Ted knows how to have fun. He is the master of pond fun, exuding happy energy that makes the water sparkle. Here Cindy Rae captured what she titled ?Ted and His Diamonds?

Herbie
Grass is growing fast on this 77 degree day, and 8-year-old Herbie (son of Jewel, grandson of June, great grandson of Shadow) is stomping it down. He stomp-walked back and forth as if taking possession of the area. I wonder if he smells Samantha and is warning off other males. We?ll see who Samantha pairs with. I hope she is good enough to stop by and introduce him.

Aspen leaves are growing while birch leaf buds are barely bursting to the right of them.
The gull is glowing white against the shadows, looking irresistible as he waits and watches for any sign I am getting up to get him bologna. When I get up, he flies to the feeding spot and gets ready to catch.
A red squirrel that appeared today is the roundest one I?ve ever seen. They usually have only 3 or 4 kittens, as they are called, but this mother-to-be looks extra big. They have 8 teats. Do they ever have eight kittens?

For comparison, a male red squirrel is resting on a branch shedding his light-colored winter fur and growing in the redder summer fur.Beaver lodge
Beaver lodge
I suspect young beavers are in the lodge across the lake, and I?d like to paddle over and listen.
Thank you for all you do.
