BL, thanks for the time lapse video of the snow on that same building, the snow buried the cam!  I too am worried about the bird flu, it seems to be getting out of hand.
The CDC should be on this...

A funny story.
I was in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Yosemite NP in the late Spring one year hiking.

My hiking buddy and I kept seeing Aspen Trees that were maybe 20'-25' tall that were just like bean poles but pointy on top.
They looked just like Pencils.
Hmm' that's a head scratch-er ?

As we ambled back out to the trail head we ran into an old codger FS Ranger.
What's up with the "Pencil Aspens" back up in there ?

Answer:
Sometimes in the early Spring all of the snow back in there gets a nice crust on top of it and the Beavers wander out on top of it and ...
Yum-Yum says the beaver ... tender juicy Aspen tops for me and my babies.   
So when the snow melts in late Spring you're left with 'Pencil Aspens'

Clynn, beautiful morning post... Aly said it's suppose to rain this afternoon, roads are a mess.... Yes, I would love to see the Albies... I just read juvie Albie Manaaki that we watched two seasons ago, his parents just had a new chick hatch... Hoping mama black bear and cub (poor baby) are now settled in their winter den till spring  ... adorable pic from NEFL.

{{{Phyl}}} the sweet little stuff owlet with the sad eyes makes me think of how you must feel right now... sending prayers you get the needed help and answers from doctor today! Good luck and God Bless.

Lisa, love your morning cup post... Aly plans to close her office the end of March... pack her big items/boxes in a storage pod and leave it there in Medford... then return here in mid- April... around the 1st of 2026 she should have an idea of where she can go after she receives her license. Then she'll have the storage pod delivered to her final destination. Wherever accepts her license... Hoping you, Jeff and furry babies doing well..... oh, and B&B family too.

Oh oh, it's on my walking path a few blocks away....chain link fence, no problem.

Time for me to spray more wolf urine on my property. Luckily for me and Ollie it's still too cold to walk this morning. Was thinking early afternoon though. If I remember correctly its mating and pup season in February.

Kb, yep, just like it is here. We're always careful. We don't use the spray here. Because we live in their territory anyway... We have a family of 3 just down the street. Take care.

Yep these are urban coyotees, not wild anymore...since they "take" many dogs every year, small ones albeit, although big ones have been bitten I do take precautions. Have seen one walk right up my driveway on camera before. But, not since spraying. Crossing my fingers.

KB you're are correct about it being mating season in your neck of the woods.
I just read an article about Coyote mating season yesterday.
Apparently coyotes can get a little screwy in the head and more aggressive at this time of year due to their mating hormones and to keep an extra close eye on your pets.

I've never been hassled by any coyotes or foxes in my wanderings .. wolves are a much different story however.
They can really get the hair on the back of your neck standing up if there's a pack shadowing you or you get to close to a kill.

Yep. They can get screwy for sure, LOL....that's why btw I use wolf urine and follow directions on my property. 17 inches high every few feet or so....it still stinks mightily so I assume it's still effective, LOL

Urban city I live in:

Density is 5,458 per sq. mile....only 7 sq miles in my city with 2 parks.

Anyone can look up their own city's density. yep these are urban coyotees not afraid much of humans.

Lani - Oh, she doesn't have too much longer in Oregon, before heading back to you.  I bet you will be glad to have her home again.  The Royal chick is adorable!

kb - Pretty coyote, but best to be safe around your home.
