Cal, glad that Polly got to come to your place and not have to stay at work! Hope you two get some fun game time in. We have had 2 really nice days but the heat is back on tomorrow. Yesterday our pool water was 92! We had the solar blanket on it for a couple days and it really warmed the water up. I like warm water but 92 is just too warm to be refreshing. Can't believe it is mow day tomorrow. Time is flying by. The rain went around us the other day so our yard is very dry. The grass didn't grow much. Noticed that hateful fall grass is growing very well. I think it loves hot dry temps.

Lupine, Crow is so excited because Croatia beat England and now plays France for the championship! Your vacation plans sound wonderful! What a nice trip for you and hubby! Crow and I haven't been on real vacation together since 1995.We went to Daytona Beach. We did go to Charlottesville, VA, to his family reunion in 1998 but that was just a weekend thing. In 2002 we went to California twice to visit Robin but I don't count that as a vacation! Going to the beach is a vacation for us. We look  forward to a beach vacation sometime before we die.

Jp, sweetest pic of Ursula!

Jo, my sister was in Columbus last weekend. She got a bushel of Georgia peaches from a Georgia peach truck. The guy told her to put the hard peaches out on the kitchen counter and they would ripen up within a couple days. She said the peaches are the size of a softball! I am thrilled that Joan is doing so well and enjoying life!

Have a nice evening Jewelies! :)

Also, I might have been too quick to give strong support to the ukulele name Lily?s Hope. I?ve seen some other clever names appear now, such as Shadow of Hope and UkeLily.

Tasha

I thought Lily?s Hope was good because it named the two bears that brought together so many Lily Fans who showed their appreciation for the Garber?s actions that brought about so much for bears since 1999.

Then I saw Shadow of Hope, that reflects the name of the clan matriarch (Shadow) and Hope in a way that speaks of the hope we all have for more radio collars and den cams to again pull together knowledge of bears and share it with the world for the good of bears.

But then UkeLily does some of that and seems so apropos for this contest with its roots in Lily?s Hope.

Still thinking and watching for more cleverness from Lily Fans.

Thank you for all you do.

hi jewelies! it is 74 here but feels like 82. another 100 day with index 105 plus.  :( love seeing the girls playing again. tasha has the right idea playing in that pond too. i like the other names for the uke too shadow of hope is good too. so is ukelily. great videos today.

hi jp! thanks for the good morning and pic of victoria. yay the marlins won boo the royals lost to the twin. 5-8. they could not win two in a row. they are off today so no game. i do not know how they play in this heat. on the radio i heard hottest job is people who work at the dry cleaners. it was like 125 or higher in there make their own humidity. pretty hot inside the ford plant too when it is a 100 they give ca and them a break every hour. ca said he wears wet towels around his neck and drinks lots of water he suffers with leg cramps really bad in this weather. been eating more bananas.

hi lupe! i saw roger lose yesterday to anderson it was a good game. i saw just a little of isner happy he won and saw rafa. yay he won. :) i saw that patterson book at walmart. i just read a thriller sharp objects. it was a thriller i wanted to read the whole book but from the start almost i already figured out who done it so it was not surprising at the end for me at all.

hi rues! sister and i did play our game i had tennis on the tv so trying to play my game and listen to tennis and stop and watch it here and there. today i am going to drag out my hose and water this tall bushes that have grown next to the barn they look very sad and they help put shade on my barn. feel sorry for them. we need rain in the worse way. only a 30% chance tomorrow and friday i think. that is hot for pool water! i been filling up my bird bath in the front of the house for the birds have bowls of water out everywhere. my lbb that her nest down below has two little babies i got the fan on them i got mad at sister yesterday she was starting trouble about the tv downstairs in her room which is still part of our house and our tv she went out to smoke where the baby birds are. i let her smoke one then i went out there and saw the parents upset and the babies had their mouths open waiting for food and so hot anyway i told her one cig and go back in that mom is needed her feed her kids she got all mad at me like heck with them babies. i blew up said then take your butt and your nasty cig to your car and smoke!!!! she said fine i will good makes me sick to have a sister that does not feel anything for wildlife. poor wildlife trying to survive.

Hi to all you guys!

Good morning everyone- having breakfast at Wimbledon- just talking so far- looking forward to Serena- thanks jp for pooh and Victoria. Hope the news is good from your blood test.
Really love the pictures from the update- Tasha and Holly look like hairy humans standing like that- i'm saving the videos for later.
cal- I understand your dismay at your sister's lack of compassion for wildlife. Hard to believe you two are sisters growing up in the same house. My brother and I are totally different too.
rues- wow your pool water is way too hot for me but it would be good for my joints; I thought about crow when I caught the end of the soccer match- good for Croatia- does crow make a choice for the winner? is France the favorite.

Need to get set here- Serena plays second- hard to believe the tennis will be as epic as the men's matches yesterday- we'll see. This is the day for my sil and I to have lunch then we're going to or new place to recycle. don't know if she has been there yet so i'll show her the ropes.
Have a great day jewelies!

I've had a hard time posting pics for some reason but I figured it out- took a little while though. Amsterdam flowers sound  beaujtiful- I really like tulips but I quit planting them- deer wait til the bud comes up then dine on them. Yes Luka and Mr. crow- final is Sunday I think. Need to load up my recycling stuff. Tennis done for today.

Hi Jewelies! I forgot to tell you that I picked my first 2 tomatoes on Tuesday! Came right inside and made a couple tomato and mayo sandwiches! Lots of salt and pepper, too! Yummmmy! I wait all year for homegrown tomatoes. Also the farm stand finally started picking their sweet corn! Oh, my what a treat. So far no half runner green beans though, only pole beans. Half runners are my favorite. Great time of the year for fresh veggies!

Cal, what a cool pic of Tasha and Holly standing upright! They look like boxing bears! I wish Polly could quit smoking. Maybe someday she will. I could never understand why anyone would purposely suck smoke into their mouth and lungs! Everyone in my family use to smoke. Now no one does. I'm so glad they all quit. That would be a sight to see... all the blooming tulips in Amsterdam!

Lupe, your primrose is so pretty! I have a few yellow ones and use to have pink ones. Mine bloomed earlier in the spring. Crow will be for Croatia but he thinks France will win. He hopes he is wrong! Hope you and sil had a nice day!

Jp, hope you had a nice dr visit! Great pic of Victoria!

Lucky.

Hello to all this Friday.  I am sending all kinds of good wishes to each.

I am unable to report a Marlins win or lose as they did not have a game.  And that permitted me to have a regular, comfortable night's sleep.
