Hi Karen--Jim's fine & got a workout bagging and carry ing purchases. No plows the snow's about half gone by dinnertime

Tsk- thanks, no plows in our housing development. We're in the 'country' and outer roads probably need them though. I went out in my robe and slippers on the porch and took snap of the street. The deck I took from 2nd story window in this room (computer)

Lisa- next time I'll get the dusting of snow LOL

Lani-Thanks for the Royals  I agree w/ Tsk and feel the same.  Some times the lives of our wildlife makes me sad. But,  then I remember He provides for them.

Good Evening Beakers...SEDs all.

Baz, thank you for the info on the Platypus, "egg laying" is a real surprise. I keep learning new things everyday.

Lisa. WOW! Good thing you kept the appt. I hope your internet works 100% now!

Kb, I love Doug's Winter Party invite story.  ;D

Phyl, thanks for the nature video, the last days of winter...brrrr .... And speaking of winter, yesterday it was raining at your and today your covered in snow. You have an inviting front porch and wonderful view of your bird feeders.... yes, he does provide for them.... Love your good night pic, it would make a great puzzle, very soothing.

Karen, glad to hear your new dryer is working out well.... Happy for Miss Piper finding high ground for her personal needs.  ;D

Tsk, we really enjoyed watching Donny's performance.... I always feel bad when the Albie chick is left alone especially when the teenagers walk through the area... . I haven't been able to see if there's a nest nearby. There's got to be one maybe 12 to 15 feet away in either direction.

Good night!

Not too many seal pups left.... here's one enjoying the sunset  :-*

Finally got this last installment posted...

Historic Places of the World

The Colosseum, Rome, Italy

Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an iconic symbol of ancient Rome. Completed in AD 80, it hosted gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, and public performances for thousands of spectators. With its distinctive elliptical shape and towering arches, the Colosseum is a remarkable showcase of architectural prowess and is one of the most significant historical sites in Italy. Marvel at the grandeur of the amphitheater, explore the underground chambers, and envision the events that unfolded within its walls. A visit to the Colosseum is a step back in time, offering a glimpse into the vibrant history of Rome and the cultural legacy of the Roman Empire.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I love reading the Albie updates, thank you for posting them so faithfully for us! Wouldn't it be wonderful to actually get to go to New Zealand and see them! I wonder how close they let people get to them. How are Norman and Milo these days? Sophie is my little mischievous one, she gets into everything, Sam stands back and watches. I found a new cat toy that they seem to like, I will post about it on Caturday!

Phyl, love the good night picture, I have already made a puzzle! Your porch looks pretty, just right for sitting out in the warm weather. Wow, you have a lot of snow, I bet it's soon gone! Ours will take a while to melt, but starting Sunday we have a week of 40s temps, even a couple of 50s. That was a cold 365, the birds just curl up and ride the choppy waves. I used to worry about the geese that overwinter here, at work we could see them on the frozen water, not moving, curled up in a ball. I thought they were frozen. They would eventually start moving, sometimes not until noon.

Baz, interesting platypus facts! I have always marveled at how there so many different animals on this earth, and have pictured God having such fun when he created some of them! There are some very weird creatures in this world!

Lisa, wow, glad they found a problem with the fiber optics before you had to call again! We have new Google fiber in our area but we haven't switched to it yet. Our email is from our internet provider and I will have to get a new email account somewhere else if I switch. And they say they have no way to transfer all my folders to a new email. Erin is trying to find a way to do it.

I need to get ready, I have to go have lab work done before our appointments tomorrow. Kelsey and I have our yearly physical. Ed took her for labs yesterday morning, she does really well!

In early September 2024, a visitor accidentally dropped a bag of Cheetos inside Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico, which sparked unexpected consequences for the cave’s delicate ecosystem. The Cheetos, softened by the cave's humidity, created an ideal environment for microbial and fungal growth. This prompted a temporary food web involving cave crickets, mites, spiders, and flies, disrupting the cave’s fragile balance.
Such disruptions are especially impactful because caves are sensitive environments where organisms have adapted to survive with minimal nutrients, and introducing foreign elements can cause significant ecological shifts. Even minor human actions can have substantial effects on these ecosystems, making the impact of the Cheetos far greater than it might seem.
Park rangers spent 20 minutes meticulously removing the Cheetos and molds from the cave surfaces, highlighting the importance of following park rules, which prohibit consuming anything but plain water in the caverns. This incident underscores the broader message of "Leave No Trace," encouraging visitors to minimize their impact on natural environments.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

PHYL   Hope Jim can get some rest today?   Enjoyed the good night pic.  Had to Google McKenzie-Childs. Love it.  Didn't realize the  Coliseum was an AD structure.  :o   That was a good 365 today.  The cute kingfisher is such a recognizable little bird.  :)

LANI    You have an eye for a good puzzle ( PHYL's post last night)  ;D

CLYNN   Giving us an orange morning today.  My first sofa in my first apt was orange  LOL  Got it at a garage sale  LOL.  It was a sleeper and weighed a ton.   Lulu's new toy the other day was the little wooden stick that Tim uses to stir the 1/2& 1/2 into his coffee  LOL    Speaking of odd creatures  - don't know if anyone is watching  ASIA ON BBC  by David Attenborough?  Amazing .  Soon to start is AMERICA narrated by Tom Hanks - 10 part series.  Trailer is really good.    Carlsbad Caverns  :o :o  What are people thinking?   Wonder how the bag got by the park rangers??

((PUFF))   Remembering Tony's passing today and may you remember all the fun times you both had together.  :-* :-* :-*

Clynn, good report  for tomorrow s  Check up for you and Kelsey.

Busy morning at FWFL with nest building and meeting going on following about an hours activity. Both Eagles flew off. Will check back later this afternoon and see what the latest brings a cooler and cloudy day there and the same can be said here where it looks very dreary outside. Temperatures will be going down to about 27 tonight

Our pair at Tremp are trying anything/everything to get placement for each of the longest 2 sticks I recall ever seeing to fit just anywhere on their nest.  Good luck.  Plus they take a break now and then to bicker about who is winning.  Let me go back to check out the competition.  About at the top of the hour

Good morning Beakers!
Hello Eagles4, Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Phyl, Love today's McKenzie-Childs black and white decor pieces... beautiful Kingfisher in today's nature Video.

Clynn Pretty orange theme today. The Mary Dee Design piece is very interesting. Looks like a perfect Shabby Chic piece.... our furry boys are doing well... I hope Erin will be able to figure out how to transfer your email folders into a possible new account.... I had Incredimail years ago. Then Microsoft bought it and wouldn't allow it to be used. They just shut it down. I didn't want to lose my folders. But, they wouldn't transfer it, so I just saved it on a usb stick. I didn't want to lose Mike's mom's emails to us. I kept them all as notes. In fact, I still have her email address on my contact list. I don't want to delete it  :-* ... I pray all goes well with your lab work.  :)

Hi Tsk  :)

Lisa, YAY!!! I'm knocking on wood for you ;D

Karen, Love your morning pic!  ;D

{{{Puff}}} Thanks for Tremp update. I have to check it out! ...  Thinking of you and remembering Ton  :-*

First time outside in days... took the car in for an oil change. Had a hankerin' for a White Castle waffle sammy. Decided to come home and make my own. Too many carbs n calories of course, but prolly healthier here and a lot cheaper! LOL. Frozen waffles (smallish) and frozen pulled chicken, a touch of butter and honey and a pinch of salt. I'll have to make one for Camper when he gets up. Of course I'll need to swap the honey for syrup. Some folks just don't know what's good.  ::)

Well hang in there Beakers ..

All of us should be getting a nice break from this Arctic blast of cold air at the beginning of next week.

Mouse-over the days in table below the map and watch the pretty colors go to above average Temps.   :)   ;D
