Afternoon everyone- ty jp for Ohio and polka dot tie teddy  and the peanuts gang, also ty for the music- a real treat,

Tennis is not going so well for the Americans- one woman left- serena- YAY. and 3 men- John Isner, Mackie MacDonald and Frances Tiafoe. But roger Federer won today too. I heard an interview with the woman who keeps the falcon named Rufus. He lives at the Club during the Champiionships and his job is to fly in early morning and late in the evening to scare away the pigeons. Apparently they like to roost and make nests in the various structures there. So mostly they get chased to the golf course. Rufus is 11 years old and his handler told of an incident where he was kidnapped several years ago. They fed him 3 times what he usually gets and kept him covered so he wasn't stressed at all. The birdnappers decided to give him back and his handler said he was fine. The broadcaster doing the interview held him during the talk and of course he pooped in the broadcast booth. His handler apologized and rufus was forgiven.

cal- you are a stronger person than me- even though I had a dog he was house trained by the time I got him. I don't think I have the energy to do that now. Today was a lot cooler with a nice breeze and i'm sending your way cal. We slept with a few windows open last night. Tank went out first thing to eat breakfast with my other 2 but came to the front window to come back in til it warmed up. What a guy!!

Need to catch up on stuff around here- Have a great Friday!

Fred, out of Samantha.

Happy wishes on this, the completion of the first week in July.  I certainly hope it has been a good week, generally, for all Jewelies.

Not too good a week for the Marlins as they won three and lost four.  Lost last night 3-2 by a walk-off home run in the 9th.

May this Saturday treat you well.

Good morning everyone- ty jp for the winking frog and buzzing bee teddies and Fred.
Nice cool morning here and sunny. no play at Wimbledon yet just talk; cal- cooler air on the way but we have no rain- no need for us to mow this weekl. we have cowbird nesting in a tree close to the house and by where I park my car. He is a mouthy thing- yells at us and even the cats- I talk to him or her and she responds. Very cute- if she has babies I can't hear them. Swallows still around and doing a really good job of keeping us bug free- well except for the beetles but they seem to have vacated the area. Just a few on the asparagus and in the wild plum tree. It is mostly dead but we've put off cutting it down because the birds love perching in it- in all seasons.

Interesting fact- wearing white at Wimbledon came about so that sweat wouldn't show. Especially for the women- can you imagine playing tennis in a corset and all those petticoats? Sheesh!

Full day of tennis today- only American playing is Frances Tiafoe- ihope it is televised- haven't seen him play much- just highlights. The one amazing fact this year is I never once thought that at this stage of the tournament that only one American woman is left and that woman is  Serena Williams. She is fierce- what a woman.

Have a great day jewelies!
