Adventures at the North's valley today. It appears that MrN spent the night in the trees near the Brush Pile. Not sure where DNF was. I think MrN was near the Brush Pile with a bluejay flitting around at about 7:30 AM, and it might have been him again on a snag sticking up from the Brush Pile at about 9:30AM.
In the afternoon, things got really interesting. A kingfisher perched on the Brush Pile about 1:30. Then about 3:00, a visiting sub-adult BE flew from the creek trees to the nest and spent about half an hour there. It's a large bird, so could be a female, guessing about 4 years old, unbanded. She picked up a stick and moved it, then perched and preened on the Ladder Branch before flying back to the creek area. She ate a fish from branches in the Claw Tree area, then moved to the Brush Pile and was still there with the IR cam turned on. Cam ops got some wonderful closeups.
