tempers flared last night jp

I t goes back to Monday night when Lewis Brinson wildly ducked a high inside pitch and then subsequently  got a hit that scored the tying run.  He sort of flipped his bat as he went to first base.  The Giant pitcher had some words for him and then then added some as the pitcher was walking off after having been relieved.  Apparently the pitcher hit something with his fist and broke some bone.  That upset the team in  general and last night when the Giant pitcher hit Brinson with a pitch, the Marlins assumed he did it on purpose and so they subsequently hit Posey with a pitch and the Marlins manager and pitcher got heaved.  Those things happen in baseball.

We will see what happens today at the game.

Strickland, the Giants pitcher who broke his hand is an idiot. Everyone had better throw very carefully today

Happy West Virginia Day! Thanks to President Lincoln we are celebrating our 155th birthday today! It's a state holiday and cake was served at many state facilities. We usually go to the Welcome Center on I-77 for cake but we didn't this time. Now I wish we had because I'm wanting some cake and it's over. Read on Decorah's Facebook page that today is also American Eagle Day! :)

Cal, we had 2 bad storms this afternoon. First one caused our power to be out 45 minutes. Thunder was so loud that it scared Molly so bad she peed on the kitchen floor! Then about an hour later another one came through. Just as fierce as the first one. Those 2 storms dropped over an inch of rain. Now they say another is on it's way. I just heard thunder in the distance. Molly is staying next to me. One good thing about the storms is that the temps are going to cool down to the low 80's!

Lupine, I enjoy reading about your flowers! We are a little ahead of you in plant blooming. My lilies, coreopsis, dianthus, cleome and butterfly weed have been blooming for awhile now. My yucca plant's flowers are fading and dropping off. You mentioned spider wort the other day. I love it but it is out of control! It has become a nuisance. Another plant that I love is soapwort. It, too, has also become a problem. Thirty some years ago Crow and I went fishing. We were walking on the railroad tracks when I spied this pretty flower and picked it. It smelled so good so I pulled up piece with roots and planted it when we got home. For the longest time I called it Railroad Track flower until I found out it was soapwort! I have to thin it out frequently.

Better get off here. I think the storm is near!  See you tomorrow!  :)

Black-Fsced Bow.

I greet you  happily this Thursday hoping it will be a good one for each of you.

Marlins finished their series with the Giants this season winning 4 of the 7 games.  They have a day off todayd, no game.

I am going to take a day off, too, as I am developing a sore throat..

Bear News - UPDATE June 20, 2018

Although today is almost the longest day of the year, there still weren?t enough hours in it. Mikah's cub

For Lucky, the night was too short and he slept in a bit. From the pile of branches next to him, I wonder if he was tired from climbing the aspen tree near him and breaking off branches.

Mike and Lorie made a good check of bear happenings in the area. At the deep rock den, trail cam pictures showed it to be a pretty busy place. Lily came through with her two yearlings before family breakup and then alone after family breakup. Loppy came through also but we don?t know if it was because Lily had been there. She was seen with a male elsewhere on June 2nd. Since then, Lily?s two yearlings were each caught separately on camera at the den. Ember as well, was caught several times on camera at the den?always alone. She is June?s orphan of 2013 and still hasn?t had cubs as a 5-year-old this year.

At another place, Mike and Lorie saw Jewel with her 3 cubs and also Jewel?s 4-year-old daughter Mikah with one female cub, her first litter. We all know the story of what happened when Lily had only one cub. We?ll be watching to follow this story with Mikah.

Two weeks ago, after Lily had been with a male, she came across her male yearling up a tree. Three times, she pulled him down as if to let him know he wasn?t welcome to be hanging around her after family breakup, but she didn?t injure him at all. Just another of the many ways family breakup can occur or be enforced.

Last night, 5-year-old Ellie chased a yearling away several times on camera at another place where she and her yearlings had spent time together before family breakup. On her final attempt to chase him away, she quietly stalked him but he saw her and ran.

In the last two days, Lily, Lucy, and Ethel put in appearances to the delight of all who reported them.

At the Bear Center an intern and Tasha had a tug-of-war (tug-of-fun) in this 46-second video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srCLmLAogH8q

Meanwhile, talk is ramping up about the LilyPad Picnic coming up in a month, starting with a bonfire at the Bear Center Friday evening, July 20. Tickets are available at www.lilypadpicnic.com.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- ty jp for the teddy and bow- do take care of yourself!
cal- that puzzle was mouth watering yummy- took me 3:07- very funny dog shame- I love them all and am glad they aren't my pets though I've had my share of naughty critters. Tank shows no interest in people food and we've decided to not give him anything. Our last cat inside- Fuzzy- always stood on hubby's lap and bumped his hand to get the last milk from the oatmeal. when you were talking about the duke- aka dew claws I was wondering if you had my duke on your mind. lol When I worked at vet clinics we removed dew claws from any dogs that would be out in fields- hunting dogs- a lot of times they get hooked on fences they jump, etc. and get injured so owners remove them while the puppy is a few days old. Not overly painful for them but I didn't like it.
Very humid again this morning- we had 1.2 inches yesterday. Hubby and i went to the city to see about mattresses for camping. I said i think they may have made advances sinces the ones we used in the swimming pools. Hubby was pessimistic as usual. We went to Fin and Feather and got a very helpful person. He showed us several kinds- i laid on them to see if they were enough support for my old arthritic self. Yeah- there were several- just need to measure the bed in the van to see is the double will fit. no problem getting it in the tent. Hubbby doesn't have problems so maybe we'll just get a single for me. Fairly expensive $180 for a single and 280 for a double. We even found a battery operated pump to pump it up. On the way home we could tell from the sky in the west that we weren't going to make it home before the rain started. Wow- it came down hard and windy- we pulled into a parking lot for a while then it got lighter and made it home.

rues- had to look up soapwort- very  pretty but i don't think that we have that here. i only have one patch of spiderwort in my garden and it is very invasive- i will probably wait until it goes to seed and collect the seed and maybe transplant the plant into the ditch. Our ditch lillies also known as tiger lillies are blooming- we have quite a few patches- i planted them all years ago. So glad we got rain. Do you have chicory there? It blooms mostly along the roadside- blue flowers- would love to be able to make my own coffee. Can't believe you missed cake on West Virginia Day- what were you thinking? lol

Have a great day jewelies

This is Mr, Obese reporting 5:07 on the buffet and 4:54 on the dessert buffet.  I would have stayed longer on the dessert buffet but I had to go find an Alka Seltzeer.

Anderson is a rookie.  The leading candidate for "Rookie of the year".  Good enough to be an all-star.
