How great for Ted to have a great retirement place.  Heck I wouldn't mind that one, but with one of those tiny homes.  Good grief they SPEAR bears?  How awful! I hope Kurtis is going to be ok.  :(

Donna looks great JP.  You sound pretty perky this morning guy.  I also hope your week is a good one.  Sorry about the pains, but on the upside if they are here and there it must not be a problem in that area.  Sorry you get to hurting though.

Oh Cal, poor Rose!  If she started pooping she must be doing better.  You'd think if she was obstructed she couldn't go.  Even if she's feeling better she must be exhausted from yesterday and like you said, maybe the pain killer too.  Give her a hug for me.  I'm glad Jim could help you out with her.  I remember my first horse, Stormy, was lying in the pasture sound asleep.  I hadn't had her long enough to know she liked to do that.  Anyway she was making weird noises and didn't know if anything was wrong or not.  Called the next door neighbor that had horses and Dave came over.  He said something to her as he climbed through the fence and she got up.  Turned out she was SNORING!  He was glad to see that and said if she was colicking that Sandy said to tell me they'd take shifts with me walking her if we needed to.  These people had to be up before 6 in the morning to head to work!  When she had the first colt a gal down the road loaned me her nursery monitor and I put one in the barn and the other in the bedroom.  I left the barn door open a hair so I could sneak out to check on her without her stopping labor.  I'd been told if they get interrupted they can stop and wait.  Well I was hearing all these weird noises and one time she was munching on hay and the other -- snoring.  It was her first one and she went three weeks past the estimated date, I was a wreck.   :D

Samantha.

Cal, What can I say to help ease your extreme sorrow?   Look back at the time Rose was with you and enjoy the memories.

Damn I knew I should have gotten on here earlier today.  Cal I don't know what to say except how sorry I am.  I've been there and it tore me up listening to my horse when her buddy "left".  She knew and he was out of sight of her.  I'm glad Jim found someone to help you out, but wow, to offer to come back himself, you've got yourself a keeper there.  Your little mustang will always be in your heart and a spot in all our hearts.

Daily Updates
Night of Mystery - UPDATE September 20, 2016
20 September 2016
Print Email
Tasha, Holly, and Lucky were out all night. Or maybe not quite. Lucky was in the big bunker this morning where Holly has been raking straw. Holly in her thick coat
Holly with her thick winter coat
Tasha did not return to her pen all night. This morning Holly came from the direction of her wild den where she spent the winter a couple years ago. Maybe that will be her choice unless she joins Lucky in the big bunker den where they played and slept last winter. Their coats are coming in thick and fluffy, and even Tasha's from Kentucky seems more advanced than Ted.

A big day of interviewing--NPR.

Thank you for all you do.

Lily

I didn't wake up until 6:54 and I have no idea why.  Needless to say this is not a good day for me.

For all  I wish a good Wednesday and hopes for a gentle Autumn.

JP, I know it's just my opinion, but 6:54 doesn't seem late to me, but I guess you're used to earlier and from all the years in the service a strict routine.  On the up side, you must have slept good and that's a good thing! You have a great rest of the day!

I wonder why the bear center seems surprised Tasha's coat is thickening up so much.  She was from a lot more south, but she's here now and her body should adjust I should think.  It sounds like they're doing great.

Real cloudy.  So far overnight and this morning any storms that pop up have been JUST missing us to the north.  One going across now as I type.  We really don't need a lot more rain right now.

That is beautiful Lani.

cal, my heart aches for you, I know you loved Rose dearly....
