Good morning everyone- cal- you guys are getting all the storm. After 3 days of winter storm warnings this morning we don't even have a drop of precipitation on the forecast. The storm apparently changed direction and went south of us. Looks cloudy here and 30 out.

Yesterday afternoon we saw 5 bald eagles land at different times in the field across from us. four adults and a bigger looking juvenile. We watched them for about an hour when the adults left but the juvie hung around for a bit longer. I was just about to call the neighbor who owns the land to tell him I was going to walk in and check on the juvie when he flew off. So glad. We think they may have been migrating and landed to rest- does that even happen?

Waiting patiently for Mom Decorah and DM2! Wonder if the delay has anything to do with last year's ending?
so glad Southeast Florida has another egg.

Baby albatross is getting big. Yesterday when parent tried to tuck him in he squirted out the side a bit. lol

time for breakfast-have a great day jewelies!

Good morning everyone- 28 here and a bit windy. cal- glad that your new way of picking up stuff at Wal-Mart works out for you. Saves you time and some lifting too. We noticed that even Blain's Farm and Fleet has a pick up lane now.
Also glad your credit card people are on the ball. Our debit card which is a master card has caught numerous bad charges. Probably the funniest one was a charge at a hotel in Beighing (spelling is wrong but I don't know the right way).Called to see if I was in China last night. No- I am in Iowa on my land line.

I guess all the bad weather went south of us. We had more bald eagles in the field across from us again yesterday afternoon. I'm wondering if maybe the neighbor put out a dead pig just over the hill. Will ask when I see him. The area isn't visible from the road and is behind a confinement building.

The Hawkeye lost in basketball last night to Michigan State-78- 79. What a bummer! Next is Saturday and Penn State. Will be a tough game.
Time for breakfast- have a great day jewelies!

hi lupe well i feel better knowing this happened to you too. crooks all over the world.

i got the new ottoman yesterday and put it together just screw on the legs but at first would not go what then saw they had plastic shealth over the screw part in the legs just twisted that off good to go i left the plastic wrap on it. then i covered it back up with a heavy blanket put it back where the other one was. longer little wider but fit in there. girls did not even know a new one was there. never even went over there last night. they are on to every thing but not that. well not yet. here is a picture of the old one missy gave me like over ten years ago it survived all the boys still in decent shape till the girls brownie and penny  i hope they are done doing that.

Cal, nice ottoman! Is it leather? Robin's neighbor moved and left a few things out at the curb. One thing was a leather ottoman that looks like your new one. We waited till dark (hoping no one would get it before us) and we went and got it and carried it into the house! It was a little dirty and had a slit on the top. The neighbor had a couple dogs and cats so we figure one of them ripped it! We cleaned it up and draped a throw over it. It looks great!  Boy, the girls did a number on your old one! Lol! Looks like something Boo and Kessel would have done in their youth! Crow has a meeting with his dentist on Monday afternoon to discuss the procedure and exactly what the cost will be. He is feeling so much better now that the loose teeth are gone and hopefully he can get his dentures at a reasonable price. The cable specialists came yesterday afternoon. They were very nice guys. They checked out everything and replaced the connectors on the cables to each tv. There was some number that registered high and they got it down to what it was supposed to be. I had no idea what they were talking about! So far everything is working ok! Fingers crossed it continues!  Our Walmart has orange lockers but the south side Walmart has that tall tower. I was wondering how that tower thing worked! I saw two turkey vultures Monday in the trees at the country club! That's their favorite hangout. I bet they are like your Scout! Congrats to Jeanne and Scott!

Lupe, how cool that you can see so many eagles practically in your back yard! Are you sure you weren't in a hotel in China the other night? Lol! We use one card for practically everything we buy. About a year ago, PNC contacted us that it had been hacked and they were sending us a new card. What a pain.

Hoping Ra, Jp, Jo and Nora are doing ok! Miss you guys!

Daily Updates
Ted Gives a Look! - UPDATE February 26, 2020
26 February 2020
 Print Email
With the temperature at 18?F, Ted ventured out for a look around while giving us a look at his slender physique. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtoRW-GQeK0. He obviously has lost weight since last fall. Beautiful, lovable Ted! He makes me want to go say hi to him. Mink Stripe with Flounder
Mink Stripe with Flounder
I can imagine him telling me with his friendly grunts that he is glad to see me, as I always am to see him. I know he says the same thing to everyone, but I still like it.

Stripe stopped by today and seemed to be happy with pieces of flounder, but then she walked past the window without a look, went down to her hole in the snow and retrieved a piece of bologna that she took to her hole under the living room bay window and disappeared for the day.

At the Bear Center, more exhibit changes in the works as everyone puts their heads together. The talk today was also about a building humidifier to keep the taxidermy from drying and cracking in winter. The polar bear is virtually irreplaceable. The $17,000 we paid is only a fraction of what it is worth today. A humidifier that should do the trick is $3,000. I?m thankful for the many dedicated people who put their hearts into the mission to stay on top of so many aspects of what is needed there.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- cal- from the dog shame- what does nbd stand for? Not a bad dog??

rues- your cable story reminds me how thankful I am that we are part of a co-op here and all the service is local. Our phone, cable and internet is one co=op and electricity is another co-op. The one Sunday I called in the morning and left a message that we had no cable, phone or internet they came out after lunch- had diagnosed the problem from the office and had the needed part to fix it. I was amazed!!! We thought if we heard from them by Monday afternoon we would be happy.

Ted does indeed look slim and very sleepy. It would be really interesting to somehow monitor his metabolic rate as he begins to come awake in the spring. Is it a slow rise- like me after coffee or does it happen faster?

Not much on for today- taking sil for bandage change after lunch then to a grocery store if she needs to go. She is still feeling pretty good. Our local grocery had asparagus on sale again so I took her some on Tuesday. She is staying away from crowds which is good- lots of flu here.
ra- I hope you are spending time outside by now; I need to pick up sticks soon.

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi ev1,
6.54 to see warning sign of cow flying into traffic.  Seems very unusual to me.
Joan doing good.  Snoring in chair right now, but has been getting around much better lately. Using wheelchair only about 10% of the time now, and has been to Hungry Bear 3 times in last two weeks.  They have steps to enter.  No ramp.  So we had to wait until Joan could climb before we could go there.  Now she can YAY.  Also, been to Walmart on her own twice.  She loves Walmart on her own without me nagging her to get done.
Beautiful snowy morning.  So clean and nice looking.  Glad we do not have to go out though. Bitter wind blowing snow around.  Niece came in over the weekend.  Took all of her dad's things out of storage and back to her home in Long Lake NY on Sunday.
It was sad, but also very nice to see her and meet her husband.  We had a nice dinner on Friday at our favorite Hungry Bear in Litchfield.  We also got to watch her dogs run through their agility trials on Saturday.  We did not get to visit her dad's grave, but maybe she and her sister, who lives in CA, will visit this Summer.  Hope so.
Nice to see all of your posts each day.  Yesterday I introduced Joan to Cal's puzzle posts.  She liked it, and will do them again I think.  She usually does Facebook stuff most of the time, and gets really into reading all those health stories and cures.  Always hoping to find some miracle cure for this or that so she can try or share with her friends.  Drives me nuts.  She pays more attention to Facebook than to her team of Cleveland Clinic doctors.
Well GTG. Again, thanks for posting.  Come on Spring with its animal viewing action.
God bless all those in need.

Hi Jewelies!  I'm so far behind here! I'm not even going to try to comment on everything!  I finally got my new laptop going!  I took it back to the computer store and they had their young tech work on getting the touch pad off.  It took him a lot of tries, but finally he got it!   It made me feel less stupid that it took him so long!  lol

cal... I saw Travis Kelce on Seth Meyers' late show last night.  There was a comment on his behavior in the parade and they showed a pic of them on the float.  Didn't look like Mahomes was real happy with the way Kelce was acting.  I loved what that journalist said about Patrick that you posted before.  Thank you for all the triangle puzzles you've been putting here in the mornings!!

lupine... Yes, I'm working in my yard as much as all the rain will let me.  So much rain for us this winter!!  It was nice and sunny today, but very windy and cold, so I stayed in the house all day.  I admire how you and hubby are stepping up and doing what needs to be done for his family members with health issues.

rues... I hope Crow gets a decent price for his new teeth.   Why have insurance if it doesn't pay for what you need??  I don't know how they can get away with that.  I got 20 bags of mulch this week, put a tarp down in my car for it, but it has so much water inside the bags, I had a mess in my car anyway.  The bags are so heavy with all the water, that I can hardly lift them!!

Joho...  What good news that Joan is doing better!!

Hi to everyone!  Sorry I've been MIA...  I'll try  to do better...

Good morning everyone- cal- I think i'll pass on your old ottoman. I've been lucky through the years. none of my critters have destroyed any furniture. But then I never had big dogs.
ra- good to see you. If I had heavy mulch bags I would open them in my trunk and take out a bucketful at a time. My guess is that they were stored outside- right?  I was thinking when I got my laptop that the touchpad wouldn't be a problem but sometimes%&#@. At least I think that- couldn't be me- right?
johoward- so good to see you and hear how joan is doing. What is the Hungry Bear? Will have to look it up. I always enjoy your stories. I don't do facebook but I do listen to my favorite web site pod casts. I feel my main concern with that info is that we are all so different from each other that we need to remember that what works for one person may not work for me. I also must say that I am envious of your snow- most of ours is gone now. sigh!!!

Need to checkon Mom Decorah- first egg- yay!
Have a great day jewelies!
