"Brag" all you want on your grand Obsver  ;)  I'll bet the work program really helped with confidence and stuff.  Does she know what she wants to go after high school?

We're sunny and 59.  Breeze is rather cool, but much better than yesterday.

Good story about getting pulled over way back Cal.  Hope Scootie is ok.  I hated it when Billy Bob got seizures  :(  That's good you slowed down the mower  :D

Eaglette, I always pictured Cal in the rubber type boots too, the kind I always said I was going to get and didn't when I had horses.  The tambourine was "lost"  :D

I'm going to get my potted plants back out of the garage this afternoon, they should be ok now, I think last night was the worst threat for them.

I better get something done, later gang...............

Cal, why doesn't he speak English? Does he understand English? How does he know what's going on?

Here is our Jewel.

I do not know why I can not get up earlier like I have done for years, oh well  I am thankful that I was able to get up.

Glad the Royals won.  Atlanta is not so good  but they play good teams quite well.  They swept the Marlins in a three-game series not long ago.

It is Monday (I know I am right, I looked at a calendar) and I wish all of us to have a grand start to the week.

Daily Updates
Shadow, Ted, Holly - UPDATE May 15, 2016
15 May 2016
Print Email
29-year-old Shadow is one step closer to having cubs at the record age of 30 for a wild black bear. She and Spanky have gone through family break-up. Two landowners Shadow
Shadow
reported her alone today. I zipped over to each place for pictures. The light was perfect for that on this rainy day. One picture shows her nice coat and the other two feature her graying face in different lights. After living most of her life in and around this community, she is still one of the most cautious and retiring bears. An unfamiliar action or sound from a person and she is gone and very slow to return.

Is Braveheart trying to confuse us? First she shows up without her yearlings, making us think she went through family break-up; and now today she has Geneva and Porter back with her.

Shadow
Shadow
A Lily Fan asked about Herbie?s mate. Yes, we also wonder where she came from and what her chances are of establishing a normal-sized territory in the area.

Shadow
Shadow
At the Bear Center, I wondered if Ted could ever pry Holly away from her friend Lucky and if he would be interested in trying. Today, he showed interest. Holly was on the scale. Ted wanted to say hi. He came to the scale, blocking her exit and being his usual friendly self. Holly didn?t know what to think. She made an emergency exit up over the side of the scale, hitting the electric fence and running off into the woods. I wonder how Ted felt. Will she give him another chance? Will he be helplessly drawn to her? Will Lucky have something to say about it?

Also at the Bear Center, community volunteers put the new lynx picture on the front of the building a few days ago, and it looks good.

Out in the woods, pincherry blossoms are about to burst?hopefully not damaged by the recent frosts.

Thank you for all you do.

Cal re:   Hi Eaglette! hey i was thinking your parents lost your tambourine well they are still here right? how would you like a new one?

LOL.  They are both not hearing that well these days, so I guess they would not even know I am beating on the tambourine.  It would probably bother their dog more and me second.  hahaha.

JP, glad you are up too.  It sure beats the alternative.  Hang in there.  All that sleep comes from taking the Gabapentin.  You are probably sleeping deeper now that the pain is lessened.  Enjoy the sleep, it allows your body to recuperate.  You have earned the right to sleep in at your age.  You can be a whipper-snapper after 10am just as easy as at 6am.

Hello to everyone!  Hope your Monday is a splendid start to a new week.  It is week 20 out of 52.  Yikes, it is almost Christmas.  :o

Oh Cal......  :D :D "Hi Eaglette! hey i was thinking your parents lost your tambourine well they are still here right? how would you like a new one?"

JP as long as you GET UP maybe your body has just gotten itself on a bit of a different schedule.  You must need your sleep.  We're happy to see you at ANY time.  :)

Maybe Braveheart's kids just "wanted their mama".   ;)

I really like the lynx picture on the bear center.

Some people can understand a lot of English, but not speak it.  Our Japanese exchange students my first husband and I had back in the 80's could understand more than speak a lot of times.

67 this noon, but starting to cloud up.  I was hoping to mow this afternoon....................  :-\

It took me 5:00 to find out which of those were socks that I had lost at the laundromat.

Hi Eaglette! well no tambourine wouldn't want to bother the dog!! :D CA reminds me almost every week when christmas eve will be here! yay not for awhile!!

HI Nora!! nope morales does not speak or understand any english. i asked ca. when they interviewed after his homer won the game he looked like say what and was looking at our asst general manager who told him what they said. he is not from cuba anymore he escaped from there and his citizenship is in the  Dominican Republic. salvador perez our catcher was from Venezuela . since the royals extended his contract and rightly so he will apply for us citizenship. i am happy me and jim mowed yesterday cause no mowing today. it is 50 and raining. i really like that lynx picture too on the bear center.

OK, this is just my humble opinion.  I do not appreciate the teams hiring folks from out of the country to play major league sports.  I want to watch French on France's teams, only Danes on Denmark's teams.  I also do not enjoy it with MLB having players from Japan, South America, etc. I see the MLB teams ending up like the soccer teams of Europe.  Can't they just let us all enjoy a little cultural sporting events?  That is my opinion and thanks for letting me express it.  Eaglette.

Hi Jewelies!  It started out pretty chilly here today, but warmed up to around 70, so nice.  Just got back from celebrating at the Japanese restaurant.  We had 11 of us around the grill... a few friends, father-in-law, my ex (who has been a real jerk lately), and the family.  I made some German chocolate cupcakes to take for everyone.

Eaglette... Nice to see you again.  I think anyone who is in this country working at anything, should be able to speak English.  Look at the pro basketball players... so many names you can't even pronounce, because they're not from here.  Doesn't seem to be so bad with football for some reason...

cal... Is your barn staying pretty dry with all this rain?  We're supposed to get rain this week, too... hope we get some.  Father-in-law tried to talk to me about hunting bears... I wouldn't even look at him.  What's wrong with people like that?  He knows how I feel!  Does he think I'll change my mind??  Geez.  When I was young, my grandpa had a farm in MI and I remember he got one of those oil well pumps out in his pasture.  I don't know how much oil it pumped, but I know that he got some.  I remember that part of his land was where they were going to put an expressway and they bought that land from him.  When he died, my uncle got the farm and years later across the street somebody built one of those Outlet Malls.  Not long after that, he sold his land for over $1 million!!  Little farmer turned millionaire!  Pretty cool.  He had 6 kids and bought or build a house for each one of them.  Last I knew, there was a Starbucks where the farmhouse used to be.

rues... Blacklist is on tonight!  Only one more after tonight, I think.  Previews look pretty exciting!

JP... I just glad you get up every morning, too!   :)

HI to all!  Hope you've had a good day!

Holly sitting and eating grapes.

I hope all are enjoying Spring with good fortune in all aspects.

This morning is rare as I have no gripes about anything but I will figure something to complain about before the day is done.

A "Happy Tuesday" wish to each and every one.
