Hi Lupe ...  I have the same thing with my brother   :(   I love my brother, but I also am angry at him.  I have no idea exactly when he got to be so stupid, but these days I don't see him much because I guess I am trying to avoid arguing with him about some of his beliefs.  I am glad my parents don't have to see or hear it.  Our younger brother is a Registered Nurse (Hospital).  His specialty is interveinous and putting in Pic-lines.  He works with Covid patients too, and I am in constant prayer for both brothers.  They are so different.  At least you tried to talk sense with your brother.

Hi Jewelies!  Another nice day here... got more leaves cleaned up.  I have way too many trees!!  lol  Seems like we all have issues with a sibling.  I have a brother that is at the exact opposite side of the spectrum as I am when it comes to politics.  I told him over and over and over and over that I will NOT talk to him about politics.  He kept it up and finally hung up on me.  lol  The next times I talked to him, it wasn't even mentioned, so maybe he got the hint! lol

cal... I an relieved that Polly didn't pass her driving test.  I felt like it was only a matter of time before somebody got hurt because of her driving.  I'm so glad she has accepted it as well as she has!  Joe is coming to see Pearl this week, isn't he?  I can't wait to hear how he likes his mug.  I went to see one of my at-risk couples yesterday, to give them their Christmas presents.  We sat outside, because it was warm and sunny... and social distanced, too.  He makes stained glass, and gave me a sun catcher that looks like a sun.  He said this year we all need a little sunshine in our lives.  He also carved xx   xx on it.  I didn't know why... he said it was the year in roman numerals.  Cool, huh?  I'm surprised nobody has ever mentioned that before.  They also gave me a pretty yellow pot that a friend of his mother gave her when he was young... so it's about 70 or 80 years old!  Looks like new and is very pretty.  I love yellow.  That was an interesting story in today's calendar!  Has everyone found all the gnomes?  they're so cute!

lupine... Did you go to the wedding?  Your snow pictures are so pretty!  I like pictures of snow, but you can keep my share of it!  lol

rues... A white Christmas would be ok... don't you think?  It snowed one Christmas here in the 35 years we've been living down here.  I love the great pics of Robin!  I bet she's really itching to get traveling again.

Hi joho and neva!  Hope everyone has a good evening!

Good morning everyone- i am late today- slept wonderfully last night; 15 here and i really feel it. It  makes it difficult for this old body when the weather changes so fast. I got a blanket out friday for izzy and i to use in our recliner.  Since we have been using the furnace for heat this fall instead of the wood stove it is cooler in the house. They are 2 completely different forms of heat. So i used a light blanket for awhile but i dug out the heavier blanket that my mom made for me.
It is what she called a comforter. Made of wool scraps on one side and is flannel on the other.  This is the size to fit a single bed because she made it when i went to college. Needless to say it has been recovered at least twice. Now it is in good shape because the last remake came just before i moved to iowa- i think. Hubby doesn't like it because he says it's too heavy.  Well izzy and i like it as a lap blanket.  When i was a kid we used all the quilts and blankets my mom made. When i moved to iowa quilting was very popular but i was astounded that people would spend loads of money to buy these things and then never use them!!
johoward- i read your comment about shaking off the trees and i went out before lunch yesterday and did just that!! Ty. Have you thought about planting another tree in Joan's memory?

neva and ra- ty for comments about siblings; so glad my brother lives in virginia.

Breakfast is late today. It may be too cold to get out. We'll see how hubby feels when he gets up.

Have a greatday jewelies!

Wet grey day here.  Drizzle mixed with snow.  Cool, but not too cold.   4:31 outhouse/ bridge conflict.  may be a new record.  not sure.  Lots of good football today. Tasha still pretty active, but Doc sounds OK for now. Terrible news out of Washington again.  What is wrong with people.
Lupe,  Good you saved your trees. I will think of a new tree in the Spring, but what I lost was a very special little tree we had rescued from a nursery "No Guarantee" sale and nurtured for several years. It had some kind of little white bugs on it, and took two years to clean up.  Never really was robust, but I did not think it was so brittle as to break off like it did.  Too bad, but I guess it was still sickly.
Got up too early time for a nap already.  CUL God Bless

Hi Jewelies! Damp dreary day with some sprinkles. We were on a mission today. Since Robin is still quarantining she asked us if we would mind getting her a live Christmas tree. She normally gets one 2 weeks before Christmas. Of course we didn't mind, we'd do anything for her.  We went all over the county looking for a cut tree. We went to 2 Lowe's, 2 Kroger's, Home Depot, Rural King and Tractor Supply...all had sold all their trees! Our last resort was a Christmas tree farm but Crow said he didn't think he had it in him to climb up and down the hills looking for a tree. We had one more option...drive the 10 miles from our house to Marietta, Ohio, and check out their Lowe's and Thompson's landscaping. If we failed there we would go to the tree farm. Yay, Lowe's had several 6 ft Frazier firs, exactly what Robin wanted!! I took a pic of the tree and sent to her for an okay. Yes, she liked! Loaded it into the truck and off we went! Got to her house, she left the the room and we brought the tree inside and into the tree stand. We were all masked. We worked fast and as we were leaving, Maui was already trying to get up into the tree! Lol! I'm waiting for Robin to send me a pic of Maui sitting in the tree! We would have saved so much time and gas mileage if we'd gone to Marietta first!

Cal, we borrowed money from Crow's Dupont retirement fund when we had our pool installed. Crow maintains to this day that the pool cost us nothing because he paid his account back! I don't follow his reasoning! Lol! Bet Joe will like and appreciate the mug and treats you have for him! I have 2 quilts that my grandma made. One was always on my bed at home and is in bad shape now. The other one I inherited from mom when she died. It's in better shape but I don't use it. It hangs on a quilt rack.

Jo, wonder if your tree still has some life in it and can survive? It could! That last heavy snow we had did a number on my knock out rose bush. It bent the limbs down to the ground. So in caution, I trimmed it back last week when we had the warmer temps. I usually trim it in February. I was just reading online about what happened in DC last night. Scary stuff.

Lupe, my older sis and I don't discuss politics. We are definitely on opposite sides. My younger sis and I are in sync on everything! That's why we get along so well. Crow's sister and bil don't believe as we do. In fact, the last time she called us, she and Crow ended the call in an argument. That was  in August. She didn't send him a birthday card in Sept so he didn't send her one in Oct. I took the high road and sent her a Christmas card! So far, no card from her! Very pretty snow pics! Thanks for sharing!

Ra, Robin is so anxious to travel. She misses her friends so much. They all keep in touch but it's not the same. She says the trip to Finland last January seems like it was years ago. What a nice gift you got of a stained glass sun! He is so right that we all need some sunshine in our lives! I love stained glass. Sandy, my sis's roommate makes stained glass. She had orders for over 100 Christmas ornaments this year. She charges $6 for each and $5 if you buy multiples. I'm lucky...she always gives me free ones! She gives me stained glass and my sister gives me handmade wool socks, baskets and hooked rugs! I feel so inadequate because I have nothing to give them! Somehow the creative gene passed me by!  :-\

Have a nice evening. The weather guy said there is a meteor shower between midnight and dawn tomorrow morning if anyone is up and about then! Count me out! Lol!
