Hi Jewelies! Well, we knew sooner or later someone would test positive and it happened today. It is someone in the eastern panhandle. We all figured it would be over there because the panhandle is so close to Washington, DC. Lots of the residents work in DC. Now our governor has closed all restaurants, bars and casinos. He hopes many will use the restaurants drive thru and carryout services. The hospitals and surgery centers are only doing emergency surgeries. Sandy, sis's housemate, is a surgery tech at one of the surgery centers. They were told their center will close on Thursday and may stay closed until May. The courts are postponing all hearings and trials except the ones that can't be postponed. Robin is freaking out because her boss said if they loose business he will have to close the office temporarily and he would not be able to pay them. Life as we knew it is changing fast.
Cal, thanks for the St Patrick's greeting! Did you wear green today? I did because Crow would have pinched me if I hadn't! Got our haircut this morning. Sue, Anne's boss and fellow hair dresser, had 5 cancellations call in while we were there. Two of the callers had been on a Disney cruise ship so they were self quarantined. The other 3 said they were afraid to leave their homes. Anne said she and Sue had been given strict rules from the health dept on how to clean and sterilize the shop. Then Crow and I went Sam's. Still no toilet paper or hamburger but gas is now down to $1.80!
Lupe, I noticed the ground moles were back at it in the front yard! Last week our neighbor across the street, he's the guy that has every kind of tool or equipment that was ever made, was driving his lawn tractor with the yard roller attachment. He rode it on several of the neighbor's yards including ours. It flattened those mole tunnels down. Hope he takes another ride over my yard! We didn't have a typical Irish meal for supper...we had sloppy joes and homemade fries!
Ra, our county is feeding the kids. For the kids that can't get to the school to pick up a meal the bus drivers are driving their routes and meeting the kids at the bus stops. Our county doesn't have tablets for kids to take home so I don't how they will work that out. Some are saying school may not open up till next fall. Robin said at supper tonight that her bathroom sink was plugged up! Crow hates plumbing but I know he will probably go look at it tomorrow.
Jo, so happy to hear that Joan is doing so well! Good idea to stay home! Sardines... ick! Lol!
Nora, always enjoy your greetings with Chester!
Have a nice evening!
