CLynn nice school photos; tks for Lesly; pretty rustic pumpkin flora. Tks for Estonia Osprey update. Horst was our source on that nest.
Bella's hair-blunt cut ends are suppose to be the 'rage'.  Luv the 'do' though.  Wednesday for Joseph.

Lisa worked on PC all AM think the annoyance id resolved. We shall see.

KB too bad 'no' Andrew. But, as you said could be for the best.

E4E nice AM; {{Star}}

Bazi  :)

Lani  Dan has  taken  me pier fishing off  Oceanside docks/beach. Tks for the  Royal updates. Great snap of UQ mid=air; Otis updates too

Good evening!  Great posts
and wonderful Fall pictures!  Clynn, I love the pumpkin and the flowers!  Lisa and Eagles, pretty flowers!
Had a busy day today with stuff!   More tomorrow!   May go out for the rsv vaccination tomorrow pm!  And I think another pneumonia shot.
The pictures of the bears are great Lani.  The change of mates isn't too bad when you read that the missing mate cannot be found!  Do not like the idea that Harriet died but I believe she did!  So it goes!  Had almost forgotten the Estonia nests. Thanks for the reminders!
Fishing tackle!  Tim and Tom may get that road trip and need it! Ed can gift the munchkins with the camping stuff and take them for a great outdoor experience!  Lol!
Have to clean the kitchen up!  Oh, I worked an early shift in downtown Chicago!  Great to beat the rush hour traffic!   Seds

LisaG - That is so good that Jeff is working from home a couple of days a week.  It saves on fuel and there are fewer interruptions when working from home - so therefore more productivity  :)    Thank you for hugs for my little Star - she always loved going with us anywhere and traveled really well in a vehicle. :)

Lani - Liked the fishing report with Otis and love the pic of 747 and Otis.  Like the picture of 503.   Thank you so much for the latest on UQ chick and love all the fantastic pictures!!    You are definitely a survivor of the fittest and I'm sure it has not been an easy ride, but you and Mike make a great couple and a great Team!!
I read what you said to Clynn about E-D introducing other animals, critters, wild birds, etc.  How special he brought this to you.   I sure wish we could know how E/D's little Maxie is doing these days.

Kb - Hope Andrew comes by tomorrow.  You are smart to already be looking ahead to get your yard ready for the change in weather!

Clynn - Liked reading what you posted to Lani.   What a beautiful picture of one of the survivors from the goshawk attack that occurred in 2021.
Talon & Bella's school pics are so precious - thank you for sharing!!!!   I know you liked combing and fixing Bella's hair! :)

Baz -  :)

Tsk - Wow, Tim has everything he needs to do some fishing!! 8) ;D

Beakers have a nice evening / sleep well  :)

Tsk,  I like BL's comment to you  ;D

Lisa, Well, I'm so glad for you that Jeff works home on those awful busy traffic days. I hope you've been feeling well. Hugs for Misty and Bandit.  :)

BL  ;D

SED Phyl, Special memories for you  :)..  I have good memories of going fishing/crabbing with my brother off the Pearl Harbor piers.  :)

SED Karen, great idea for Ed, munchkins and camping gear!  ;D

Eagles, I have thought about Horst's Maxie so often. I do hope Maxie settled in with Horst's son's girlfriend. I was sad when his son closed Horst website. I wonder how big Horst's little grandson Johnny is now? Probably a teenager  ;D. .... Take care  :-*

Royal Albatross ~ UQ Gets A Supp Feeding! ♥ A Chick Comes Over Wheeing! GLY Or L Brief Visit 9.21.23

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tpG6e4qu-U

Sep 20, 2023
UQ stayed below the hill for the most part of the day but did pop his head up so that we could get some great zooming on him!! Later in the morning, UQ is walking around and sees the basket people arriving one more time. The rangers weigh UQ (he came in at 7kg which is a bit low) so they give him electrolytes of 600ml and 1kg of fish & squid - bringing his weight to 8.6kg which is much better.

One of the neighbor chicks comes by wheeing excited for a feed too! This chick has been receiving regular supp feedings as well and can smell the fish/squid in the container. When the rangers were finished with the feeding, they get up to leave and the chick turns around and leaves as well.

Later, UQ is in his spot below the hill when one of Manaaki's parents is seen flying in.  :-* They walk up the hill and sit next to UQ for a brief visit. It might be Mama Lime, she looks up at the empty nest as UQ is wheeing and begging for a feeding. She does not stay long - she was kind to UQ chick  :-* , perhaps realizing now that Manaaki is really gone and so she flew off in a beautiful departure over the sea. She circled around, perhaps saying her goodbyes for the season as she disappeared into the horizon. It is time for her to head to South America as her work here is finished. Both GLY & L have done a great job raising Manaaki and they should be very proud. ♥ Thank you for watching!

Video captured & edited by Lady Hawk

Good night!

UQ has settled into his old nest, where his mom waited for him to give a feeding yesterday. He's been there since his feeding from the rangers.  :-*

Good Morning Beakers

Morning kb and all  :)

Phyl - Fingers cross you got everything worked out on the PC.

karen - Mama went and got her RSV shot yesterday.  I am headed to Sam's next week for flu, and last year they wanted to give me the pneumonia shot, I said no, but I think I am going to get it this year.

E4E - You are correct about working from home being more productive.  Jeff says, he gets more work done at home, then in the office with people stopping by his desk wanting to chit-chat.  The only thing he misses on Thur & Fri is his walks with two other co-workers, he says.

Lani - I have been good, no use complaining when no one wants to hear about it.  ;D
Thanks for the update on UQ.

For those that may want a few more.....Free COVID test kits are coming back. Here's how to get them.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lisa, beautiful zinnias, love the colors. I am going to try planting some zinnias in the Spring! I think it's a good thing to get the vaccines, last time I was at Sams Pharmacy they told me it was time for the new Covid, pneumonia, RSV and flu. I asked if I could get all of them at once and they said yes. I don't know though, think I will split it into two visits. Don't want double sore arms! WF has the same schedule as Jeff's work, two days at home, 3 on site. Erin thinks they are trying to get back to all on site, but I think they are going to catch flack over that. It was documented that workers were more productive working from home, but I think a lot of the higher ups really don't like working from home all that much.

Lani, awww, sweet video of UQ and Manaaki's Mom sitting with him for a bit, and then her beautiful gliding off into the distance! I have also wondered about Maxie and how she is doing these days. I so remember when Horst found out, after all those years that Max was Maxie, we all had a good laugh over that! Somehow I can't imaging these two technology-raised kids camping! But we should try it at least once. I could see them in a cabin in the woods, with internet access!

karen, yes, you should get all those vaccines! Yes, Ed can take the Munchkins camping... ::) ::)

tsk, Ed has brought several fishing poles home from DAV, he just can't resist a 'good buy' even if it is something he won't ever touch again. He took Erin fishing once or twice when we first moved to Iowa (1996). I will tell you some of the great 'collections' Ed has! Books and cookbooks, he doesn't read books or cook. Flashlights. Bottle openers. Jewelry. Buttons, Hot Wheels, Legos, Lincoln Logs, Kinex, Little Golden Books. Frisbees, print tennis shoes (like Ed Hardy), wooden figures, paper weights, banks.  There's more... continued later...

Phyl, sorry you were having computer problems, I know how that is! Puts me in tears when it happens, especially if I can't get ahold of Erin. Thank goodness I have a laptop too, it has saved me a couple of times!  It's just a simple one, nothing fancy, well worth the $$. Yes, I agree, Bella's hair is the style...and she is still cute but I want to comb it! I remember how Mom fussed over our hair on school picture day! Cute morning pic! Oh, the banana seat bicycle, love it! Another very pretty sunrise on the Flyway! The vintage Oreos remind me of the Girl Scout cookies I sold, 50 cents a box. Now $6.

tsk, I bought our new bed online last year, it is a Ghost bed. I checked reviews etc and ordered it, there was a 90 day guarantee. I wondered how it could be returned though, it came all sucked up in a box that it would never fit back into!

eagles4 - well not that smart ;)...it takes me a whole month to prepare for winter and it's not unusual to get small amounts of snow in October.....it takes at least a month on the spring side as well...all for a short maybe 4-5 month summer....LOL...at least I'm not a food farmer in the upper midwest.

My to do list before ground freezes and am sure not complete:
leaf pick up of grass...for weeks and at this time I bag it after it gets too thick..at least once per week.
bring in all garden art
rabbit proof feet and feet of vegetation.
wash outside windows
weed gardens and cut back some but not all perennials
check outside house for any caulking need
winterize vehicle
dump all annuals
Bring in all chemicals, paint etc to inside laundry room or they freeze
Put all deck furniture under cabana.
You get the picture!

I've finished my outdoor painting goals this summer...
Next summer I need to re-oil my decks, on my hands and knees last time it took me 3 weeks..
Andrew will re-build my front door roof over steps
Andrew will deliver and lay out at least a yard and a half of landscaping rock (needs refreshing) and mulch

My ash tree this morning....ash trees are the first tree to change color and drop in Minnesota:
