Good Evening Beakers

We had some spotty light showers go through the area a couple of times today - .01 to .04 inches for the day - was not on the forecast.  Forecast has rain for the next 3 days, but every update to the forecast has changed the amount of rain from a low of a quarter inch to a high of 1 inch for the 3 days total.  The current forecast is half in. for the 3 days.

An interest update on the experiment done about 1 year ago of hitting an asteroid with a space craft.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, glad Mike is safe at home again, you two have a wonderful peaceful weekend! UQ looks all snuggled in for the rain with his full tummy...

oldguy, good videos, Maru definitely loves wearing beer boxes!

Phyl, well, if you have the cast iron cornbread pan you can make those lovely brownies! Pretty sunset on the Flyway, lots of egrets? Cute picture this morning! Our high will be 73 today, with some rain likely.

baz, sounds like you have the essentials all lined up for a possible storm! Yum!

E4E, our trash pickup here has stickers you can buy to put on large things that don't fit in the trash can. A mattress costs $10 to have them pick it up. An extra bag of trash is $1. Makes it pretty convenient to get rid of those big things. $35 to have them pick up a big appliance. I have no idea where the dump is!

karen, kudos for getting those vaccines! You are getting around pretty good, getting stronger!

Talon got his orange belt!

CLynn  Last night's sunset was taken of Lesser Flamingos at  Kamfers Dam, Kimberly, South Africa. And those are flamingos pictured. Congrats to Talon on his 'orange belt' achievement. Wildheart Ranch , Keebler looks so comfy.
LOL...doubtful I'd be making 'brownies' in her corn stick pan.

EAGLES   Nice day with Mom - gives Sis a bit of a break as well.  :)

BAZI   Boy you sure are set for the storm  ;D  Thanks for the report - Hope you can all stay safe today.

TIG   Your mention of mosquito reminds me that I have not had one bite this year!!!  It sure has been wet enough lately.  What we have had tho are some feisty squirrels trying to have their way with a number of females in the neighborhood.  A large maple tree branch in our yard seems to be a very popular rendezvous . ;) ;)  :o :o

OLDGUY   Love store and library and fire station cat stories  ;D     That Claire - she sure takes on a lot! But she has a lot of help. Great piece on why cats sleep with you.

LANI  Mike's home and hopefully can use today as one of resting up.

CLYNN   Congrats to Talon.  I think that is a great program for kids to build strength and confidence.  the kids look so much like their parents  ;D

PHYL   Was not able to connect to that sight.

Off to Milwaukee today .  Instead of our annual golf tourney with Tim and I and my two brothers - considering my surgery earlier this year and Tim's balance issues - we are doing a miniature golf tourney and that way my brother's wives can participate.  We will award the trophy to the best couples score  LOL  Then we'll get lunch together.  Should be a nice catch up day.

See you all later

Happy Friday all!

Well, Andrew is now coming next week for my 3 of 5 final projects for him....it's okay with me.

So, I mowed the back yard hill yesterday picking up a ton of leaves....HAHAHA....this morning it is raining ash leaves on my deck and yard....maybe 50 percent down now?...will happen fast which is okay with me.
I already filled the 2 garbage cans down the hill so they will need dragging up and dumped before my next mow....I still have a huge maple at the corner of my back yard to drop but that one tends to drop straight down.

My neighbor's ash leans way over my property line which is now yellow...I already paid myself to have many large limbs leaning almost to my roof a few years back, but they wouldn't go higher up to cut more as it would "look funny"...oh okay. It drops on my tiered perennial gardens on top of the mulch which makes it unmowable and a hand pick up job in the spring..I'm praying this year for a strong Northerly wind soon!

I don't understand how his ash which is really too close to his newer built garage and NOT treated is doing okay..I guess he benefits from all the rest of us who do pay treat against ash borer?

Lani - that is sort of like the video pic of UQ I watched yesterday just after sun up for hours..I got concerned with no movement after awhile. That is until a few hours later I saw the Rangers feed him..

Prediction is for 1/2 inch of rain or more over the next several days. would be the best rainfall since last winter if it holds..Crossing my fingers and going to mow the front shortly in advance.

Tsk, enjoy your morning of miniature golf!   Lol.   Haven't seen one of those in ages!   Have a good lunch!

Clynn, Kris needs to work on the vw bus in your am picture!  Might take him all winter!  Love tge family picture of Talon and his orange belt with Bella trying to steal the attention with her pose!  Soooo funny!
73 this morning but cool with a  breeze out of the NE!  Nice but warming up!
Those on the East Coast stay safe from the weekend winds from number 16!  No surfing!

Phyl, my Publix doesn't make appointments!   Just walk in!   The arm with the rsv vac is still sore!   Since i wanr a Pfizer covid vac, I will go to Walgreens!  Think I repeat myself but Publix has a company that is just now in the game.  Probably fine!  Flu season does not peak until Jan or Feb, so I will wait a little for that one.
Glad my rsv was in my left arm!

LOTS  happening is my excuse also ran out of recipe cards - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.  I was going to be fancy dancy and use the cards for Lani, Phyl, E4E, and tsk who originally asked for me to share.  Then, I decided to just give you all a job.  I mentioned up front that it was a special salad.  And. . . .Now I wish I had the lettuce - I want a salad.  ::)

CAESAR  SALAD
Recipe From     LaNora/Puff
Serves                6 to 8

Ingredients:

Salt
1 large garlic, or about 5 cloves, peeled and minced/pressed
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
hot sauce, favorite brand, 4 - 6 drops, careful!
I have sauce from the Caribeen which tends to be HOT.
     I use maybe 2 or 3 drops
Anchovy paste  -   3 long squiggles
Anchovies also OK to smash, but then only about 1/2 can
3 tablespoons oil, I use Mazola corn oil rather than olive oil
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 - 4 bunches of romaine lettuce, torn apart to bite size
2 hard boiled eggs, diced up (raw eggs not appealing to me)
1/4 to 1/2 cup fresh grated Romano cheese
1/2 bag caesar croutons
Freshly ground pepper
3-4 clumps romaine lettuce

Sprinkle bottom of wooden salad bowl with salt and rub whole garlic
cloves into wood.  Then mince garlic.
Add Dijon, lemon juice, hot sauce, anchovy.  Stir until salt dissolves.
Add corn oil and vinegar.  Stir until blended.
Add romaine and toss.
Add croutons and cheese and toss well.
Serve with freshly ground pepper.

And you know what I always say. . . . .ENJOY!
