Hi Jewelies! Damp dreary day with some sprinkles. We were on a mission today. Since Robin is still quarantining she asked us if we would mind getting her a live Christmas tree. She normally gets one 2 weeks before Christmas. Of course we didn't mind, we'd do anything for her. We went all over the county looking for a cut tree. We went to 2 Lowe's, 2 Kroger's, Home Depot, Rural King and Tractor Supply...all had sold all their trees! Our last resort was a Christmas tree farm but Crow said he didn't think he had it in him to climb up and down the hills looking for a tree. We had one more option...drive the 10 miles from our house to Marietta, Ohio, and check out their Lowe's and Thompson's landscaping. If we failed there we would go to the tree farm. Yay, Lowe's had several 6 ft Frazier firs, exactly what Robin wanted!! I took a pic of the tree and sent to her for an okay. Yes, she liked! Loaded it into the truck and off we went! Got to her house, she left the the room and we brought the tree inside and into the tree stand. We were all masked. We worked fast and as we were leaving, Maui was already trying to get up into the tree! Lol! I'm waiting for Robin to send me a pic of Maui sitting in the tree! We would have saved so much time and gas mileage if we'd gone to Marietta first!
Cal, we borrowed money from Crow's Dupont retirement fund when we had our pool installed. Crow maintains to this day that the pool cost us nothing because he paid his account back! I don't follow his reasoning! Lol! Bet Joe will like and appreciate the mug and treats you have for him! I have 2 quilts that my grandma made. One was always on my bed at home and is in bad shape now. The other one I inherited from mom when she died. It's in better shape but I don't use it. It hangs on a quilt rack.
Jo, wonder if your tree still has some life in it and can survive? It could! That last heavy snow we had did a number on my knock out rose bush. It bent the limbs down to the ground. So in caution, I trimmed it back last week when we had the warmer temps. I usually trim it in February. I was just reading online about what happened in DC last night. Scary stuff.
Lupe, my older sis and I don't discuss politics. We are definitely on opposite sides. My younger sis and I are in sync on everything! That's why we get along so well. Crow's sister and bil don't believe as we do. In fact, the last time she called us, she and Crow ended the call in an argument. That was in August. She didn't send him a birthday card in Sept so he didn't send her one in Oct. I took the high road and sent her a Christmas card! So far, no card from her! Very pretty snow pics! Thanks for sharing!
Ra, Robin is so anxious to travel. She misses her friends so much. They all keep in touch but it's not the same. She says the trip to Finland last January seems like it was years ago. What a nice gift you got of a stained glass sun! He is so right that we all need some sunshine in our lives! I love stained glass. Sandy, my sis's roommate makes stained glass. She had orders for over 100 Christmas ornaments this year. She charges $6 for each and $5 if you buy multiples. I'm lucky...she always gives me free ones! She gives me stained glass and my sister gives me handmade wool socks, baskets and hooked rugs! I feel so inadequate because I have nothing to give them! Somehow the creative gene passed me by!
Have a nice evening. The weather guy said there is a meteor shower between midnight and dawn tomorrow morning if anyone is up and about then! Count me out! Lol!
