Good morning everyone- 35 here and maybe we'll see the sun. I went out yesterday afternoon and cut back the rest of the asparagus and 2 sedums and 1 mum that were blooming late in the fall. The sky was cloudy and a bit of wind so not very pleasant but the trailer hubby uses to haul firewood was empty and convenient to load trimmings to haul away. Hubby got the clutch on the lifter truck un rusted fast so he could use it to move a cast iron planter and 3 hunks of sidewalk for the well driller crew. That truck - a 40's vintage has come in so handy over the years. Really ugly though!

Well- with the new schedule we still had bunches of people in class yesterday. My walking friend got there early- no problem. Then we were talking about the rest of the week- we were going to do M-W-F but this week will need to change further. My sil's got her second chemo on Friday and I want to be there for her. So walking may be moved to Thursday.

I saw just a few daffodils peaking out from the ground yesterday- brave souls. Surely we'll have some snow yet.
One of my goals for this week is to get the inside of Bertha cleaned. I've been keeping up with getting the outside grime off but not the inside.

Drill crew is scheduled for today- I want to watch!
Have a great day jewelies!

Good morning everyone- 32 here and it looks like we will have sunshine today. Well- yesterday was quite interesting. Three trucks arrived at 7:45 AM. I could hardly believe it- the drill rig truck, a water tank truck and a pick up. With a crew of 3 very young men!  They were such hard workers; they didn't waste any time getting to it.. Of course, hubby and I sat outside and watched most of the time. It was sunny and 40 but with a brisk wind. They didn't seem to mind. My 2 cats were a little freaked- as they were backing the drill rig to the site which was the northeast corner of the summer house- Spitty came flying out and headed southwest. I didn't see him again until the guys left.
The only stuff the crew left behind was the clay, dirt and sand they dug out of the well hole. 220 feet was the final depth I think. The clay was first and was in a big pile but the sandy dirt flowed over part of the yard and the cats wouldn't walk through it to get to the house to eat. They just sat there on the other side- crying pitifully. Hubby took the bowls to them. Spitty figured out this morning how to walk around the wet stuff- haven't seen Shadow yet.
Once the water dries out i'll just rake the sand in. Hubby shoveled up the clay into the trailer and spread out the sandy stuff. I took pictures and if I can figure out how to post them I will.
Such nice young men- answered all our questions; very respectful. The head of the crew will be 25 this year and has been with this company since he was 18. He said he started at the very bottom before he was 18-  the very bottom.  Just so impressed with their work ethic!!!!
We have a really good well with good water. now we wait for the back hoe crew to come to do the trenching to get the water to the house and install the pump.
Have a great day jewelies!

Hi Jewelies! Been outside today doing some yardwork. Mostly raking those hateful oak leaves that end up in my driveway! Most of the leaves were wet because of all the rain we've had. Today no rain! Yay!

Cal, Crow was very pleased with his dentist at their meeting on Monday. His original quote was $8000 but he surprised Crow by dropping the total bill to $5000. The best part of the deal was that he can pay it in 2 payments...half when he gets the dentures and then the other half  when he puts the implants in. He will also need cadaver bone placed where he has some bone loss. That will take some time to heal. He gets his teeth pulled April 30. Every time I see pics of Streak standing in that window frame I wonder is that on a porch or does Dr Rogers actually open up his room window? Great update pics! Especially like the nesting hummingbird! I was at Robin's today and remembered this...

Here's the rip we are hiding!

Lupe, after my maternal grandpa retired from the Hope Gas he started his own water well drilling company. I can remember this big old rusty truck with all these pipes and things on it that he parked next to the garage. We called it grandpa's drilling machine! I was a kid back then so I really didn't pay much attention to what exactly he did. I don't know if he had helpers or what. Wish I would have paid attention more. :-\  I never liked well water. I grew up on chlorinated city water! I love Red Lobsters cheddar bay biscuits. It's hard to eat just one!

Ra, sounds like your place is in full bloom! Bet it's so pretty! I love this time of year!  Most of my daffodils are close to blooming. Robin's tete a tete daffodils are blooming. They are always early bloomers. My tete a tetes are more in the shade while hers gets full sunshine (when the sun does actually shine!) That would be very helpful for your sil to deliver your mulch for you! An Italian boyfriend! Cool!

It's dark out so Boo thinks it's time for bed! See you all tomorrow!

Daily Updates
New Mink Mystery - UPDATE March 4, 2020
04 March 2020
 Print Email
And now there are 5! At first there were just Stripe (with a stripe on each side of her chin patch) and Clear (a clear white chin patch). But we hadn?t looked closely enough at Clear to distinguish her from other minks that had clear chin patches.

Then a new mystery mink appeared but was familiar with the program. She had a clear chin patch, but when we looked closer she had a streak that ran far down her belly with interruptions. She had to have the name Streak.

Then a shyer mink came but also seemed to know the program. Again with a clear white chin patch, her patch went down her chest and said her name?Banjo. She also knew where to look for the bologna. She?d been here before. Or maybe minks learn very fast.

A couple days ago a new mystery mink appeared?just a clear white chin patch and a small white mark below it. She has been here many times today and yesterday?with a visit from Stripe mixed in. I don?t know what to call this little mink that is probably a another female from her size. Like Banjo, she is shyer and doesn?t come in the window.

I like minks. They learn fast. They are interesting to watch to see how they find bologna using their eyes and nose, and they liven up the winter.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning Jewelies! On my iPad early this morning because no tv cable! Yep, a repairman is here again trying to solve the problem AGAIN! We thought the so called "specialists" fixed the problem last Thursday. No problems with the cable until Sunday evening when it started freezing up off and on for a couple hours. Sure is hard to watch a program! Then this week it started doing the same thing as before every morning and a couple times at night. Yesterday it was completely off from 9 am to noon. Back on till 5 and off again for an hour. An irate Crow once again called the company and told them to send someone out early this morning. The tv did its normal thing this morning went off at 8am but came back on 9:30, right before the repairman came! He is now putting on some kind of booster thing. Fingers crossed this works.

Cal, oh my gosh, those mink are the cutest things! Lol, at your barking dogs as I sit next to Boo as he is barking his fool head off knowing there is a strange man in our house! Bark, bark, bark! Boo says no one visits us except those darn cable guys!

Bbl!

hi rues i would be as mad as crow! you know our freezing up alot but only for a minute and every time i hold my breath please come back on with all the money we pay stupid to feel that way. you would think repairman would get tired with coming out and just fix it maybe they dont have anyone smart to do that. boo so funny only cable guys come lol aint it the truth boo. i could see my boo with a cable man we have to put all the dogs out when he came here twice. next time you better fix this or boo will fix you!! its awful to not have cable tv. jims dad has it where he also has free antenna tv hooked up he can switch from cable to that and has cause cable was out. next time i am down there i will write stuff down see how that was done. at least have tv. i hope that booster works for you guys fingers are crossed! i wondered why you was here so early.. :) i know those minks are so cute if i ever saw someone wearing a mink coat i would be sleeping on a cot cause i would put the hurt on them the wind is awful here 40 mph pearl says i am sure happy in this barn and i dont plan on ever leaving it!!
