Hi Jewelies! Another hot steamy day! Looks like next week will be the same. Ugh. Enough already!

Cal, great update pics! Love seeing Jewel and her kids. Wish we could get some rain. If we don't, we won't have to mow on Thursday. The grass is brown and crunchy. I'm still waiting for some ripe tomatoes. They seem to be slow in ripening this summer. Can't wait for a homegrown tomato sandwich. Yummy! The farm stand had fresh sweet corn now. It is delicious!

Ra, one day that black cloud will drift away and you will have better luck! What a chore just to get a toaster oven! Glad it all worked out, eventually!  Yay, you got your ditch mowed! Omg, I'm so sorry about the little girl. :'(  That has always been a fear of mine. We have the 6 ft privacy fence around our backyard. Anytime we go through the garage and go outside of the fence, we always put the garage door down so no one can get into the backyard and near the pool. I couldn't live with myself if something like that happened.

Lupe, my butterfly weed only has one stem on it this summer with a tiny little flower!  I don't know what happened to it. On the other hand, my hydrangea has 3 flowers on it! It hasn't bloomed in several years so I'll gladly take 3 flowers! I'm thinking about getting the shingles shot. Crow said he got one a couple years ago but I don't remember that. Have you had  the shot? My older sis says it is expensive. Does Medicare not pay for it?

Getting time to fix supper. What to have is always a dilemma for me! Wish I had someone to cook for me. Lol!

Have a nice evening and stay safe!

hi jewelies it is 68 here 73 in the barn 2 raccoonies 5 babies.

hi rues! when we had water in our pool i always worried about some animal getting in there even though the ladder has not been there for years and it is an above ground pool. left the cover on it you too keep it warm or something so birds could land on it but the edges showed water. anyway liner all torn down no water in it. we need to do something with it. jim said get someone out there to replace the liner and fill it up make it a pool again okay jim i do not have time at all to keep up on a pool so that will be your job have not heard anymore about that pool. wont be long till colder weather will be here yay. it has poured rain here last two days on and off the dogs yard is now really high so i have to mow that everything needs to be mowed.  :( good you shut your garage door that would be really hard to live with. yum tomato sandwich! but not worth all that work to me. dont have time for that anymore either. oh oh griz is getting ready to start his barking. when i go get my pneumonia shot i will ask if medicare pays for the shingle shot. i will ask about that shot if i should get it too. my mom had the shingles once very painful for her. ra did you get that shot?

Good morning everyone- still warm here at this hour. We got a little shower of rain yesterday- just enough that i didn't have to water my new grass.  I finally got bertha vacuumed and washed. took her in first thing in the morning so no one else at the car wash.

rues- medicare doesn't cover the shingles shot and it is expensive- we got ours several years ago- and it was i think $160 or so. I can't remember for sure. Then they came out with a new type of vaccine saying everyone should get it. I think that was 2 years ago. We went to get it and our pharmacy said it was backordered. We forgot all about it then.  There was lots of ads for the new vaccine at first but we haven't seen anything lately. Several years ago i had a light dose of shingles- not pleasant . But what i had wasn't nearly what others have suffered through. We know one women who says it took her nearly a year to recover. She does have a compromised immune system though.

cal-  i don't think we'll have to mow this week.  What a bummer that you couldn't shoo some of your rain this way. We went 10 days without mowing last week- mowed on Friday and it looks like it was just done.
I'll be interested to see what your doc says when you go for your pneumonia shot- see if medicare changed and will pay for shingles. Do you get pneumonia shot every year or do you mean flu shot?

I need to get a move on- walking and class this morning.

Have a great day jewelies!

Good morning, Jewelies!  Gonna be another hot one today.  We're headed for a record number of days over 90o... yay.

cal... I got the shingles shot, twice.  They came out with a new one after I had already gotten it, so I got the new one, too.  No, it wasn't covered by Medicare and if I remember right, it was $180.  Worth it though... shingles can be either easy to deal with or very, very hard.  I got the pneumonia shots, too.  You get it in a series... first one, then 3 months later, the second one.  I think that was covered by insurance.  I've been wondering if getting the pneumonia shot would make it easier on you if you got ykw.   I haven't heard anyone talk about that.

lupine... I thought it was very cool the way the helicopter refueled by landing on the truck!  I've never seen that before!

rues... Looks like you're in for some rain... we had it last night and it looked to be headed your way.

Hi to all!  Have a good day!  I'm up early.... one of those days.  Tomorrow the cable guy is supposed to come back to see what's going on with my service.  Still pretty sh*tty.

cal... I got all my shots at the pharmacy in my grocery store.  My doctor sends the prescription to them and I just went there and got it.  I had to wait a couple of months for my shingles shot, like lupine said, but they called me and said it was in and I could come anytime.  Maybe they're not backordered anymore... that was last year.  Expensive, yes, but worth not having to worry about the pain if I got the shingles.

cal Google Shindrix and shigles shot cost. Looks like we should get tested for chicken pox antibodies.  If "yes" get shot.  if "no" don't need it ever.  Get chicken pox shot instead.
Joan doing better.  Dave saw her today.he has chemo on Thursdays.  I will see her tomorrow.  Prayers are working.  Thank God.  God bless all those in need.
