Lisa posted pics from the DNN nest rebuild.  Watching it on the rewind, I took some more.  Let's hope RRP posts the whole video, it's really interesting to watch John and Amy build an eagle nest high up the the familiar tree.  No sound on my rewind, so maybe they will add some narration.

Seriously, how many people get to write:  Dear Diary, today I built an eagle nest.    ;D

Numbered the pics in order from the rewind, didn't get times.

They used some sticks and nest material from the old nest, several large bags brought up on the lift and placed and scattered.  Watching the placement of sticks & branches by John & Amy gave me so much appreciation for what the eagles are able to do.

No idea the purpose of the dark spray paint on the bare lumber.  Maybe to deter squirrels from chewing the wood.

How Awesome RRP.    :-*
     The Land owner.    :-*
 The Tree Company.    :-*

The driver of that truck and the vehicle itself _ make it happen.

         Bucket truck.    Smart.

If you can get all the wheels dry up on in there to the base of the oak tree and put the outriggers out solid .

That right there is some great stuff going on in that valley.

If I was an Eagle in the North Valley I'd sleep there tonight .   ;D

I am thinking the dark spray paint was to make it look more like a branch?

What fun to watch the construction of the nest! Thanks to those doing the building and to those posting pictures!

I wonder if the spray was a wood preservative.

Has there been any eagle interest in the re-build platform?

Last year the eagles never came for the fish.
Wonder WHEN LIVE cam  will be turned on.

RRP posted on SEP 7 that MrN and DNF visited the new nest. See the Home page or Facebook for video.  It's black and white, so before dawn on Saturday.  Such joy in my heart to see them again.   Will we call this nest DNN2???

Shep, I recall that eagles did not come for fish on N1 when it was rebuilt.  I always thought because there were too many fish.  And this time at DNN, only two small fish and the nest mice got them.  Trust the eagles is still the best motto.
