LISA   Comfy AM post.  :)  Musical great as usual  :)  We pass on the way home a renown fish place in our area  https://www.bobchinns.com/   I had a char broiled fish sandwich ( basa fish = "Basa fish fillets are large, white, boneless pieces of fish with a mild flavor and firm texture. Basa is a type of catfish that's native to Southeast Asia. It's also known as swai, river cobbler, and Vietnamese cobbler. "    I actually didn't know what fish it was I was eating but had said to Tim "this fish is so mild I can hardly taste fish" So we asked the waiter and there you have it.  Tim had lobster tails of course.  He loves lobster.

KAREN   Isn't that a cute little AM princess  LOL  We're still in single digits at night til the weekend.  Sunday afternoon - mid 40s  We have some great sunshine today which makes everything better  ;D

LANI   Baby Heidi is a winner  ;D

TIG   I have all the ingredients for that sandwich.  Was not familiar with it. :o

BL   Sure looking good for next week  ;D

LORI    Thanks for the heads up on falcon return!

Phyl, Beautiful fire in the fireplace in your last picture don’t you know that Poppy is warm piper and I will be fine she’ll go outside but she strolls around the yard grazing and doesn’t seem to mind the cold. I’ll wait for her inside and it’s warm here Tomorrow morning may be a little chilly. It’s 48° now it must be a heat wave for some of you.
The big pot of chili tonight or late this afternoon and have divided it up into containers getting ready for the refrigerator in the freezer. It was tasty and that better tasting than what I made in the past. Don’t ask what it was because I just saw the dump stuff in no cream soup so tag so you might not like
Tsk, nice day out for you and Tim and nice restaurant to stop in instead of passing by

Clynnn, I had a Christmas tree one year that had all orangey lights on. It gave quite a glowed of the road and I really kind of liked it years ago and I’ve rented apartment in Chicago
Heidi Is a real sweetheart, and I hope she does well the sloths send a very, very fragile
Old guy I heard yesterday that Menards sells meats and snacks etc. is that only in Springfield or all over my friend had bacon wrapped pork fillets stuffed with spinach and cheese. She said they were delicious I just doesn’t seem to go with the store but nice for Those that have a Menards in the town.
Bl, oh you are a whiz  With those weather maps thanks for posting
Lori, good news on the Falcons and thanks for the picture. Hope you are staying warm and are well.

Karen - Menards expanded the food section about 4 years ago.  This includes some refrigerator units and freezer units - these are like the 6 foot tall, 30" wide with glass door like the grocery stores use.  These are for the standard products like milk, cheese, eggs, ice cream, frozen pizza, hot dogs, and sandwich meats, etc.  There is also 3 chest freezers with sliding top doors (similar to ice cream treat freezers in convenience stores.)  This product selection is on a 3 month rotation.  The current items are Bew Pub Lotzza Motzza Pizzas.  Last month was the Family Farms Market Bacon Wrapped Chicken Teasers with different stuffings.  The 3rd item of rotation is Lloyd's® St. Louis Style Pork Spareribs and Hormel® Black Label® Original Bacon.

BL - Trying to hang in there!

LisaG a very slight atmospheric river weather wobble would have put those snowfall amounts in your backyard or ours.

So be happy and hang in there.  :)

Bl, oh you are a wiz with those weather maps.

Karen in my realm of the great outdoors 'some' weather knowledge has rubbed off and seeped into my brain _ a little old school and modernized.
A map is a place you throw a dart at when you're young.
So now your are there.

Have you done your local knowledge homework ?

What secrets and best possible weather outcomes one takes away and absorbs from the tip of the dart is the magic and mostly on your now knowing.
Knowing as much as one can about the destination, customs, language *, trails, rules, topography, weather, bugs, climate, flora, fauna etc, etc etc ...
Is the Key to how I still type here.

* My mother was a librarian and taught me Latin at a very young age so I can generally work my way through most.
I wish more, but just like books and places there are just so many ...

Many major excursions long before the 'internet age'.

So many "outdoor type peeps" using electronic battery operated hand held devices. Totally turned around.  ::)

Pip and I ask kindly .. can we help you ?
No we're good. You can see the head scratching navigational look.

We tortoise walk up/down Mtn trails with paper maps and a compass like Magellan all the time.

I never ever walk into an unfamiliar place in the lower 48 without a USGS 7.5 Minute Paper Map and a Compass and the reliable knowledge on how to use both.

We try to scoop up most of the GPS/Smartphone users wandering around as best as we can as we come back down.   ::)

BL, big, fun snow in northeastern NC coastal areas/Northern Outer Banks!

Currituck County (Northern Outer Banks) got lots of snow. Here's a photo I liked of one of the wild horses in the snow at Corolla, at the Currituck Banks Reserve. You don't see that every day!

https://www.instagram.com/imagesbynalls/p/DGUWajLNRuZ/ (Just "X" out to close the pop-up to see the pic)

And another, of the wild horses on the beach in the snow at Carova, in the Currituck Nat'l Wildlife Refuge - just north of Corolla:
https://www.facebook.com/ncweatherauthority/posts/7-inches-of-snow-on-carova-beach-nc-currituck-county-photos-ginger-robinson/648370390918760/ (It's hard to see, but the dark horses are in the foreground on the flat snow in front of the brushy hill)
