Hi Jewelies! Looks like it's going to rain but radar shows no rain! Just gray clouds, I guess. Sad news...the little kitty passed away Tuesday morning. We had taken her to the Emergency Vet on Labor Day because she didn't seem to be doing well. They gave her fluids but didn't give us much hope for her survival. Kitty's mom was walking around in Robin's backyard yesterday. Robin hopes to catch her after her remaining kittens are weaned and take her to the SPOT Clinic that spays and neuters. They only charge $25.
Cal, I was caught off guard, too, when I read the update. Horrified, actually. Glad Polly is practicing her driving! The store you stopped at sounds great! Wish we had something like that around here. Schools opened Tuesday and already a case of ykw! Wish this nightmare would end. On a brighter note... at the new house being built 2 doors down a big crane was lifting the rafters on to the top of the house framing. Each rafter swung back and forth high up in the air. Wilson was sitting on the back porch step watching intently as each rafter was swinging back and forth! He watched for a good while! I think he likes being an only pet now! He sleeps in places he never did before. He is friendlier and comes around us more often. I think he likes the house being quiet!
Ra, I bet your daughter's carrot cake is delicious! I could just eat the cream cheese icing! Yesterday was Robin's 41st birthday! She wanted a frozen ice cream cake from Walmart and for me to make an apple crisp. She also wanted that dreaded Thanksgiving dinner meal. Of course, she got what she wanted! It was 87 outside and the ac is running and I had the oven on 350 for 3 hours! The kitchen was so hot. Glad you got your flu shot! My sis got her flu shot at Walmart on Wed. It took 45 min before they got around to her! She wanted me to get mine then, too, but I have a dr appt Oct 8. I 'll get mine then.
Lupe, I have lots of tomatoes ripening now but by this time in the season I think they taste awful! They are ok in salsa but yucky on a sandwich. I decided not to put mums in my urns out front. Since the deer ate my pansies in the spring and 2 of the 3 hydrangea blooms the bush produced this summer, I'm not giving them the chance to eat the mums. My sis says they definitely eat mums. There are several deer that roam the neighborhood day and night. I've had a golden colored bush like lantana in the urns all summer that the deer don't bother. I think they look fall like so I'm leaving them there until they get frost bit. I may buy a couple mums for the deck.
Have a great day! Stay safe!
