CLYNN  In the photo of the zinnias you posted - those are the "giant" ones.  I didn't realize I had bought the tall ones one  year and planted them around my middle of the yard birdbath - They were taller than the birdbath!!!  The birds could have used them as a diving board  LOL   Thanks for posting Sue's screen shot of Bodie.

KB   Cute raccoon.   ;D   We weed whip our boulevard as well as the tree roots make it impossible for grass to grow and the ground is very uneven.

Sunday Blessings Beakers, we have thoughtful days ahead of us! 🙏
Good morning Tsk, Karen, Clynn, Lisa, Paulie, Eagles4, Baz, Phyl, Lori, Kb, Tig, Oldguy, Puff, BL, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Blschue, Peep, Jaspurr, Lindy, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Nrstooge, jicaji, LB, and All!

I had a busy day yesterday. From trying to find a 4' Red Racer snake that frightened our PO delivery gal. - to eating a bad flank steak and ending up sick by 11pm. Nothing stayed in my stomach after that.  :-X That's why my night post was short... ugh  :-\  ..... never found the snake. She said it was trying to enter the garage. EEK!

Tsk, Glad to hear Barb/Tom are back.... I bet there are many wonderful Farmer Markets near you, able to provide the delicious veggies/fruit/jams, etc summer till early fall... very unusual that Kohl didn't let you know your charge card needed to be updated. Usually they do... though we discovered Payson Motor Vehicle Dept. no longer sent out license renewal letters... I love Zinnas and so does the butterflies in July and August.

Lisa, glad to know Mrs T is providing well for her eaglet.... good luck with your renovation... you'll love Zinnas, sometimes they reseed themselves. Like Snapdragons.

Kb, glad you're pleased with the paint job, though I read another post from you saying you're not sure about the color.  :) good luck with the rest of your projects.

Baz, Safe travels for your Lil Sis and Honey Bun! Looking forward to pics.  :) ... great Meatloaf song.

Karen, love the Caturday pic  ;D

{{{Phyl, Jim and Miss Maggie}}} sorry to read that you're having trouble with your computer, hopefully your browser will be back to working order soon... Sorry Miss Maggie isn't feeling well... sending prayers for {{{Miss Maggie}}} and praying the new week will be a better one.

Karen, I like to watch the Derby and follow with the other two. I'm so glad there were no injuries because of the muddy track.

BL and Pip! Congratulations on your Derby win!!  :o

Clynn, I felt awful when I turned off the lights!  :-X ... gorgeous zinnias, impatients.... great idea by Erin and Bella to plant in a wagon.... I'm itching to get to our garden center too. I thought I'd wait till Aly is here. Next week I have a convention to go to, Friday, Saturday and return home Sunday. Aly will help sit with the Sadie and the boys.... Magnificent NEFL Bodie.  :-*

Hi Puff, Tig  :)

Hello Beakers

Our card games have become less competitive recently as we now have 2 members with health problems - MIL with pour sight and hearing and our best friend has now been diagnosed with Parkinson's with Alzheimer's.   She is having problems remembering how to play the game.  So, both are getting assistance by the opposing team.

Lani - in Iowa, we have the Blue Racer snake - similar, just different color.  I caught one at Summer Scout camp about 35 years ago.  Learned that the Racers are beneficial to have nearby. - They eat many of the critters that cause us problems.  The Red Racers are more commonly called Coachwhip snakes.  See article -

I first posted about this young band last year - they are now 6th graders (11-12 yo)  They started out as classmates and close friends, and have added others along the way that have the skills and desire to contribute.  They are improving with experience/age.  This is just their 2nd year as a band.  A skill that they are now working on this spring is Stage Presence - looking at the audience and more smiles.

FROM PHYL
Hi Beakers—-wish me luck this Tuesday.  I get my first Euflexa injection in both knees.  As you probably know ---a series of 3 injections a week apart.

LANI   Rev Boomer is determined to convince the congregation that church funds in no way were used to purchased the luxurious chair.  8)     What a day for you.  Able to eat some bland food today?   Did Mike get sick?    Well I googled red racer AKA  whip snake as well - lots of different colors for it too( sub species)  Well let's hope it found its way into the forest.   Is the convention you go to next week the one you worked so hard on last year - reservations??

OLDGUY   Sorry about your card group.  Am waiting for it to happen with my girl group of 40 years.   Hope that mountain never has the urge to slide back down on those tracks. :o :o

Forgot to mention Ruth Buzzi died this weekend - Laugh -In fame  88 yr .

O G ....  Hugs to your friends/family...

It was laundry day and I needed to run an extra load because some items like to pick up soap residue... even though I selected extra rinse and fill full. I dislike these newfangled machines. 6 hours to wash and dry 4 loads is ridiculous!

Oh well.... "first world problems"  ::)

Old Guy Sorry to read your card group is having problems. I guess it’s part of the aging process. I hope you can OK continue for a little longer, but it doesn’t sound promising.

Lani, sorry to read you were sick and hope you are better as it sounds like you are like you I take the pictures of the seniors are fantastic one of my very favorite flowers and yes they do reseed .the secret of course is not to tell the dirt and let them do so!  have a great time at your convention and enjoy Aly , Flower shopping sounds like a good plan

I went out on the porch today to do a little cleaning and I am exhausted and I am nowhere near finished sweeping on concrete is not a good deal and I really should have tiled that floor years ago, but never did I think as I recall the price for having it done was outrageous, so I just thought well it’s painted and that’ll be that the pollen is thick on it. Some spill leaves and dirt add to the mess and I have been working until I can’t stand anymore I have to get The pollen off the questions on the glider I don’t have the energy to get the vacuum out to work on that there’s always tomorrow. I really haven’t done as much as just gave Cleaning her porch but it’s a lot considered that I have been doing nothing. My back was better until today and while it doesn’t have a horrible pain I think I’ve worn it out. We’ll see how to tomorrow  is!
Thanks Hall for posting pictures of the flowers And nEFL.  Where is a little English that was visiting from another nest I suspected or two early fledge. I certainly hope he she is OK..

Prayers for Maggie, as well as a few soft pets .Desk (tsk) I meant to post about Ruth Busey. Thanks for doing that and RIP Ruth.
May the fourth be with you!

Howdy. (((Hugs to All the Beakers))) who are not feeling up to snuff. I hope you all are feeling better soon.

I received this link by email today - cute and true research study and results about whether pet parrots would want to video call other pet parrots after they learned how. Quite fun and interesting! The text of the story is medium long, and there's also an embedded 5-minute video, and a few pics in the story. You might enjoy it. I will show it to Zippo later. It's really interesting! At the very end of the text article, there are also some other links to other interesting stories about parrots and their behavior, and such.

P.S. That article is 2 years old.

Take care, All.  :)

Oh, I forgot... Last week I finally bought one, count 'em, one! flowering potted plant for the season.  :D  It was a hanging planter in front of the grocery store. LOL. I removed the hanger and put the pot in a different container for my front porch. Calibrachoa... it's three colors together, the red, the purple, and mostly yellow. It is supposed to trail down the sides as it grows. Fingers crossed. Hummers are supposed to be attracted to this plant. I hope so! :)

Not a great snapshot below - I didn't get the angle that shows all 3 colors very well, but you get the idea.  ;)

Hi, We've returned.

The storm that hit western PA last week was so terrible.

Remember I got notice cabin electric was restored? Nope. When we arrived there was no power. Driving thru the small town that leads to the cabin after we get off the highway oh my was devastating. So many huge trees uprooted concrete grass and all. One we saw fallen on an old house. Many pine trees snapped off like tooth picks. Some lines of trees all leaning fallen down sideways.

The were 18 states that sent additional power workers to help restore power. We stayed there. Had plenty candles and took cooler with things in it to eat/drink. We found a restaurant two little towns away that had power restored so went there too while there a couple of times.

Power wasn't restored until about an hour before we headed home. We were very lucky no damage on or around immediate area of cabin. When we arrived there were two guys from electric company on a 4-wheeler checking out the area.

There were lots of things blown around outside and around the fire pit and chairs and slabs of some wood and one wood pile leaning ready to go down from wind but that's all minor. We lucked out big time. Thank you God and Jesus.

I didn't drive the 4-wheeler because it was too windy and the electric guys gave warnings about venturing out and about with down power lines and fallen trees etc.

The day we arrived .. that night there was another heck of a nasty storm with high winds. Some warnings were sent out by texts. My laptop didn't work of course because no electric or internet. I lit candles and we got through it fine.

Lisa, Yes Bellefonte PA was hit hard. So many western PA towns and counties were. We drive past Bellefonte (get off to go to a food store there sometimes) on our way to get onto Route 80 to continue to cabin.

BL, Congrats to you and Pip! Thank you for that radar. It was a strong nasty storm for sure. Very good advise for sure that you gave to me. As I mentioned above it was windy while I was driving along 80 so I decided too that I wasn't going to venture out in high winds. Thanks again!

tig, I hope Camper is feeling better.

Karen , tsk and Lani, Thank you.

clynn, Congrats to Ed's Retirement! Beautiful lilacs, hanging baskets and Stella Dora Lillies!!

Phyll, Prayers for Maggie.

I hope I didn't miss or forget to thank anyone or miss any important news.

I think the Beakers, and lots of RRP followers have already discovered this on their own, but scientists are also proving that raptors have much the same kind of smarts that crows and parrots are known for. This is a good article demonstrating this:

"These Brainy Falcons Are Smarter Than You Might Think"

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/these-brainy-falcons-are-smarter-than-you-might-think-180983313/?itm_source=related-content&itm_medium=parsely-api

Paulie, it's hard to see the extensive damage to trees and homes and property, etc. I'm glad your cabin fared ok, except for losing power and some things strewn around. So glad no trees came down on your home! Glad your power was restored there before you left. I saw over 500,000 power outages in PA from the storms there a few days ago, so I know that takes a long time to get fully restored with all the damage, and especially in remote areas like where your cabin is. Glad you could get up to take a look at how things were at the cabin and that you found it mostly unscathed.

Have a good evening, All. Peace. SED.  :) :-*
