has been mostly only to do must-do business/bills/banking types of things. So I've missed out being here for the most part.

Thanks to all who sent well wishes and asked about Zippo.  :-* :-* She is improving, though she still has respiratory symptoms. She's still eating well, and still being her mostly usual self when it comes to being vocally and physically interactive with me and with her "stuff" that she likes to play and mess with. So that's good. Today is her last day, Day 14, of her 14-day antibiotic prescription. So yesterday I called her vet office to give an update on her symptoms and partial improvement, and asked if I should continue giving her the meds beyond the 14-days prescribed already, and if so, how long? I had already re-filled it last Friday for other reasons. The vet said today to continue her meds for another 14 days, and let her know if things change. Then we will re-assess. She also said that I should continue the meds for 1 week after Zippo's symptoms resolve, if they resolve before completing this 2nd round of 14-day round of antibiotics.

ALERT*************  Just now!! Tsunami warning issued for much of northern California and much of Oregon - just now! 7.0 earthquake registed at 10:44 am Pacific Time off the California coast between, and west of, Eureka and Garberville, CA.

{{{Baz and Zippo}}} wonderful to see your post! I'm so glad Zippo is improving.  Thank goodness the tsunami warning has been cancelled.

SED Phyl, I agree with Tsk, Bramblings at dusk remind me of Hitchcock's "The Birds." I hope Dan's okay.

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, when I was in high school there was a theater in Albion with a free matinee every Saturday. Some of us girls went to see The Birds. That was the scariest movie, I remember covering my head and getting my feet off the floor! What a sweet Christmasy dog! I understand the feelings when you see something like that tree that has seen so much in its time on earth. Even when I see a great wooded area I wonder if there are places there where no one has ever stepped before...

Phyl, hope Dan is okay. I agree, the 365 immediately brought that movie to my mind, it was 1966 or 67 that I saw it but I still remember it vividly! Cozy fire...

tsk, you brought back memories!  I have always wondered how birds that fly in swarms like that manage to keep from running into each other... and they do it so gracefully...

baz, you have been busy! Glad to hear Zippo is getting better!

Lisa, have you got all your Christmas decorations up? I have most of them done but have decided to just have the lights on the tree! It's a very beautiful light show and we are going to have to take the tree down before we go to Mom's, so no ornaments this year! Sam and Sophie have made attempts and are very curious about it.

National Geographic · Whale bones, Norway - Rafters make chilling discovery in crystal-clear water. The photo depicts a group of travelers who came across a startlingly-large spinal column just beneath the surface of the Arctic Ocean. The carcass belonged to a fin whale. The photographer claims that polar bears had been feeding on the vast remains for well over a year.

Montana Osprey Cams - Woo hoo – we have a replacement “dining room table” for the Hellgate ospreys!  NorthWestern Energy has been working on a very exciting project to remove power lines that ran along the Clark Fork River.  While this project will help reduce wildfire risk, the “owl pole” that was one of the favorite perches for Finnegan and Iris was removed as part of this work. But on Tuesday, 3 December 2024, a hardy NorthWestern Energy crew turned up with a new 50-foot pole.  They dug a hole just about exactly where the “owl pole” used to be and put in the replacement pole.  So next breeding season the Ospreys will have a feeding perch right where the old one was! Cheers, Erick Greene and the Montana Osprey Project Team

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown
