Tennis was a bit disappointing- Tiafoe won first 2 sets then I don't know where he went- lost the next 3- phooey! Rafa and Novak won and Hsieh deserved to win- great game. Really pleasant here- no ac today- went out after tennis and weeded and dead headed both south beds- weeds are having a hard time of it. Really dry. Cut back a bunch of petunias- waves get leggy so cutting them back encourages new growth. they do look a bit sparse for awhile.

Tank stayed outside most of today- really funny when it's hot out he comes in and sleeps in hubby's chair. Smart kitty.

rues- did crow watch soccer? I watched part of the first game but missed the second. I haven't watched Tour de France for a long time. Lance Armstrong really is a disappoi tment for me. Why can't these people just tell the truth the first time? When I lived in Colorado I had some friends who did mountain biking- they were nuts- wanted me to get a bike- I said i'll just walk- don't want to have to get me and a broken bike out too.

time to feed critters and maybe me. too. cal- I cleaned today too!

Hi Jewelies! What a wonderful day we had here! Low humidity with temps in the 70's! It was also a great day to do some trimming. I have a viburnum bush at the front corner of the house that grew like crazy. I didn't realize how big it was until I started cutting it back. Way too much to put into trash bags for our regular trash man. So Crow called Mike, the guy that we use when we have a lot of stuff that needs hauled away. While waiting for Mike to come, I trimmed the barberries and the rhododendron, too. All the rain we have had really helped things to grow! No rain expected now till later next week. Back to 90's, too.

Cal, Molly is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Sorry took me soon long to answer your question!  I took my last steroid this morning. All week long I felt no pain or burning. But now I feel a tingling in my hip. Geez, I hope it's all in my head. :-\  Do you and Polly have time to play your game anymore? I saw a new version of Atari at Walmart the other day. Super Mario was my first game to play. I was horrible at it but I enjoyed trying. I remember how sore my thumbs got! lol!  The puppies will have a good life living with you! They are so fortunate to have been left at your place.

Lupe, Crow got up at 5 am this morning to watch the bike race! Then on to soccer. He was thrilled that his "people" from Croatia won! His grandpa came from Croatia and his grandma from Hungary. Then this afternoon he was watching horse racing from Belmont. I was lucky he was able to squeeze some time in to help me with the trimming this morning! Lol! I have a mountain bike. I haven't ridden it several years. It gathers dust in the garage. My sis, her roommate and I use to ride the rail trails all over the state. For 3 summers that was our week long vacation. We had so much fun. Then my sis's knees got bad and we stopped riding. Now she goes to the beach and I stay home and look after her house and pets! lol!

Jp, thanks for the tunes yesterday and for pic of Fred! Hope you got your car fixed!

Eaglette, hope you aren't near any of the horrible fires!  Stay safe.

Have a nice evening! :)

Bow with one of her cubs.

Sunday finds me having overslept but wishing all a very nice day.

I was up late suffering the miserable loss the Marlins had. They lost 18-4.  They now have lost something like 17 straight game to the nationals.

We Won!!! - UPDATE July 7, 2018
 Print  Email
It's official. A contest official emailed the Garbers that they won and will get the $1,829.00 (listed on the site for $1,499.00) Pono ukulele from Hawaii in a few days. Click to view. Tasha shedding her winter coat
Tasha shedding her winter coat
They said they had checked out the voting, knew about the Lily Fans and their support for the Garbers, and that the Garbers had done a lot to promote bear research and education. They wrote that they were glad it was going to people like them.

Meanwhile, I've been looking at names Lily Fans have suggested. So far, I like "Lily's Hope" because I think it will be a conversation starter when people ask the Garbers how the ukulele got that name. And what a story to tell!

Here at the Wildlife Research Institute, we are still without a land line, internet/email/WiFi, and am told it will not be fixed until July 20th or maybe even the 24th. The phone people can't predict. So I'm not fully up on what is going on, but I understand that the Pond Chatters have been capturing good action videos of the four bears:

I'm looking forward to the Black Bear Field Courses that start tomorrow.

To write this update, one person is waiting to take a picture of my computer screen to send it on to Linda McColley to transcribe and post. Another is sending Linda the video links to add.

Shadow was spotted just now for the first time this year. Anxious to see if she is lactating.

Thank you for all you do. And thank you for showing our appreciation to the Garbers with your votes.

hi jewelies! it is 59 here! really nice up to 90 today but really nice now. Yay the garbers won! power of the bears! lilys  hope a good name for it. really nice of them people in hawaii happy they won too for helping the bears for all this time. good little videos today and that picture of tasha shedding she looks like honey did when she shed doesnt she Jo? long time to wait for the land line. dr rogers must really be out in the boondocks. Wow shadow has been spotted. i hope that poor old bear does not have another cub this fall. just worry about herself for a change.

Hi Jp! Thanks for the pic bow with her kid and the good morning. marlins lost 18-4 well royals lost 15-4. we have a afternoon game with boston today.

hi Rues! thanks for molly info. now i remember. i could tell by your yard work you was feeling good. steroid high! next week we are back to 100 again too. missys kid be back in school next month. i think the 18th. seems early but then they get out in the middle of may. nice no school buses right now not nice to hear whining crying screaming kids at walmart but if go real early dont see them. i had such a stupid dream last night. missy was here and she was painting my wall a real dark brown. i was saying to her why are you doing that? sister and i did play our game last week on wed in the morning. we are at rabbit ridge tower and it is hard. have to go thru each boss  rabbit up the tower mess up and die and have to start all over again. get to the roof and have all four after you. we googled it and found out at the beginning of the game we could turn on this option make it easier for us. instead of starting with 3 hearts get 6 and get that special heart have 9 hearts so can take 9 hits. and if we fall of a cliff whatever instead of dying we come back with 1 hit gone. so we turned that on and next week will try again with that help. love the original supermario on the original nes. i know about them sore thumbs! puppies are barking and jim has already screamed and slammed his door shut.  >:( hope he has to work tomorrow.

hi Lupe! tennis was great! watched most of . Djokovic and that ball bounced twice! :)

well i got to go puppies and all hi to all you guys

Good morning everyone- no tennis today- cal I did the puzzle and was laughing so hard that iforgot my time; will have to go check the colors on my bikinis and ankle bracelets when i'm done posting-lol  jp -ty for the morning teddy, bow and cub and so sorry your team is doing so poorly; 18 to 4 is certainly depressing but surely they have nowhere to go but up!

cal- it is 58 here- just wonderful- didn't turn ac on at all yesterday; tank has been out for his morning romp and breakfast and is sleeping in hubby's chair. tank comes to the front window and looks in- very cute. Snoring now- must be the chair- hubby does that too. I am starting to try to get caught up on cleaning out files and moving some to attic file cabinets. My 2 drawers down here get so stuffed I have a hard time finding anything and for the last 6 months I just put everything in the front of the drawer. I can get done today- hubby going to take his 57 Ranchero in to town for a car show- I don't think there is any competition just a bunch pf guys showing off their old vehicles. He spent quite abit of time cleaning and vacuuming yesterday- I think he even vacuumed the engine- well- it has been dusty here.

rues- I can identify with crow- I cheer for Serbia- my dad from there- that's why Novak Djokovic is special to me. So impressed with the trimming you got done- lucky you had help; my hubby would never help. Probably a good thing as we've found that we don't work well together. I have watered every other day here- just annuals- perennial beds are on their own. My tall white phlox is blooming now and alliums, sweet William and bush lilies and of course Missouri primrose are hanging on. Just by sheer luck I seem to have something blooming in the perennial bed south of the house that I can see from my recliner- life is good!

Have a great day jewelies!

It took me 5:31 to realize I did not have to match anything.  That give me time to officially wish Cal and Jim a happy anniversary.

Mike.

Monday greetings for you all.  It is great to greet you.

After losing three straight games to the Nationals the Marlins got their act together and had 22 hits to the Nationals 5 and won the game last night 10-2.  Yhe game lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes.

It is the day my cleaning lady comes so I need to get my lunch in early as she comes at noon.

Excitement. Learning A great start. Among the bears being spotted for us to see are Lily and Shadow. At this moment, it's partly cloudy, 76?F, and mirror smooth water. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Today at the North American Bear Center we had our bears' 1/2 birthday party fundraiser. The four bears received pi?atas filled with healthy treats.
