Spanky and Tasha - UPDATE March 16, 2021

Spanky
Spanky

Three days ago, Spanky gave the best demonstration I’ve ever seen of how bears remove old foot pads to let new ones harden for their months of activity. This 2 minutes and 38 second video is at https://youtu.be/YP3VjaGkvl4 It is something this den with its good visibility is revealing. Although it is a little early to be up and about in this part of the country, Spanky is walking on his new foot pads.

At the Bear Center yesterday, "Taught by Bears" set to music this 6½-minute video of Tasha on a rock being a ‘Rock Star.’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbLlHGozx5o Tasha, who is ready to roam, was patiently surveying the snow that is slowly melting with temperatures now a little cooler. Today’s high was 42°F.

Hi EV1
Tasha just came out FYI.  For Happy St Patrick's Day I am going to bring home a nice corned beef and cabbage dinner from Blue Sky.  Debbie didn't want one so I will be on my own, but hat is ok.  What a beautiful day here.  Had a 3:15 Dr. visit and woke from a nap at 3:10.  Felt a little rushed. LOL
Loved the black dog.  Got the "Boss" a new stronger harness (large) and a big tug rope.  Which he loved.  Deb's ex was there putting in her new hot water tank.  Luckily he got the day off.

6:41 now for coffee. Raining here, but first morning to hear robins singing to their mate.  Was really nice to see Tasha out and tippy toeing over her rocks.  She really is a southern bear, and I think she is ready for Spring and all it's green shoots.  I wonder how much we missed when she slept in the woods instead of the rock den.
