HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

Karen, LOL, my shrimp and lobster salads were from my grocery store's fresh sefood counter. It was yum, but I didn't make it. Glad Piper's vet visit went well.

Waving to All the Beakers!  :D

I'm getting ready to steam some fresh broccoli and fresh yellow squash for late lunch. I had some of the same yesterday - between my shrimpmasalad and lobstermasalad. LOL - gotta have my veggies!  ;D  I split the yellow squash like "boats" and then after they're steamed, I fluff them up in the center, like twice-baked potatoes, and squish in some grated parm.  I'm going to thaw some frozen shrimp and broil them on skewers later, for dinner.  I'm still using my broken refrigerator!  :o ;)  so, unless it can be eaten fresh, or frozen, then it doesn't come in the house. This has gone on for months now. My freezer works great, thankfully. I have been trying to get to the bottom of my freezer before I replace my fridge. That's been an adventurous challenge these last few months. ;D   I would've gotten to the bottom of my freezer by now if I could just stop pouncing on "can't-pass-up" specials in the meat and seafood dept. at my grocery, like that shrimp salad and lobster salad yesterday!!  ::) ;D  I have mostly stopped myself from doing that now though, so it looks like I will finally empty my freezer sometime in August... it's takes longer when there is only 1 person dining... LOL.  Yesterday, I took an inventory of what's left in my freezer - except for a few pieces of rotisserie chicken, and 1 small steak, it's all shrimp (2 kinds) and fish (cod, tuna, salmon), and a handful of small "Smart Ones" frozen meals (chicken and broccoli). Don't let me buy anything else for my freezer!  ::)  I'm ready to get a new refrigerator, so I can have my regular refrigerated foods again! But in the meantime, some of my kitchen adventures have been interesting.  LOL.   8)

Later, gators!  :D

oldguy - OMG Monkey is fabulous.....interestingly, Ollie's early trainer always suggested he do agility training as she saw something in him that would be good at that......

I'm a little perplexed?....My insurance company says they changed my sewer line endorsement in 2020 and they didn't need to inform me...from 10,000 replacement coverage to 2,500 for homes older than 50 years..
Yes, my home is 65 years old now, but they never informed me nor did I sign the change..
I called the Dept. of Commerce to investigate if they needed to inform me with my signature.....apparently they may have not needed to if they sent me an annual change.....they will investigate for me as I don't have it in me to do so.
My agent was super nice, a newbie as mine is on maternity leave, and will bring my complaint higher up.
I mean we are talking about a 5,500 dollar claim for which i've paid for a 10,000 claim for years...
Means the difference fo

Ugg, I know 2020 was a nightmare esp for me as Scott died and covid....but still.
I will know by the end of the week if State Farm will change their mind: doubtful, and in 2-3 weeks if the Dept of Commerce determines if they followed state law....
In the mean time I flush without putting toilet paper down the toilet.

Have to admit - not unpacked yet.  Here I am taking a break while I sip some tea.  Schedule?  Unpack tomorrow, (first have to retrieve some natural beauty, something to wear) run some errands, water where still necessary, get started on getting some laundry done.

LisaG I've driven the MD/NJ 13 original colonies states, only a slight improvement from here - and then too there's all those  rotaries  >:(  Don't know if I even would try that bridge.

Clynn Plastic bags are carried and used "across the pond".  They charge extra for bags so people always have one on their person.  French ladies with the latest fashions always have on their person.  And even saw in Russia where there are zillions of fur coated bodies with fur coats (inherited no doubt) but still with a plastic bag hanging from their pocket.  Plastic bags live a whole different life in some places.  Charge about 25 cents each bag.

E4E  As I said, not settled back in.  Will take week or so.  But worth it for ATF.

Lani  Lots of pride evident in your post and on the faces of nephew and nephew's son.

baz & tsk  Cute little guy!

tsk I was going to call after the first front went by earlier, news showed some storm damage by you.  Easy peasy here.  But to return/continue later tonight they say.

Have to definitely comment -- Puppy is a winner NOT a monkey.  How smart, well trained, and agile.  Owner has to be proud of the work they do together.   ;D  For sure he deserves a steak!

Good Evening Beakers

I spent most of my mid-morning and afternoon at the car dealership.  The AC in my car went on the fritz the Friday before I was leaving for Decorah.  It would work on and off, but on the way home, it was more off then on.  They filled it up with freon, but the compressor is what is not working.  I have an extended warranty on the car, but they have to get approval first for the part, as the Honda compressor is on backorder and they can get one from someplace else, but it is more money.  I am hoping they call me tomorrow, and let me know what's going on, cause it is hot as you know what riding around with no AC!

Kb - Did it stop raining?  Mama arrived around 4:30 in Minneapolis for her Miss Fisher Con.  I am waiting to hear from her.  She said, the baggage claim at airport was taking forever.

clynn - How exciting for the Sydney Sea Eagles!

tsk - Your morning greeting looked delicious.  I got my A1C results back.  I went from 7.4 to 7.6, and I need to buckle down and stop eating sweets.  Glad that you did not get in the hail storm today and had some place safe to park the car.

E4E - We are getting exciting waiting for the lil one to arrive.

Lani - Thank you for sharing your Hawaiian family with us.  Congrats to Peyton and Dad, and very exciting for Peyton to be in the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.  Good luck to him!  Thanks for the Royal update.

baz - So glad you could see the pics!

tig - Thanks!

oldguy - Thanks for the videos.

Puff
- I drove to NJ once to the Jersey Shore....I was a nervous wreck!

BAZI  Again some suburbs further west did have wind damage.  We had no wind and my gauge said 1 inch of rain!!

OLDGUY   Good to see you.  Love the come from behind win  ;D    What fun enrichment for Monkey - wonder how long it took to train him?  That attack cat didn't look quite right to start.  :o  Think Claire has to take the cat to the vet for nail clipping  LOL   Maru and the red hat - so funny
Lots of good talent this year on AGT

BAZI   What an "adventure" for you coordinating all of this.  Maybe if you order a frig now and it may take a month to get it?  That's a lot of food to go through for only 1 person.  LOL

KB   Boy it sure seems to me that if there is going to be a change in policy you would need to be notified.

PUFF  No wind but lots of rain in my gauge - 1 "  ;D

LISA   I cannot believe you did that whole trip without consistent AC  :o  Sure hope that part comes in soon.   Mama has arrived  ;D   Sorry to hear about the A1C.  Will doc do insulin or give you a chance to recover from ATF...?

Yrs. ago when Bro n S.I.L. had a gig at a casino in Atlantic City and lived in Brigantine, our parents and I would fly to Philadelphia and then rent a car and drive the expressway to A. C. for a visit. We did it twice in 3 years. It was an interesting drive.
Lisa . .. hope your Mom stays cool.

Lisa - yes it stopped raining around 9am today, but it's hotter than the dickens...it's a feels like 104 right now with a dew point at 70....high humidity doesn't feel good at all with high temps too...
doesn't surprise me with the baggage claim either...haven't heard any planes overhead today at all..the winds must be in the other direction from me...meaning take off..they mostly land from the east of the airport but sometimes from the northwest...no winds at all today me thinks.

tsk - yes they do have to have informed me according to my Department of Commerce..my agent's replacement was wrong when he said they don't have to.
Dept of Commerce said it might have been a notice on one of those large enveloped 20 page letters you get annually...I tend to go right to the policy changes when I open them and not read the whole thing.
Dept of Commerce said they will contact them to make sure they sent me that notice but more importantly, that they sent it to all of their policyholders and not just me.
It's odd as I surely would have noticed that kind of change..
They curiously made the change in 2020....remember Covid?....LOL and Scott....it surely is possible that year I didn't open it...I'll find out from the big guys rather than try to find a 3 year old document in my yet to be filed paperwork room and make sure it affected all.
Furthermore, members of my community talk about this stuff online all the time, meaning sewer issues as no house is newer than 50 years old and the city itself promoted what sounded like a sketchy outside policy, no longer taking new business but you had to use their plumbers....sounded too sketch and all the big carriers started offering it also around the same time.
Considering I've never filed a claim before and it's a relatively small bill to them but not me they should do what's right....my sister, a former banker, said they never do and will not change their mind.
So, I'm just doing my due diligence which is certainly what they do to get out of paying claims.

Tsk!  I truly enjoyed that waffle this morning!   So much better than a slim fast!  Lol.
Lisa!  That a1c was not that bad!  Bad news on the ac!  Hope it is repaired soon!
Went to a meeting in Minneapolis once from Mobile and it was hotter there,  the ac is not that powerful and there are fewer ceiling fans!  They basically build for cold weather!
Clynn, glad you are back and sharing in bird news!  Thanks to Phyl too,
Baz, good luck on the fridge and freezer project!  You should order one now!   Some times it takes forever.
Lani, thanks for sharing your exciting family news and pictures!  Good luck to Peyton!
Thanks for the repirt on the Royal As!
