Oldguy, best wishes and prayers for your MIL and family friend..... Thank you for the info on coachwhip. Our first contact with them was at our North Scottsdale home. OUCH! A 3' one jumped off a baker's rack that I had in the front entry for plants. It jumped to strike me as I was placing a plant on the rack. I heard a noise that sounded like a train turned and came face to face with it. I turned quickly and it stroke my right ear. I have a nice small nic on my right ear lobe from it's bit. We removed the baker's rack to the enclosed back yard.. The PO gal returned today, she was delivering a box for a neighbor. she saw me, and told me she decided it was a Kingsnake and wondered if I've seen it. We have boulders lots of wash areas where it could be, hopefully it's left looking for a nice mouse.... thanks for the videos Clinchfield Railroad rebuild is fascinating. Can't stop watching.
Tsk, Rev. Boomer is preparing himself for the serious duty of finding a new pope.... I felt very sluggish throughout the day, but I feel much better tonight. I had chicken noodle soup for dinner. Mike didn't eat the flank steak. This was one that Shannon gave us last year. It was dated July 2024 and tightly wrapped. It smelled fine after it was thawed... my stomach was very upset for the longest time. I've never had such pain before... I threw it away this morning. It'll be awhile before I'll eat meat again. 
... Yes, it's that women's education group. I'm the state Nominating Committee Chair. I'm presenting the ballot of officers for this next working year. Glad it's over...
The PO woman came by this afternoon while I was outside. She was delivering an Amazon box for a neighbor. She said she looked up the snake. It was a Kingsnake. I haven't seen it, but I've checked all the places where it could hide along side the house. I want to be sure there isn't any holes open for it to crawl into the lower patio or house.
