So you have a "Gibbs" now Rues!  Lucky you!!!  Do you loan him out?  ;)

From the Federal Trade Commission:  "Technology makes it easy for scammers to fake or ?spoof? caller ID information. They can make it look like they're calling from a different place or phone number. Even your number. Scammers use this trick as a way to get around call-blocking and hide from law enforcement."

How can a big bear sleep on a railing without falling off!

Loved the cubs on the hammock  :D

Hi Jewelies!  Sure is quiet here today!  We had a pretty nice day here. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day!  10am I have an eye doctor appointment, 2pm I have a hair appointment, 5:30 a girl from my vet's office is coming by to see if she wants to take of my cats while I'm in FL.  She started out at, get this... $35 a day!!  NO WAY!!  For 5 minutes work??  I got her down to $15, but still seems like a lot to me.  I sure wish the guy I had last time hadn't died.    :(

JP... How was your trip to the vampire today?  Hope it was just routine stuff.

Nora...  How's Joe's rehab coming along?

cal... What did you get accomplished today?  I know you were busy!  You always are.  And, Polly is back already!  Where does time go??  lol  You're right... we didn't get to appeal our punishments, did we?  It's bad enough getting calls from ourselves, but poor CA... getting a call from Boobie.  How sad.  I laughed at the possum growling at you!  When I had cat food on the porch, they used to come and eat it and if I tried to chase them away, they would hiss and growl at me.  Nasty dispositions!  lol

rues... Are you still enjoying your new husband?  lol  Blindspot was pretty intense, wasn't it?  Only one more episode.  Blacklist is almost done too, I think.  One time that I got one of those IRS calls, I called the Sheriff's office and told them.  The deputy I talked to said he got one of those calls, too.  I've had one of those calls since then and I told them that I reported them to the sheriff... she hung up on me!  lol

Hi to everyone!  Have a good evening!

Hi, Jewelies! Beautiful day! We put some new mulch in the flower beds, and they really look good. Couldn't ask for better weather. Rues, do you want me to pass some on to you? I read today that the girl  who plays Agent Keen on The Black List had a baby girl in April. The finale on NCIS was very sad. Michael Weatherly is going to star in a new series loosely based on Dr. Phil's experiences as a jury consultant in his younger days. The cats are sitting here all around me, staring like little vultures, because they want  me to feed them--they get their supper right before I go to bed so they don't bug me during the night. When I get up, they'll all run for their dishes by the dryer. Last week, I bought a watermelon at Krogers for $2.99, and boy, was it good!!  We use an  an ice cream scoop to make big melon balls. Hi, cal, jp, bischue, nora, Willi, Dlong, Eaglette, pat, chippy and all other Jewelies!!

"Nora...  How's Joe's rehab coming along?"  RA, his cardiac rehab went great.  He's had the sling on since his shoulder surgery and takes it off to let his arm and and swing it.  Next Tuesday (24th) he has another follow up and should get the sling off and then the real PT will start.  He can't wait to get rid of that thing  :D

Day before yesterday gas went up!  The ethanol stuff we don't use had been holding at 2.09 for some time now and that went up to 2.19.  The other stuff went from 2.29 to 2.44!

Bet that watermelon WAS good Obsver.

obsver... You got such a deal on your watermelon!!  I've been looking at them every week, but just can't see spending almost $8 on one of the little round ones!  I'm glad it was good, too!

cal... Lucky raccoons... getting that carrot cake!  Sounds so good.  We're leaving on June 4 for FL.  Sounds like you had a busy day!  Lots of errands!  Not much on TV tonight, so I'm watching HGTV.  At least, all the shows so far have been ones I haven't seen yet.   :)

Nora... I thought Joe was rehabbing his shoulder already.  Sorry, I'm rushing him.  lol  I bet he IS tired of the sling by now.

Time to get ready to go to bed.  Talk to you all tomorrow!

Daily Updates
Bow Shows, Sophie Glows, Gull Becoming Whole - UPDATE May 18, 2016
18 May 2016
Print Email
Bears are coming in the light now. Sophie started things off at 6 AM. She showed up glowing in the rising sun but being followed by a male instead of cubs.
Bow's female yearlings
At four, we all thought she?d have cubs and were looking forward to this sweet bear being a mom. She?s a late bloomer.

Late morning, we put meat trimmings out to see what might happen. Crows were here within minutes. I don?t know where the turkey vultures come from, but within 20 minutes they were floating over and then coming to the food within minutes, unlike the other day. Same for the bald eagle that watched but didn?t join in the other day. This time it swooped in shortly after the turkey vultures came and was soon joined by another.

Sophie
Eli came in late afternoon.

The injured gull was a welcome sight at 8 PM standing on two legs. She limped but can put partial weight on her right leg.

The day ended with Bow and her three female yearlings (Rachel, Florence, and Nancy) eating grass in a beautiful setting out the window. Bow is easily recognizable by her white bow and sway back.

At the Bear Center, the tulips turned out to be well worth the nurturing they required early on. The entryway is nearing completion. I?m told that in a week the masonry bases around the posts will be complete, and the big welcome sign will be hung.

Rose-breasted grosbeak   Eagle and Vulture   Crow flying
New birds out the window include the colorful American goldfinch and rose-breasted grosbeak.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning Jewelies! The SUN is shining! Wahoo! Omg, I am so sick of damp cold, rainy days! We just finished our yard work even though the grass was damp. Can't go to Robin's to do her yard because we are home bound! Our truck didn't pass state inspection...needs new front brakes and bearings. Waiting for the repair shop to call. Hoping it's ready to go when Robin is at lunch so we can bum a ride from her!

Cal, I didn't know possums growled! But I've never been close to one! They would be so much cuter if they had fluffy tails! Excellent pics from the bear center and great news from the legislature! Finally someone in MN used their heads. Glad that the gull seems to be improving! The Spam must have helped! Lol! Would love to see Soda's mane!

Jp, hope the vampire treated you well! What did you eat for breakfast?

Ra, can't wait for next week's Blindspot! Wonder how this will be resolved? Time will tell! I would come and look after your cats for free! That's what I'm doing this week for my younger sis while she vacations at Topsail Beach, NC! She always leaves me junk food to snack on while I clean litter boxes, fill food and drink bowls, feed the coy and goldfish in the pond, water plants and bring in the mail! Next month I'll be doing the same for the older sis when she goes to AZ, except she doesn't have a pond! Lol!

Nora, our gas shot up, too! It was $2.15 Sunday and Monday it was $2.44! Haven't been down the road today so I don't know what it is now!

Obsver, I got a watermelon at Walmart yesterday for $1.99! I just had some after I finished my yard work. Yummmm! Thanks for sending me this great weather! I hope the lines at the airports straighten up, too, by the time our daughters fly! Robin has two flights planned this summer one to Seattle and one to Albany, NY.

Need to get out and do some weed killing! Bbl!

Hi Jewelies!  Cloudy here today.  Good thing, since I went to the eye doctor and got my eyes dilated.  So much easier on them when the sun isn't out!   I've had a spot in one of my eyes, kind of like a floater that doesn't float, come to find out it may be a little hemorrhage.  Have to go back and have it checked in a few weeks to make sure it's not worse.  I want to get new lenses put in my old frames, but they have to send off the frames to a lab to get it done and it takes 10-14 days.  Had to find my old glasses, but not doing it until after vacation.  I don't want to wear the old ones while I'm gone.  Lenses alone will be $550!!  Yikes.  Sucks having bad eyes.

cal... Can we see Soda's mane?   :)  Seems like the feed store would stock your special feed since you get it all the time.  I sure am glad that more and more bears are showing up.  The pics in the updates are always so beautiful!  Wish I could take pics like that!  My oldest grand takes some very cool pics, but she just takes them with her phone.  She has a good imagination for it.

rues... A fluffy tail on a possum??  lol  Yes, it would make them a little cuter.  And, maybe a nose that isn't as pointy and some teeth that aren't as sharp looking, too!  lol  We used to have to have our vehicles inspected, too, when we first moved here, but they don't require it anymore.  Hope you aren't homebound for very long!  It's funny... a person could stay home all the time, but as soon as you don't have your car, you want to go somewhere!!  lol  Same way with water and electricity.  Well... kinda.  lol  I wish you lived closer so you could feed my cats, too.  I thought about asking my neighbor, but don't want to get that started again...  Maybe this girl will be ok.  She must like animals if she works at the vet.  Hope Handsome doesn't hurt her...  lol

JP... Love that pic of Lucky playing!!

Hi to all!  BBL

ruesgram, you asked what I had for breakfast on vampire day.  I had a large waffle with lot of maple syrup, two scrambled eggs and two big links of sausage plus coffee and 2 refills, at Denny's.

It took me 10:25 to commiserate with Ambrose.
