Hi Jewelies. We got the tail end of the northeastern storm. A couple inches of heavy wet snow starting falling yesterday afternoon after a morning of rain. The roads were icy last night and several accidents happened. This morning most of the snow has melted.

Cal, thinking about you guys.  :'(

Lupe, funny thing you mentioned a cat bed! I bought Wilson one yesterday at Walmart. I don't know where he sleeps at night but during the day he sleeps in multiple places...on the throw on my bed, or the throw on Crow's bed, the couch, the futon in the basement or a box on a shelf in the laundry room! During warm weather he sleeps on the back porch glider. I put the cat bed on the couch thinking that would be a nice warm place for him. Last night he was laying all curled up in the bed which made me happy. Later I checked on him and he was outside the bed laying next to it! Darn it! Crow says I probably wasted my money!

Take care, Jewelies

Hi y'all,
I will not dig out my little broken tree, but just want you all to know it is struggling with a teeny trunk and only about 3 or 4 square inches of viable leaf producing limbs. Which are really only twigs.  I will try to send a pic to those I have phones for.  I don't yet know how to get pics from my flip phone to computer for chat or email.
Nice still Winter day here.  Very sparse gentle snowflakes filtering down with no wind.  Grass is mostly still showing, and streets are clear, but wet.
God Bless All in need please.

Hi Jewelies!  Pretty cold here today, high was only about 40o.

Not much happening around here... I had to work tonight, but now am off until the Tuesday after Christmas.  Yay!  Might be able to finish up with the leaves by then.  With all the cold nights lately, the leaves are pretty much down now.

Hope we hear from cal soon...  Miss you, cal!!

Hi to all!

Good morning everyone- oh cal-  what a challenge you and jim have. boo boo is so lucky to have you guys. Prayers and positive vibes are headed your way.
Our snow is still hanging on here- it hasn't gotten above freezing all week. Hubby has been feeling good enough to do a little chain sawing on the two ash trees he felled a couple weeks ago. I think maybe a bit of snow tonight but nothing like the northeast saw this week. I'd be so thrilled with 40" of snow. It would probably be a month until we could get out.  lol

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi Jewelies!  Sunny, but chilly out today.  Went and got a haircut this morning, then more raking.

cal... Good to see you.  Glad BooBoo made it back up the ramp on his own.  That has to be a big help.  You have your hands full... with animals and you know who that went down the driveway.  Maybe Polly will help you next week...  Thanks for letting us know what's going on now.  Clemson plays Notre Dame tomorrow at 4pm... ACC playoff.  On ABC I think, but not positive.

lupine... A good sign for hubby to be feeling well enough to do some wood cutting!  You hear so many horror stories about ykw that you should feel pretty lucky that you guys had an easier time of it than many people do.  Sounds cold up your way!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their TGIF.

Forgot the big news of the day... Youngest grand took a test yesterday and is now a Certified Nurses Assistant.  I'm proud of her!

Hi Jewelies! We got some snow last night, maybe an inch. It's cold outside and hasn't  gotten above 34 today or  had any sunshine. Supposed to start warming up tomorrow but by next Thursday cold again and weather guy says maybe a white Christmas.

Cal, so happy to hear from you. Been so worried about you.  I know what you are going through. We went through the same thing with Molly and then Boo. It's hard. We love our fur babies so much and we do whatever it takes to help them. Please take care of yourself.

Lupe, glad that you and hubby are feeling better! I would be horrified if we got 40 inches of snow!!

Ra, congrats to your grand! Does she want to go further into the medical field? I think all the leaves around here have been raked up or blown away! Good riddance!

Jo, there's always hope for a plant if it's alive! Fingers crossed your little tree will survive!

Have a nice evening, Jewelies! Stay safe and take care.

hi rues... Yes, grand plans to be an RN or keep going and be a physician's assistant.   She used to want to be a surgeon, but doesn't want to go to school that long.  I think she'd like to eventually work in a doctor's office... better hours, but said while she's in school she wants to work nights, the pay is better.  lol

Ra, how cool that will be to have someone in the family in the medical profession! A very honorable job! I like our family doctor. We've gone to her for years. But last year when I had that pain in my hip and I couldn't get in with the doctor soon, I saw her P.A. instead. I loved her. She was kind, informative and thorough. The next time I saw my doctor I told her how impressed I was with her P.A. You must be so proud of both your grands!

Lupe, I've lost many posts! Wonder where they all went?

Cal, thinking of you.

Stay safe, Jewelies.

Daily Updates
Tasha, Spot, and a New WRI Look - UPDATE December 19, 2020
19 December 2020
 Print Email
Tasha
Tasha by day
Tasha
Tasha by night

In two pictures of Tasha captured yesterday by "Happycub", Tasha?s eyes grab attention in the day picture and Tasha looks happy in the night picture. Does that mean she is now glad to have the den she holds and that she feels no grudge toward Holly?

Mink spot
Mink spot
At the WRI, the mink we all named Spot showed up the last two days. She announces her presence by looking in my desk window and knows where to check for bologna?this after being gone for over 9 months. She is identified by the line on her chest that looks like the letter ?i.??the marking that almost gave her the name ?iota? back in March, but the name Spot won out. The picture is from that time. She is the smallest mink we?ve seen, undoubtedly a female, and is not as trusting as Stripe. I?m starting to wonder if Stripe is large enough to be a male. Still learning.

WRI Makeover
WRI Makeover
People who love bears gave the WRI a new look lately. They sent two very comfortable new couches complete with 8 pillows. The pictures give a final touch to the comfy look by using pictures taken in the study area. The pillows came from across the pond (France) in a big surprise box. You can guess what my favorite pillow is. It?s the top middle one with June holding little Lily back in 2007. Thanks to all who made this happen.

Another nice surprise was the ?get well? food box that came a couple days earlier. So good to feel the support of people who feel the same way I do about the bears.

Thank you for all you do.
