Happy national MN day! A survey says Minnesotans are top of the list in being proud of their state.

Seeing a new doctor today... he is the son of my thyroid specialist that retired. Fingers crossed he will be as good.

Good Morning/Afternoon Beakers

tig - Good luck with new doctor, and Happy National Minnesota Day.

Lani - Aww, your lambs are so cute this morning.

karen - We are expecting that rain tonight, too.  Aww, puppies in their jammies, so cute!

kb - Pretty redheaded woodpecker.

Puff - You have some good, old but goodie stuff.  Was looking at your link to the Parks, and one of my friends used Trafalgar for her bucket list trip to Italy, and she said, it was the best trip she had ever been on.

tsk - An orange apartment...I bet that was cool.

Phyl - I knew about Mayim Bialik, but not Natalie Portman, interesting! I agree on FP making the best developmental toys.

clynn - Hope you are having a great day with the munchkins!  Thanks for the kind words.  Bradley was an early walker, so I wonder if she will take after him on that?  I might be able to do the Eagle Creek Trailhead, holding on to that handrail!   ;D

T40 - Thanks for the link, and trip down memory lane.

E4E - Thank you!  She seems to like it, and her lil car too, they said.

Tsk sadly it still looks like late Fall/ early Winter from my window; hope Margaret is doing well today.

Puff I too have a 'barrel' list. Should Jim 'get lucky' playing Tenn Lottery---as my travel advisor, you'll be one of the first I call.  ;)

KB perfect specimen of Red Headed Woodpecker;  Great video short---Go Woody! Go. That tongue is a great shock
absorber for the brain. Immaculate de-barking.  LOL that G. Shephard.

Lani I still have much of my mother's '60's and 70's household items--some I  use to this day.  If it wasn't broken---it never got replaced. I still use
the wooden handled potato masher from the late 1940's.  Toys, oh yeah.

Tig here's to a great visit and report from  your new doc.  ;)

Lisa Yeah---Natalie Portman did that as a teenager in high school.  It was Elvis who got me standing at an early age---story goes I'd hear him
sing  on Ed Sullivan from my crib ...pull myself up and 'sing' and gyrate my baby hips.   :-[   :-[

Light rain today...seafood pizza, romaine/baby spinach w/ romas and hot cocoa w/ Redi Whipp for dinner tonight.  My 'My Little Old Lady' curled up in my seat
purring and fast asleep.   :-*

Oh, Oh, look what I did.  Got myself all wound up and talking to myself.  May as well share with y'all. . .

Lani Yep you're kinda in the general area of the tour.  And I've been there and done that too.  You recall I was born in Colorado?  Born in Denver, part of my ashes will be spread in the mountains when I die.  That's days and days, weeks and weeks, and years spent in the area. What's nice is the sights and pace of this  2 week program.  Did you open the side panels on the daily coverage?  I feel this is a slow/easy pace.  As a contrast would be a 9 day trip once to Hawaii Island; stayed in 7 hotels, and active schedule from 6a-10p. Glad I went?  Of course!

Phyl I do understand having a barrel.  Problem is I have more free time, but I also now have this fussy body, and the barrel is not full of $$$$.  One more problem is I've not be told how much time is on my clock.  I'm stubborn and I will do whatever I can.  I could tell you instances of some of my people I've helped.  Determination is inborn.  I'm just not done yet.  I'm also not of the mindset to sit and wait in Darien to die.

I do know I'll be making this Trafalgar tour someday, somehow!

Trafalgar does get kudos from their travelers, too.  I also am pleased with their way of servicing me.  I used to be, and at times still am, a control freak.  Pampering and relaxing is not a vice.  Know your wants and the choices and when it's time to take a break.  That being said-- Greece 2020 was too much, too fast, too hilly.  Waited too long to do that.  Budapest 2021 enjoyable and fun.  Super Bowl, parade, game, Santa Monica 2023 was enjoyable and fun and a new solo experience.

You get older you get wiser.  We learn to relax, observe, enjoy.  Ton always was one to nap even during "working" hours.  I haven't started napping yet - but there are times I'll sleep all the way 7 o'clock.  ;D

Style of thinking and living (for me) started changing when I hit 60-65.  I found another great way to travel can be to use/let others make plans.  They drive, move luggage, tell you where to look.

This will be my 12th journey to ATF - sure I'll go again!!!!!

Thanks for your time and patience with my rattle.  Love You All

Bounce

Yep, I found out he has actually been with the group for a year and a half, so he had time to learn even more on the job with his dad. He kept the appt. moving but was attentive to my questions. He explained our plan going forward for monitoring the thyroid and the osteopenia. He explained I should get my dexa scan from the same machine biannually for consistency. There was a blood draw for tests. And my resting pulse was 68 and BP 112/60. I'm the healthiest overweight person I know. LOL.

So... Caitlin is heading to the NBA. Hmmm

Lisa I basically used a Red Lobster recipe with some personal tweaking.

Ultra thin pizza crust not tortillas

Roasted Garlic Butter Spread
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
4 ounces drained    diced  (canned -me)  Roma Tomatoes  drained for 15 minutes in a colander ( I have a special 'thingy' that fits over the can and I drain that way) Not fresh then diced
2 tablespoons fresh Basil
2 ounces  packaged Lobster Meat  drained for 15 minutes in a colander. Same for Crab claw meat. One can ,dice the seafood pieces if desired. I just sprinkle the shreds over the crust and let the pizza cutter do the rest
1/2 cup Italian Six-Cheese Blend
Kosher /Sea Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
1 Lemon to serve (Jim likes this---I don't)

Lightly brush entire topside of crust, edge to edge, with garlic butter.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese over the garlic butter.
After draining the diced tomatoes, sprinkle evenly over Parmesan cheese.
Wash basil and shake off excess water. Pick off leaves and stack on top of one another. Using a chef's knife, cut into 1/8-inch strips. Do not chop. Sprinkle evenly over the diced tomatoes. I use dried basil.
After draining the lobster /crab (claw , I sue) meat, sprinkle it evenly over the tomatoes.
Sprinkle Italian six-cheese blend evenly over the diced tomatoes.
Refrigerate until ready to cook. I make/bake  right before dinning
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Brush a pizza pan or pizza stone lightly with vegetable oil ( for stone use bread crumbs  this is what I do/use) and sprinkle lightly with ground black pepper and kosher/sea  salt. I omit the salt and pepper.
When oven is ready, place pizza on pan  or stone and cook approximately 4 - 5 minutes at most. I usually keep a watch as the
crust is so thin.

Let cool slightly in  pan and cut into 8 wedges. I do this. Not RL

Squeeze fresh lemon over pizza for extra flavor and serve. I don't--

Be sure you drain the tomatoes and the lobster meat before sprinkling them over the pizza shell. Otherwise your pizza will turn out soggy.

Tonight I'm deviating and using softened butter spread over pizza crust and a thin layer of Alfredo sauce then the crab/lobster meat then drizzle w/olive oil. I usually serve white wine or beer.draft cider. And, green salad w/romas oil/vinegar dressing

Puff    Thanks for getting al wound up about travel.   :-*

Tsk I agree the macarons do look 'springy' and tasty; Never eaten at a Culvers--have one in Cool Springs TN.  though.

Tig  congrats on good report from your young new Doc. It helps to like your doctor. My nephew Matthew, Dan's son chose not to finish engineering  classes at USC.   Instead accepted a managerial post w/ McDonalds and a scholarship after a  few years. We shall see.

TIG  ......   Yes too bad Caitlyn chose not to finish college...I'll try and catch that game on Sunday.  right?
TSK
Caitlyn will graduate in May - if she would have decided to stay for a 5th year (Covid extension) she would have to pick a major for grad school.  My thinking is that she did not want to build up on the records in a 5th year of playing, that would likely never happen again for any future players.  She also does not have any more big records to shoot for...  Another factor is that 3 other starters graduate this year - Money is not an issue in her decision - she is the highest paid NIL athlete this year in any sport.  Newspaper estimated that she is making over $800K for this year from her NIL contracts.  The max that she can earn from the WNBA is $250,000 per year.
