DN18 (I think) spent the night and daybreak on the old nest Perching branch. After some flying around, by about 6:00 the Twiggy Tree was the place to be:  MrN high up and both eaglets in lower branches.  About 10:30, both eaglets moved to the Cattle Corner Tree, dead tree just south of the wide cattle path.  Does this tree have another moniker from past years?

MrN (I think) is making the rounds this afternoon.  2:00 in the Claw Tree, 3:00 flew one tree north of Claw, 3:30 in the BPT, 3:45 back in the tree one north of Claw. The cattle herd passed by the Brush Pile area about 2:00 but no pic.  The eaglets seem to be elsewhere this afternoon.  DNF is away also.

DN18 overnight at old nest branches again. Flew to join MrN in Claw Tree about 5:40AM and by 7:15, DN17 flew in also.  MrN flew out of sight. Eaglets returned to the old nest branches for a short while about 7:45, calling but no food delivery.  About 8:00, DN17 flew to a tall pine tree top out by the farm buildings and DN18 to a dead branch in the vicinity.  Rewind shows soaring in the far distance a bit later.  That's it up to posting time almost 11:00.

Just a Friday morning in the North's valley.  Beautiful sunrise, eagles perching, goldfinch at thistles.

DNF and DN18 have taken up residence in the Twiggy Tree.  It's 8:00 in the evening, and they have been there since before 4:00 today.

Morning with one eaglet in the Twiggy Tree at 6:00.  It flew away and in a minute both eaglets and an adult (or Sub-a) were flying over the pasture toward the creek. The adult/sub went to the BPT then flew to the south and maybe a food drop under the Twiggy Tree where an eaglet followed. DNF landed in the lower Twiggy Tree branches right after, so it probably was her in early pics.

One of the eaglets in the BPT at 7:00 AM.  About 7:30, the eaglet gets flushed out by an adult or sub-adult. Both flew away and eaglets haven't been seen since (as of 2:00 this afternooon).

Nice closeups of a gray catbird and a male rose-breasted grosbeak mid-morning.  The cam ops continue to be getting great views!

About noon, DNF in the Cattle Corner Tree, eating something furry.  No eaglets present.

Wildflowers everywhere this time of year!  These are ox-eye dasies, near the old nest and thistles.

Close to 2:00, DNF is in one of the far pine trees, while the cattle are grazing near the old nest.

MrN flew from the Spit Tree to the BPT about 5:30 this morning.  At about 6:00 he flew away to the north and out of sight.  No eagles in sight from then to posting time.  Very quiet on the rewind.  Here's a pic of Fleabane, wildflower, that goes by several names.  In my garden, it tends to be prolific, but bees & butterfles love it, it's tall and fragrant, and blooms from spring to late fall.  See also good online resource for plants.

About 2:30 this afternoon, parent BE perching north of the Claw Tree, in low branches as cattle pass by on the pasture side of the creek.

At about 3:00, both DNF and MrN were together on a branch in the same area, a bit closer to the Claw Tree, and above the patch of white wildflowers where a bunch of geese were feeding just before.  Could they be celebrating the end of this season's parent duties?  In 2022, the last time there were eaglets here, one was still present in the middle of August.  Keep watching, y'all.    :D

Several days have passed without sightings of the eaglets.  The adults are on view this afternoon in various creek trees, not sure which bird is which because of the distance.

STLbf - Thank you so much for your photos and reporting during the time many were attending the ATF.  It's nice to return home and and have life in the North's valley ready for review.  Great photos (and labeling), and info about fleabane :)  Beautiful mornings too...

Thanks for enjoying the pics and commentary, MNLinda!  I've learned a lot about a lot of things watching the eagles over the years.

RRP posted a note at the Chat screen -- DN17 last seen on July 18 and DN18 last seen on July 20.  Here's hoping that they find locations where the black flies aren't so bad.

MrN had a nice long bath in the creek this morning before 8:00, then spent a couple hours drying off and preening.  He's looking pretty rough from scratching at black fly bites, but you can tell it is him from the white lump at his right eye.

Hazy sunrises all around this area might be from Canadian wildfire smoke.  Confirm??

I also want to thank you, STL, for sharing your daily documentation of the North Nest season with us. As always, watching this beautiful eagle family has been a joy and a privilege. I've also appreciated the labeling of your pics; I save quite a few of them, and the labels provide details and context that could easily be forgotten. It would be great to see our beautiful D17 and D18 again, but I wish them long and safe journeys if they're already on their way to independence. I'll perch as often as I can for glimpses of Mr. North and DNF and all of the other wildlife we're fortunate to see in the valley.

nanimal, thanks, and I'm so happy that you enjoy the pics and comments.  Pics are thanks to the intrepid camera operators, and comments are the teacher in me that can't just post a pic without talking about it!!

DNF was in the lower branches of the Twiggy Tree about 7:00 this morning.  At about 10:30, the cam ops found a person fly fishing in the creek, not far from the new fence area.

Wondering what John and Amy had to say during ATF about the nest situation here.  Surely there will be a post or blog soon.
