RRP has announced D29's fledge:

6-23-18 ~ D29 Has Fledged!
We don't have the exact time of D29's fledge but know that s/he was spotted as early as 6:26am CT in a tree next to the natal nest, and has since been spotted in other locations including our live cam on a nearby branch.

D30 has also been spotted flying around the area and perched, becoming more adept and skillful since its fledge on June 20th. That leaves us with brancher D31 who has yet to take its leap of faith, but will do so when it has the confidence and most likely take us by surprise as well. Can't just one of this group send out a "save the date" invitation?

Congratulations to D29!

Love Paul. Is his hair dyed or just grey?

Cal, give cousin Janice a big bear hug for me! I loved the video! I have loved Paul since the first time I saw him. I was in 8th grade! Those lucky people that were in the right place at the right time to get to see him and hear him sing.  Man wish I could be so lucky! Paul just celebrated his 76 birthday on June 18th. I like his hair so much better now than when he had it dyed. I think he looks thin though. He is still gorgeous! We saw him in concert in Charlotte, NC, in 1993 with Linda and Wings. I can't believe he is 76. But then I can't believe I'm 67! :o

Cedar Fun - UPDATE June 23, 2018
 Print  Email
Lucky and Holly, especially Lucky, took full advantage of the new cedar chip pile at the Bear Center. Lucky and Holly enjoy the cedar pile
Lucky and Holly enjoy the cedar pile
The cedar chip pile has always stimulated play on it and rolling in it. I don?t know the whole story about why cedar chips stimulate this behavior but it is likely related to the presence of thujone, a chemical with the name derived from the genus name for cedar?Thuja. Thujone repels fleas and ticks and some other insects. The bears put on a good show at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uos9YLl5h_w (8:50 minutes) and at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIKH47qvyjo (59 seconds).

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- jp- ty for tug boat teddies, valentine the Sunday garden. Loved the update vids of bears in the cedar chips. I hope Ted got his share too. cal- frontline for bears- didn't know they made such a thing.

cal- not a super Beatles fan but I do like their music- Paul impressed my more on that video than any Ed Sullivan appearance did. I will admit I knew most of the words to the songs they sang. In my teens the only concert I went to was Frankie Avalon- sigh! Tell me who boobie is- not sure I've heard that story. Tank was anaughty boy yesterday- hubby caught him across the road with a stray- screaming at each other. No fight yet- hubby got them separated- stray ran off and tank ran to the yard. I went out after a few minutes and got tank in the house. He attacked hubby's leg and feet- no injuries on hubby but tank is almost possessed after an encounter like that. i'm really tempted to re home with someone who will keep him inside. Anyhow- no injuries on tank but he is still a bit freaky this morning. Usually doesn't want back in in the morning but he came back in directly after eating breakfast with my other two.  Geesh what a guy!

Supposed to be nice here- storms tomorrow maybe. Have a great day jewelies!

lupe i forgot dona emailed she watches that bear cam a lot she told me this....Saw Grazer and her three cubbies there at Brooks earlier.  there was a bear on the landing/path heading to the camp...ranger kept trying to get it out of the pathway.  It appeared to be sleeping.  finally got it to move.  One in the water by the nanek river....seems to be fish heading up the river on the underwater cam.

Some reported fish jumping at the Falls already.  I didn't notice any.  They said Beadnose made an appearance with fresh wounds to the back of her neck and hair missing.....probably from a mating session.  Poor thing.  I hope she clobbered  him.  LOL

From RRP Facebook

D31 Fledged!
Last night, 6-23-18 at 7:29pm CT.

All three of the Decorah Eaglets now are fledgers and we'll see them coming and going as they take to the sky and explore more of their natal territory. The season isn't over yet. With our cameras at N2B, the old nest N1, and the Hatchery Pavillion Cam we should be able to see them regularly as they now begin "Outdoor School" and get additional lessons in flying, hunting and fishing for the next 6-8 weeks. It's such an exciting time for them, and for us too!

Congratulations D31!

Thanks to eaglewhisperer18 for the video:

Cal, beautiful pic of you and Boobie! Beautiful smiles! I don't remember ever seeing that pic. I know how much you loved her and miss her everyday. You went through a lot back then. I'm so glad you have Polly.  Funny story...last night right before I went to bed I noticed someone had left a voice mail on our landline from earlier in the day. I listened to it and it was Crow's friend Mark. They worked together at DuPont. They did lots of things together outside of work including many trips trout fishing in the mountains. After they both retired they sort of went their on way. Occasionally Mark calls to say hi and see how Crow is doing. They usually talk about all their aches and pains. However, this call was for me! He left me a message telling me about the You tube carpool karaoke with Paul! He saw it and knew I would love it! I need to call him today and thank him for thinking of me!  Talking about mating...Friday Robin's secretary was driving past Robin's house and saw a big white male cat mounting one of the small black females in the middle of Robin's driveway. Now there will be more kittens in the neighborhood. Just what that neighborhood needs. Wish that guy would get his hoard of cats neutered. We wouldn't have Wilson, though, if the hoarder had done that before!
