Lani - You know I will be sharing.  Jeff bought me a laptop for Christmas this past year, so I will be able to keep up better while I am away.  I hate typing on a ipad!

clynn - Mom & DM2 left a couple years after the maple was taken down.  Mom used the 2nd maple down from the original one for a while, they called that one M2 (Maple 2).  It is still up, and we have seen HM or HD on it just this past year.  Greta pics from Hellgate and DNN!

My beast Puff had a thing for ice.  Ton would be "told" to throw a chunk in his water.  Plus he would go crazy, goofy if a stray piece would drop to the floor when we used the auto ice dispenser. 

So sorry Clynn about the news of your aunt.  Three years after the fact?  Prayers for all.

Yep, 70's here today.  Would like to be out in the yard; too much yesterday though.  Taking a break today.

{{{Clynn}}}, I'm very sorry to read your news about your {{{ Aunt June.}}} Oh my she must have been feeling ill for so long.  I'm so sorry for you and her family. Prayers and hugs  Shannon and her dog Kona joined us for 4th of July evening.... Aly and Dewey arrive on Monday and will stay with us for two weeks. She's got a honey-do list waiting from her old parents waiting for her.  ....

Hellgate Osprey update
To our untrained eyes, the eye seems to be healing well with all eyelids functioning normally. As the vet said, the concern is the cornea. We know Dr. Greene has been in touch with a raptor specialist. Time is a great healer & our positive thoughts and prayers.

Y'all Re: houseboat post, back in the '80s when Cali rent was  astronomically high.  Dan lived on a houseboat at pier in the harbor.  Dad took
a vaca for two weeks and stayed w/Dan. They had fun---one afternoon he was at the pier watching an episode of 'Rockford Files'
filimg---he started to leave so not to get in the shot when James Garner was chasing 'a suspect'.  A production aide approached him
and asked him to stay as a bystander.  He did and got a token check in the mail for 'extra's  pay'.   I was surprised as Dad wasn't a member of SAG and all.   And yes it aired with Dad in the scene. Purdy cool.

this dog finds out he is being adopted....OMG.

Tried sitting in the sun enjoying my back yard gardens. Made it almost an hour while Ollie sniffed out chipmunks under my deck and got too hot. He went inside, LOL and then so did I!

Phyl - Thanks for the article on, Your cat can recognize your voice.  I get emails from VRBO, and a couple days ago houseboats came up as places to rent for your vacay.  Some even had pool sides on the side of them to slide into the lake.

tsk - I am ready for LONG chat, and pizza!     We are still having a scorcher today, not as bad as yesterday tho.  Enjoy Bakers Lake Prairie

PHYL    How cool was that for Dad to be a part of a Rockford File episode  LOLOL  Right place at the right time 

KB   Hysterical - caregiver and the black dog "in love" with her  LOL    Awww that sweet baby being adopted 

SO  We are back.   GPS took me to the smallish parking lot in the prairie.  What - no lake.  We came back after trying to find another way there.   Noticed what I thought was a light post? but why in the middle of the prairie way out in the distance.  With binocs - an osprey nest  with two osprey sitting on the edge.  It was a platform with a few strands of nest material hanging from it.  Further googling said there was a Baker Lake outlook.  But where?  Got an aerial shot and a map of Barrington and we drove to what turned out to be the outlook to this lovely lake surrounded by trees.  AND it is a Rookery.  A man was parked next to us and he noticed my binocs.  I said I was looking to see if I could see the osprey platform from this side of the lake - no dice.  BUT  DID SEE two eagles perched on the structure on the Rookery island - below, the structure were cormorants and great egrets!!!  I was very excited.  Never knew this place existed.
So by trial and error we not only saw the osprey - eagles were thrown into the mix  LOL
