Hi Jewelies! I don't know why this laptop keeps changing Jewelies to jewelries but it does it every time! Still baking in the high 90's. Whew, it's hard to breathe outside. Anyone ever had sciatica nerve problems? Well, apparently that's what I have been suffering with for the past week. Went to the doctor this morning and she gave me steroids to help with the inflammation. Hopefully this will help. If not then ex rays and other treatment plans. Fingers crossed the steroids help. I'm practically useless right now. I have a constant pain in my hip that feels like it is on fire. Sorry to complain. I have never had an ache like this. >:(

Cal, what a shock when you were told there was a lien on your old car! Sounds like a old clerical mistake. That is a wonderful donation you are giving to a vet! Wow, that's some bad damage at the bear center. Glad that no one or any animals were hurt. Can't imagine no electricity for days and days. I would not have made a good pioneer. Sure sounds like the new puppies are enjoying living with you! Do you think you will end up keeping them? Thanks for the videos in advance! I'll go back and watch them when I finish here!

Jp, cute pic of the little bear on the limb. He looked a little precarious out there!

Lupe, my dad originally worked at the Libbey Owens Ford Glass factory. Later it changed to the Johns Manville Company. They made glass marbles that were then melted down into flat glass for vehicles. The plant went out of business in the 1980's, I think. I know you were probably thinking of decorative glass like Fenton Art glass (which was only 10 miles up river from us) or one of the many other decorative glass plants that were in the state. Blenko glass is still in production. I laughed at Cal's comment to let your undies hang down, too!  I always bought my undies at Kmart! Now both stores have closed in my county. There is still one open in Marietta, Ohio, but I don't know for how long that will be. I need to stock up on them!  Liver and onions was one of my dad's favorite meals. He liked fried oysters, too. Yucky to both! I always have Japanese beetles eating my rose buds. A real pain in the neck.

Have a great evening Jewelies! :)

Loppy with a face only a mother could love.

Our first Tuesday in JUly and I wish only good things for you all today.

I have to go to the doctor for a blood test this morning.  Regular every 6 month deal.

My car AC conked out.  They are ordering a replacement part and then, w;hen the part arrives, I will have to leave my car  for a couple of days as they have to remove the dashboard  to work it.

Cal, I think steroids are great! That burning pain is gone already and I only started taking the pills yesterday afternoon! There is still a little pain if I move my hip in an odd way but to have that burn sensation gone is such a relief! I was lucky that I didn't have any pain down my leg. I know now that if this happens again I will call the dr and get steroids immediately. Robin says they always help her Crohn's when she has a flare up. Is your hip and leg pain an ongoing thing? Something that you will always suffer with? Lots of people swear by dog crating. Robin's friend crates her dog, Luna. Luna loves her crate and sleeps in it and retreats to it like it was her room. Luna travels with them and she stays in her crate in hotel rooms. We tried Molly in a crate when she was a puppy. She didn't mind it but we did, so we sold it! Lucky for us Molly turned out to be a good dog and never caused any damage or destruction to the house. Hope the news is wrong about July being above normal temps all month long! Cool that you can hear the swallows feeding their babies! I don't have swallows around my house. I've seen them when we used to go on  bike rides on the bike rail trails. Must be country birds not city birds! I have pigeons that come to my feeders!

Jp, always love to see Loppy's pic! What a bear! Got to have ac in your car! Hope they give you a rental.

Lupe, you watching tennis or soccer? Crow has been glued to the tv watching soccer.

Hi everybody- what a day of tennis- jp ty for the colorful teddies and and loppy. He reminds me of my fuzzy cat who looked a lot like loppy. hope your blood draw went okay- a lot depends on the person doing it.

cal- wow- I was just complaining to my hubby that our electric bull is $76 this month- after hearing yours I won't say a word. It is 93 here- mowed after tennis was over- didn't wait til soccer was over.  Came in and was so hot- took a cool shower and went to the store for an adult beverage ...or six. We only had 5 losses today- worst one was Jack Sock who won the first 2 sets then proceeded to lose the next three- what a bummer. Rafa won- he is so fun to watch.

rues- so glad the meds are working- did the doctor decide what the cause of the inflammation is? Do you have osteoarthritis also. Who is crow rooting for? I just like to watch and an amazed at the footwork of thos guys plus the endurance.

Should see if the critters want fed. The day flew by!!

After 4:33 I decided that it was the husband telling the wife she needed to keep the nest cleaner.

Hi everyone- Wimbledon is in a rain delay with 2 American men yet to finish; Venus, Serena and Madison Keys won this morning and Sam Querrey, Mackie McDonald, and Roger Federer won, too. ty jp for jewel and Mickey's greeting.,

It is hot and humid here- had to go water some containers- I don't think I've ever seen zinnias wilt before. Even tank stayed in the house all morning. I went to the library yesterday to get the third Harry Potter book and they didn't have it.!!! Yikes- will have them get it from another library later.

It was good to see blueberries are ready. I get berries from Michigan- but them in 10 pound boxes and freeze them in small bags. I eat them most every morning on my oatmeal. I think mine come from a farm- i'd hate to think I eat blueberries that bears need.

cal- did you get your mowing done- i'm getting really fast on the ztr mower and I haven't run into anything for 2 times now. Make sure you drink lots of water- rehydrate!

Have a great day jewelies!

Cal, your July 4th greeting is so on point! I didn't do a very good job of keeping Molly safe. Last evening before dark idiots around here started setting off their fireworks. At one point it sounded like a war movie was being filmed outside my house. Molly came into the bedroom scared. She laid down by my bed and whined and whined. I turned the tv volume up to try drown out the booming. Sometime after 10 the Country Club set off their fireworks that went on for 45 minutes. Finally a little after 11 it quieted down. Molly really needed to go potty bad. So I let her out. I always go out with her at nighttime because she doesn't see well. She peed and was walking around like she wanted to do some more.  All of a sudden the neighbor behind us set off the biggest racket of fireworks! Scared me to death! Scared Molly too. Next thing I hear is a splash! Molly fell into the pool! Omg!  She was completely under water! I ran over to her just as she popped up and I grabbed her and pulled her up out of the pool. I was shaking like a leaf. She was coughing but she was ok. There was a towel left out from my swim earlier in the day so I dried her off with it. Had to wake Crow up to tell him his dog almost drowned. He wondered if she would have swam to the steps if I hadn't rescued her. I wasn't taking any chances. We don't know if she even knows how to swim. You know, she loves to sit on the pool steps. The second step is a far as she ever goes. There will be more fireworks tonight. >:(  If that little girl needs to go out tonight she will have a leash on her. She was 2 in the pic below, 12 years ago!

Does Polly like the new pups? Those blueberries look so good. I put frozen blueberries in my cereal and sometimes in my salads. I love fruit, can you believe my older sister hates fruit? She's weird! Hope you got your mowing done! Tomorrow is Thursday which means mow day for us. Hope to get an early start in the morning because another hot day is in store. We had heat advisories today 95 but feels like 105! Robin stopped by for an indoor 4th of July picnic! We had hot dogs on the indoor George Forman grill! Lol!

Jp, beautiful pic of our Jewel! Going out tonight to see fireworks?

Lupe, my regular doctor was on vacation this week so I saw her nurse practitioner. I really liked her. She said it could be either the sacroiliac joint or sciatic nerve inflammation. She said let's try the steroids and if didn't work then we would need to do some other tests. Right now I feel fine, no pain at all. I'm sure I have osteoarthritis in my neck and spine. Robin was diagnosed with it as was my older sister. Crow said he doesn't have any soccer favorites. He just enjoys watching how well the teams play! He can hardly wait for the Tour de France to start Saturday!

Hope all the Jewelies are enjoying the 4th! Missing all of you!  :)
