7:11  Good morning.  Gonna be a hot one again I hear.  Was going to tha Great Geauga County Fair, but not sure I will.  It is a long ride, which I don't mind, but will be too hot for comfort and for the animals.  So maybe stay around home mostly.  Saw Deb and Boss last evening.  Had a nice visit on her porch.  We chatted until about 10 pm. She said her son, Brian, was in California for the weekend.  Her younger daughter, Shannon, is on a road trip to Cumberland Lake in Kentucky with friends.  Mary of course is busy with her baby.  So we should plan a small road trip for her, Boss, and me for Sunday or Monday.  I think we will go retrace the path we took a few weeks ago.  Was a nice trip through scenic and lightly populated parks and farms west of Elyria.  Will try to find some peaches.  I hope it is not too late.
She built a small camp fire in her fire ring.  Was very pleasant.  I slept very well all night.  I did a lot of walking and biking yesterday.  I guess it was good for me.  Did not get up until 7:30 am.  Almost missed "Back To The Wild".  This is my favorite Sat. morning tv show.
Well time to decide what I will do.  So I will say CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine.

Yellow Cab ... 34:54     97°  (3:41 pm)    A bit cooler and cloudier than yesterday and a bit of wind.

Hi you two.  I hope you are okay, Cal.  Griz too.

Always glad to hear your plans, Joho  ... those drives and other things sound like fun.

I was babysitting Harlow for a bit earlier this afternoon.  Nothing like an 80 year old chasing a busy puppy around.

Hunting Season - UPDATE September 3, 2022

Wolf and Deer - D. Larson
Thank goodness for a slow start. We only heard one shot on September 1st and believe that only one bear has been taken near here. Hopefully it is not a bear we know well.

We heard nothing on September 2nd and nothing so far today (8 PM) with shooting hours about to end. .

On a lighter note, my friend Dick Larson took this picture only about 11 miles from here this past winter (February 6, 2022) from a road. I don’t understand it. How could it be? This area has never seemed to be the place where the wolf will lie down with the deer unless one is eating the other. But they say there are exceptions to just about everything. Two wild animals.

Thank you for all you do,

^:32 I am stuck in a rut. LOL  Nice rainy cool day here.  Done with all morning stuff.  Had to go to publisher for my paper again.  Usually here by 4 or 5 am.  Today  I looked out at 9:30 ( after I was done reading the one I went out for) and saw one in the rain wet grass.  No tip for these guys again.
Well don't know what Debbie will want to do yet.  She asked me to help trim Boss's nails, but wants to get some better trimmers first.  If she does not need me, I will start with a trip to a Meijer's store for several items on sale at " 7 for $7.00".  Including Campbells soups.  $1.00 is my max target price for these soups.  I won't pay more.
Looks like it will be raining for a while.  Deb did ask about a picnic outing with Boss, but I am not sure she will go in the rain.  I will ask now.
Cal we are praying for your comfort and guessing you need it now more than usual.

Did puzzle and have no idea how long it took, forgot and clicked it off too soon.    98° (3:25 pm) Sunny, few clouds + windy.

I'm thinking of you, Cal.  I echo what Joho said.

6:52  Late start.  Now for coffee and Paper.  CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine.
69 and cloudy.  Rain now and then.  Did have a good outing with Deb and Boss.  Got peaches, tomatoes, melon and early apples.  Don't remember the name, and forgot to bring some from Debbie's house.  So I will try to let you know how they are after Debbie come over this afternoon.  She will bring some.  The melon was great. Oh,  I forgot that we got a few little Bartlett pears too.  Three were ripe and were delicious and juicy. The others need time on the shelf to ripen.  The peaches are "seconds", and have several blemishes each.  They are all out of "firsts".  We did go down Dean Road with the long narrow steel truss bridge.  Was nice day for touring the countryside.
I can't read the dog shame.  The words are blurred.  I am guessing the dog likes to sleep next to his blanket.  Boss has a shedding blanket too.  He loves it, and brings it to greet me at the door when I visit.  Bye now.  POOF

  Sunset ...  31:29      102°  (4:18)     Sunny, clear sky -- very light breeze.

Not a lot going on here.

The puppy is being a pain in the ...   adjusting to her presence is hard for Zoe.  and she bit me a couple of days ago.  I am going to have to put a stop to this pretty quick.

No Shots and an Article Came Out - UPDATE September 6, 2022

Elvis by M. Freeman
It was peaceful not to hear any shots, and then I got this nice email and article. https://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2022/0906/Bear-ambassador-Lynn-Rogers-advocates-for-human-bear-coexistence

I hope it makes people think better about bears. And if little Elvis looks extra good, it’s because the picture was taken by a top professional, Melanie Stetson Freeman.
