Current 58 - high of 72

Lani - I bet you are correct that Horst's Grandson could be a teen now!   Glad that UQ got some food from the Rangers - love the picture.

LisaG - Walking with friends at work is fun and I can understand that's what Jeff misses!   Thanks for providing link for free test kits.

Tsk - Will they take away your old mattress at the time they deliver your new one?   Enjoy the new!

Phyl - Cute gif this morning.  Hope you get your PC working right for you.   Like the bike!

Clynn - Probably a good idea to split the vaccines into a couple of different days - save your arm. :)   I too, remember when Horst told us that Max was really a Maxie. :)    Ed sure has a lot of 'treasures'!! ;D
Lol those brownies! ;D   Like the Jimmy Buffet pull-over top!

Kb - That is quite a 'To-do' list you have!  No wonder you start preparing early.  Beautiful ash tree - lots of leaves to be picked up later. ;)

We are dealing with smokey skies - yesterday was very poor quality, and the news says today will be a tad better, and tomorrow should be better.  We are getting smoke from wild fire in northern CA and near the Oregon border.   My eyes were teary yesterday due to the smoke.

I need to get ready to pick up my mom for a doctor appt this morning - need to be at her place at 8:50.

Beakers have a nice day  :)

Phyl - Thanks, and pretty colorful tree-houses.  Pretty Flyway pic.

clynn - ROFL at the brownies!  Yes, I would be splitting up the vaccines too, if I had to get all of that at one time.  I did get the flu and shingle shot in separate arms last year, and arms were sore for a few days. The managers and senior managers at Jeff's work do get two days of telework, too.  They didn't at first.

kb - Ash tree looks pretty with the leaves turning.

E4E - You're welcome.   :)  Good luck with your mom's appointment.

Temps are mid to high 80s but Monday it will be 90!   Somehow that is crossing a line! Lol.

Will be getting all 4 vacs, just not sure in what combo!  Think rsv and pneumonia together today or tomorrow!  Covid next week and flu mid October!  The flue season peaks in Jan/feb, I think and I do not want the shot to have lost much of its effectiveness by then.  Lisa, i have not had reactions to these shots except for a sore arm, maybe!  I like pfizer and Publix is not doing them this year!  Will trek across the street to Walgreens!
Tsk, Betsy Walgreen went to Oak Park High School!  I was in Chicago about 5 years ago for my high school friends 80th birthday lunch and we were all astounded at the traffic, growth, etc!  Prior to that at our 50th reunion a guy from out of town was driving us from OakBrook to Down town and we could not direct him from the shopping center to the Eisenhower!  He was frustrated and said, I thought you girls lived here!   We said, theychanged everything!   We did get there. Lol.
Great flowers again this am!   Love the little houses!

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Kb, it was a sweet video of UQ.... nice pics of your Ash tree leaves changing. The Maples have started turning their gorgeous red colors here. Another nippy morning here too.
You've got a good list. I've got mine on the refrig. I need reminders these days.  ;D

Hi Lisa  :)

Tsk, We need to buy a new mattress too, but we're not going to do it online. What brand did you get?

Phyl, pretty sunrise on the Flyaway!

Clynn, never heard of "Ghost Bed" ... LOL over the brownies... cute sweatshirt.  :)

Eagles, sorry about the smoke. I'm not sure your location to check out the nearest fire.  Here is a government site to help identify and they post current conditions.  https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/
We have a lightning cause fire called "Valentine" that is 27 miles to the East of Payson started Aug 16th. No smoky skies today, the wind is blowing the opposite direction. It's 68% contained. I pray you get some wind to blow the smoke out of your area, and the fire is contained. Also, prayers for your mom's dr appt.... Take care

Mike is on his way home today.
He should land in Phoenix after 1pm.  ;D

HOWDY BEAKERS!  :)

I enjoyed all the posts I just now caught up on from last night and so far today.  :)

I'm heading out for errands so I can stay home Friday and Saturday. It will be windy and rainy here both days.

The National Hurricane Center started issuing advisories, and a cone with a track, at 11 am eastern time this morning - calling it Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 (PTC 16) for now, since it hasn't actually formed yet. If it does, it will probably be named Ophelia. It could form into either a tropical storm, or a sub-tropical storm.  They have already issued Tropical Storm Warnings for coastal areas from Wilmington, NC up to Ocean City, MD, with storm surge expected. Those warnings may get extended farther north as time goes by. I expect lots of rain and winds over 40 mph where I am, and I'm not officially inside the cone. Impacts will reach far beyond the center of this storm, no matter what it is eventually categorized as.

People with coastal interests from SC to NY and beyond, take note and keep updated as changes are forecast.

HEADS UP, LISA! Plan your bridge crossings accordingly!

Later, Beakers. Have a great day!

LISA   You should probably get a pneumonia shot.  I had asked my doc in July if I should get another pneumonia shot as Walgreens had sent a prompt.  Doc said no. - Last one was Jan of 2013   Sterns and Foster Ultra Firm.

PHYL   What are your PC issues?  Maybe OLDGUY can help? or LORI?   Beautiful flyway.  Love the old ads.  Amazing what they used to glorify - smoking while pregnant for one.  :o :o

CLYNN   Love the pumpkin with flowers.  I always say I'm going to try that one year and I never do.  :P  Doc said I did not need RSV....OH MY - Ed does like to collect  ;D ;D ::) ::)       LOLOL  Cast iron brownies - Tim would eat them  LOLOL

KB  Lots of things on your list are on mine too  ;)   Love the ash tree pic.

EAGLES  Yes - altho they don't tell you that they charge for taking away the old mattress/box spring.  Caught between a rock and a hard place - What would we do with it??? and they weigh a ton. :o     So worth it to me.   Hope Mon's appt is just a recheck?

KAREN   Did not know that about Betsy Walgreen  LOL  I remember when you came to town and we couldn't find a time to meet... :(

LANI    I did due diligence and checked Consumer reports and other mattress evaluators - Of the 10 mattresses they recommended 8 of them were on line.....I don't think I could ever do that. Now we have two mattress stores near by - one in town actually.  Checked both of them out and both carried the same name brands but liked the service in one over the other.  Tim chose Sterns and Foster ( ultra firm).  They also carried Beautyrest and Sealy and one other name brand - the name eludes me.  Mind you, none of these appear on any  "best mattress" lists that I saw...Mattresses last 10-12 years these days as there are only 1 or two brands that you can still flip.   We are not likely to need another mattress in our lifetime  LOLOL    I tried to make the bed and to tuck in the new mattress cover or the sheets ( new to fit the 12" deep mattress) I could barely lift the corner of the mattress.  Sigh.
I remember, was it last year, the fires were really scary around you.  Good to have Mike back - Did you get your list of chores done  LOL?

tsk - I think I will get the pneumonia shot.  Is yours a flip or pillow top?

baz - There will be no crossing of the bridge on Saturday!   ;D  You be safe too with impending storm.  I was just looking at TWC app on my phone, and I am in the red cone zone.

Lani - 503 looks like they are smiling.   :D  Hope Mike has a safe trip home.

karen - Glad to hear that you have not had any reaction except the sore arm.

Nice Mn picture!
Just home from getting rsv and pneumonia shots!   One in each arm and both hurt like the dickens!  Did a little shopping in Publix while I was there and they do not feel sore now!  Will see in the am!
MD who had told me i did not need pneumonia vac changed his mind!  Will get covid next week!  Flu lter, I think.

Although I have a leaf rake I have rarely used it! I mowed with a grass catcher and got the leaves up with it!  Some times dumped it in beds to mulch!  One year, in Chicago, I did not do the last mow before months of snow covered the whole yard!  I was concerned that I would ruin the lawn with mold!  We suddenly had a very warm spell in February and I got the mower out with the catcher on it!  My grass was amazing!  Green as could be!  A neighbor of my Dads saw me and called him asking if I was nuts and thought it was spring!  My dad  said no, she is actually late with her Fall clean up.

Taught me not to stress if every thing is not done on time!

Lani, glad Mike is almost  home!   UQ was fed!

East coasters stay safe!

LisaG - Thank you, my Mom's appt went okay.

Karen - Good for you in getting those shots and that your arms aren't too sore now!   Love the story of your Dad and his reply to his neighbor. ;D

Lani - Thanks for the map of wild fires - that is really helpful.  Yaaay! Mike should be home by now! :)

Bazi - Take care with those storm situations - good idea that you have planned to stay home for the weekend and make sure you have lots of food, drinks, & treats! {{Bazi}}

Tsk - About 3 yrs ago we ordered a mattress from Costco and it got delivered in a box over here.  Hubby took our old one to the Landfill where they will take them for free.   It is so nice to get a new mattress - hope you like yours!

Kb - Wow that is quite a gorgeous photo that Camper took!!!

Tig - Beautiful pics with your phone!   Love those pretty autumn colors!

Beakers have a good night - SEDs

My mom & I had great quality time together; just her & I!  We went out to a nice breakfast place and then came back to my house for a little bit, then we went out and ran a couple of errands, then I was ready to take her to Kohl's but she was tired, so we will go another day!

Lisa, thanks. Yes, you're in the cone, and have a tropical storm warning. Maybe not bridge crossing on Sunday there, either.  ;)  I noticed The Weather Channel is doing live coverage of the storm till 1am tonight, even though their TV Guide doesn't show it - last minute line-up for them. The next full storm update (cone/track and intensity) will be 11pm tonight, and then 5 am in the morning, and 11 am Friday (eastern, of course). They will do intermediary advisories (location, warnings) 3 hours before and after each of those full updates... just FYI. The heavy rain will get to you waaay before the center does - and the higher winds, too (starting for the Delmarva Friday evening, not late). It's loaded on the north side of the center. At least, that's the way things look at the present. Everything can change.  ;)

E4E, thanks. Glad you had such a nice day with your mom.  :)  Yep, I got my errands all run today, and trash out, etc., so I can stay high and dry at home with Zippo Friday and Saturday. Got my storm snacks! Shrimp, fresh organic baby greens, yummy ripe strawberries (they smell divine, too!), fresh deli-made ready-to-cook pizza, dark chocolate almonds, and chocolate peanut butter ice cream!!!  ;D ;D

Tig, great pics.

Tsk, ahhh... a new mattress! Enjoy! And sleep... sleep... sleep...  :)

Karen, glad you got your vax, and arms not sore after you shopped.  :)

Have a good evening, All. Peace.

Bounce
We luv our Tempur-pedic medium soft mattress. We turn it head to toe yearly. It allows my hip area to settle in and adds support for me knees so I may sleep on my back at times.
I only got the front mowed after supper before the mosquitoes came.
