5:42  That is better. 57 degrees mostly cloudy.  Will walk soon.
Been up a while on computer.  Mostly reading the story about our hero Dr. Rodgers.  Tells it like it is for him. Warts and all.  Tried to forward the article, but could not.  Too old or too dumb.  Or both. LOL
Sorry to hear about puppy bites.  Boss likes to mouth my hands, but Debbie really freaks out when he does.  I think she has a healthy respect for his powerful jaws.
I recall the worst bite I ever had.  I was feeding my old beagle, Duke, some peanut butter.  I expected him to lick it off my fingers.  Instead he tried to eat my finger as if it were a piece of bread, and bit down with normal pressure by accident.  Talk about pain and fear.  WOW!  There was no blood.  So it must have been mostly fear.  Sure did hurt though.
That reminds me I helped Debbie trim Boss's nails the other day.  My job was to hold the spoon full of peanut butter while she clipped the nails. This has been a problem in the past.  Now it is no problem.  He just licks and licks while she clips.  Works great, but does take two people.

No Shots Heard Yet and Uplifting Comments - UPDATE September 7, 2022

Kimani and cubs
I saw your good comments about the article last night and sent them all to author Doug Struck and photographer Melanie Stetson Freeman. Good to see. I appreciated the article, too.

The picture here is of non-clan Kimani and her two cubs as they passed through.

Thank you for all you do,

4:31  Felt good.  Almost dinner time here and I just got to sit down a while.  Got up late.  No paper.  Had to go get it.  Then had a ten o'clock date to take my Debbie to a special place called Scheopfle Gardens. Just made it.  Boss had the day off, only because it is a dog free area due to wildlife. Well had a very knowledgeable tram driver.
Debbie was saying all the time, "why did it take so long for me to be here?  It is great!", and it is. I  had to wait until she retired. She was always too busy. She will make sure her children and grandchildren will be here pretty soon.  It is a botanical garden, but has a children's area fenced off for kids.  It even has a functional carousel.
Then we went over the historic Dean Road Bridge. This is my favorite one lane steel truss bridge.  She snapped a few pics.  This is where I rescued the baby squirrel back on Earth Day.
Then we went into Berlin Heights for a stop at a family restaurant that is struggling.  It is only open from 11am until 3pm.  We each had a special, hamburger with fries, and a cup of soup.  It cost us $40, but it helped them pay the bills.  The food was good, but not exceptional.  We also got some good pears from am orchard right in town.  When I opened my door the lady says, "here comes the Corgie".  Sure enough this beautiful little dog is climbing into my car.  Good we did not have Boss along.  He would have been upset. LOL
well sorry for keeping you all waiting, but I wrote this long post for you to make it up.  Was a fine day away.  When I got home I laid down for a nap.  Lorrie called me to come get some dinner from her.
As I was leaving I heard that the Queen has passed on.  So I am sad now and will say a prayer for her soul.

Bye for now my friends.  CUL GBU and GB Ukraine.

7:02  Was distracted by Debbie and news of the queen.
I sent the link about Doc to all my email friends.  I asked them to read the article, and forward the link to their email list as a favor to me.
Doc's message is well stated in this article and can be spread that way to a lot of people all over the world.

No Shots and Good Memories - UPDATE September 9, 2022

Lucy nursing her male cubs - 2021
We were glad not to hear any shots again this day with hunting hours now over.

Samanthas cubs by Deb Isaacs - 2016
Samanthas cubs
by Deb Isaacs - 2016
A nice surprise was Bear Course participant Deb Isaacs sending me a picture that she and her husband Mike took back in 2016. It is of Samantha’s four cubs Ricky, Lucy, Fred, and Ethel—at least three, maybe four, of them showed up this year. Ethel was a little bit of a question. All four grew up as the kind of bears people don’t forget and look forward to seeing. Then, in 2021, Lucy had little Desi and Arnie, who now as yearlings are much the same. Desi, Lucy, and Fred, along with Jack, are four of the calmest, most trusting bears we saw this year. They came late because of the abundant wild food, but they finally did. Now we just hope they’ll once again make it through the next few weeks.

hi you guys its 65 here 59 and raining in iceland i read about queens beloved dogs and her horses and her daughter anne will look after them and i am sure the palace staff will still do that read she was afraid of leaving them without her  :( they got on her bed with her till the end.

They roamed Buckingham Palace as if they owned the place.

Royal chefs prepared their meals. Psychologists treated them, biographers documented their lives. They slept in cushioned wicker baskets. At Christmas, they each got their own stocking. The many corgis owned by Queen Elizabeth II over her seven-decade reign were furry little monarchs in their own right, as iconic as her flamboyant hats and her wicked sense of humor. In her lifetime, she had more than 30 of the squat herding dogs, with names like Plover, Disco and Mint. A gaggle of them trotted ahead of her wherever she went, in what Princess Diana once described, perhaps not so affectionately, as “a moving carpet.”

5:39 Good but not great.  Nice here.  72 and cloudy.  Will go out somewhere.  Not sure where yet.  Some walking for sure. There is an open house at a township old stone school house at 1pm, and a moonlit 2 hour walk in the evening I may want to attend.  The moon is extraordinary these days.
Nice dinner of Greek church fundraiser Gyro and baklava and filo biscuit last evening.  Early to bed though.  Sleepy from watching high school football between schools and players I did not know.
Heard a little better report on Ukraine army taking back some of the territory lost earlier.  Go Ukraine.  The nuke plant is still a threat to the world.  The electricity needed to keep it safe is at risk. They might need a tremendous daily amount of diesel fuel for the emergency generators if the one functioning reactor fails, and there is no fuel available.
Well for now I will say so long.  Thanks for being here.  GBU and GB Ukraine.

Rainbow & Trees ...  32:09      92°  (3:01)    Sunny, no wind ...  we had a good rain a couple of days ago.  I was surprised.

Hi you two ... and anyone else that wanders by.

Cal, thanks for the photos of the Queen.  I have been watching a lot of that these past days.  I love those Corgis, it is hard to believe that they are herding dogs.  I like the Pembroke ones, and Bella's boyfriend has one and is on a waiting list for another.

Joho ... I used to go to the Greek Festival here in town each year and loved it.  How fortunate that you got to do that.

I am still watching what is happening with the Ukraine.  GBUkraine.

Yes, Cal, I was thinking something like that when I was posting the thing about the Mosquitos ... what would Cal do?    ;)
