Emy - I'm confused and it doesn't help at all when I don't know if that's HM or HD on the nest! I don't think we've ever seen an eagle sleeping in the nest cup unless there was an egg to incubate or the eagle knew she was about to lay one. :o ??? :o ???

I always watch for the falcons I monitor to remain on the nest.  It usually signals an egg is imminent.  I was hoping it is the same for eagles.  I have not been watching here so I can’t help with the ID.

T40 - That is HD that spent the night on the nest.   He has been there since late yesterday afternoon.  Both were on Y, HM flew out, he followed but came back.

Lisa, great pics, and at least HD & HM are still trying for eggs.  I know it is not late, we just want to see eggs soon!

Wonder if geese return to the same nesting site year after year?

And it looks to me like HD is limping because of that talon injury a week or so ago.  Any closeups?

I haven't seen any closeups of his talon other than the one that RRP provided in their post about his injury.  That injury looked pretty bad, but he has kept on going.  I do wonder tho, the more that he uses it to grab nesting and sticks, does that make it hurt and cause him to limp a little...the human in me says, yes!   :D

Lisa - Thanks for the ID of HD on the nest last night. His talon must be giving him some trouble.  Glad he has a soft bed to help him recover. :-*

You're welcome, T40, and I am glad he does, too!  I wonder if resting it some helps it heal.

I don't recall HD and HM getting into N2B before now this season?  Took yesterday's action to heart?
