Hi Jewelies! Well, we knew sooner or later someone would test positive and it happened today. It is someone in the eastern panhandle. We all figured it would be over there because the panhandle is so close to Washington, DC. Lots of the residents work in DC. Now our governor has closed all restaurants, bars and casinos. He hopes many will use the restaurants drive thru and carryout services. The hospitals and surgery centers are only doing emergency surgeries. Sandy, sis's housemate, is a surgery tech at one of the surgery centers. They were told their center will close on Thursday and may stay closed until May. The courts are postponing all hearings and trials except the ones that can't be postponed.  Robin is freaking out because her boss said if they loose business he will have to close the office temporarily and he would not be able to pay them. Life as we knew it is changing fast.

Cal, thanks for the St Patrick's greeting! Did you wear green today? I did because Crow would have pinched me if I hadn't! Got our haircut this morning. Sue, Anne's boss and fellow hair dresser, had 5 cancellations call in while we were there. Two of the callers had been on a Disney cruise ship so they were self quarantined. The other 3 said they were afraid to leave their homes. Anne said she and Sue had been given strict rules from the health dept on how to clean and sterilize the shop.  Then Crow and I went Sam's. Still no toilet paper or hamburger but gas is now down to $1.80!

Lupe, I noticed the ground moles were back at it in the front yard! Last week our neighbor across the street, he's the guy that has every kind of tool or equipment that was ever made, was driving his lawn tractor with the yard roller attachment. He rode it on several of the neighbor's yards including ours. It flattened those mole tunnels down. Hope he takes another ride over my yard! We didn't have a typical Irish meal for supper...we had sloppy joes and homemade fries!

Ra, our county is feeding the kids. For the kids that can't get to the school to pick up a meal the bus drivers are driving their routes and meeting the kids at the bus stops. Our county doesn't have tablets for kids to take home so I don't how they will work that out. Some are saying school may not open up till next fall. Robin said at supper tonight that her bathroom sink was plugged up! Crow hates plumbing but I know he will probably go look at it tomorrow.

Jo, so happy to hear that Joan is doing so well! Good idea to stay home! Sardines... ick! Lol!

Nora, always enjoy your greetings with Chester!

Have a nice evening! :)

Hi again, Jewelies!  I heard tonight that MY LIBRAARY IS CLOSED!!  Oh, NO!!  I wish I had had some warning, I would have stocked up!  Guess if I run out of books, which I know I will, I'll have to order some from ebay I guess.  I just can't get used to reading a book that I don't actually have in my hands!

I forgot to tell you guys the latest news from my neighborhood!  There is a young BULL running all over the area!  I noticed some hoof marks in my yard today... no mole tunnels, just hoof prints!  lol  The guy who owns it can't seem to either catch him or keep him in his pasture.   My neighbor next door said the first time she saw it, she thought it was a bear.  lol  She also said it's mean.

rues... Wilson is so pretty!  I don't know how you dress him up!  And, yes... watch those claws!  lol  I saved the picture and made it my background!

Good morning everyone- 40 here and a light rain. It was great to read all the posts from yesterday. How our lives are adjusting every day. Our rec center closed at noon yesterday. So far the caf? in town where hubby has his coffee every morning 6 days a week and sometimes in the afternoon too is staying open but that may change today. I picked up our corned beef and cabbage St. Pat's lunch from the 3 S's in town. They had all the chairs up on the tables- no dining in and I called to tell them the time when i'd pick my order up.  I've made corned beef before but this was much easier.

I got all my outside projects done yesterday.  Hubby even got the iron container moved so it will make maintenance out there much easier this summer.  I have never been this far through spring chores before. The weather has really co-operated- I like cool not windy and sunny weather.

rues- wow- that Wilson is handsome-  what a guy. What kind of camera do you have? So glad you had your lawn rolled- that neighbor is good for something.
nora- it's okay that Chester wouldn't scare away my moles; I would love him anyway.

ra- a bull in your neighborhood- how funny. We've had cows in our area; don't try to catch him if you see him. Bulls can be pretty unruly  (like Sweets.)

cal- I want to go to the grocery store today; they have a few things on sale that I would love to have. I'm going to call first to make sure they are open. they are 25 miles away and I don't want to make the trip if I can't get what I want. I don't need toilet paper!!lol
Have a great day jewelies!  Get lots of home projects done !!!!!

Daily Updates
Sweet Ted - UPDATE March 18, 2020
18 March 2020

Ted sitting up
Ted sitting up
On a whim, I stopped up to see Ted, and he made my day as always. He was just resting, whiling away the winter until someone stops by and livens his day. Rolled upright, started his sweet friendly grunts, and wanted to get close. He didn?t want to step on the snow and looked for the best path. I don?t think he?s walked to the fence in months. Meanwhile the snow has hardened. He was determined. He tried it. The snow held him up. All of his hundreds of pounds. Then there was no stopping him. He made it to the fence, and he made me feel welcome. I tried to do the same thing back. "MargeIreland" (chat moderator) captured pictures from the inside as 23-year-old Ted put his front feet up on the crosslog and then made sure his big bowl was close at hand. A good day.

The snow was so hard that the gate would not open, so Ted had to do all the work to get together. Thank you, Ted.
